To charge your SONY MDR-ZX750BN, connect the computer and the micro-USB port on the unit with the supplied micro-USB cable.

Charging starts, and the red indicator on the unit lights up. When the indicator turns off, charging is complete. Charging takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Note: You cannot operate the SONY MDR-ZX750BN, such as turning on the power or using the BLUETOOTH and noise canceling functions, while it is charging. If you connect the unit to a computer that is not connected to an AC outlet, the computer may go into sleep or hibernate mode, and charging may not be completed. Be sure to change the computer settings if this occurs.

You can control music playback on your SONY MDR-ZX750BN using the JOG switch.

Play/Pause: Press the JOG switch.

Go to the beginning of the next track: Push the JOG switch to the + side.

Go to the beginning of the previous track (or current track during playback): Push the JOG switch to the – side.

Fast-forward: Push the JOG switch to the + side and hold. Release at the desired playback point.

Fast-reverse: Push the JOG switch to the – side and hold. Release at the desired playback point.

Increase the volume: Press the VOL + button.

Decrease the volume: Press the VOL – button.

Note: The volume control of the SONY MDR-ZX750BN has no relation to the volume of the connected BLUETOOTH device. If you raise the volume of the unit to the maximum or minimum level, a beep sound will be heard from the unit.

You can manage phone calls using the JOG switch on your SONY MDR-ZX750BN.

To receive a call: Press the JOG switch when a call comes in.

To end a call: Press the JOG switch again.

You can speak using the microphone of the SONY MDR-ZX750BN and listen to the caller’s voice from the unit.

Note: You can adjust the volume during a call. When talking on the phone, the noise canceling function is automatically turned off. Some smartphones may activate their voice dial function by pressing the JOG switch twice quickly; this is not a malfunction.

When the SONY MDR-ZX750BN is turned off, you can use it as a normal pair of headphones by connecting it to a device with the supplied cord. Connect the supplied headphone cord to the INPUT jack on the headphones.

Notes:

The BLUETOOTH function cannot be used while the headphone cord is connected.

If you connect the supplied headphone cord while using the BLUETOOTH function, the BLUETOOTH function will turn off.

If the noise canceling function is on, the SONY MDR-ZX750BN automatically turns on when the supplied cord is connected.

When the supplied headphone cord is connected and the unit is turned on, you can use the noise canceling function.

1. Press and hold the POWER button on the SONY MDR-ZX750BN for about 7 seconds. Make sure that the indicator flashes blue and red alternately after you release the button.

2. On your BLUETOOTH device, perform the pairing procedure to detect the headphones. When a list of detected devices appears on the display of the BLUETOOTH device, select “MDR-ZX750BN”. If a passkey is required, input “0000”.

3. Establish the BLUETOOTH connection from your BLUETOOTH device.

1. Turn on the SONY MDR-ZX750BN. The blue indicator will flash.

2. From your BLUETOOTH device, establish the BLUETOOTH connection.

By touching the SONY MDR-ZX750BN with a smartphone compatible with the NFC (Near Field Communication) function, the headphones will turn on, pair, and establish a BLUETOOTH connection automatically. This is compatible with smartphones with the NFC function built-in (OS: Android 2.3.3 or later, excluding Android 3.x).

Notes:

The procedure for setting the NFC function may differ depending on the smartphone.

When you touch the SONY MDR-ZX750BN with a smartphone, be careful not to create a strong impact between them.

The BLUETOOTH function of the smartphone is turned on automatically upon touching.

If the connection is not established, make a BLUETOOTH connection by on-screen operation of the smartphone.

You may not be able to make a one-touch connection if the smartphone is in a case.

The N mark on the SONY MDR-ZX750BN indicates the point you should touch on the smartphone.

When a one-touch connection is established, any previous BLUETOOTH connection is disconnected.

To disconnect, touch the unit with the smartphone again.

If you have several NFC compatible devices, you can switch the connection by touching the smartphone to a different device.

1. Unlock the screen of your smartphone. If the smartphone is locked, it will not respond to a touch.

2. Start the “NFC Easy Connect” application on your smartphone. Make sure that the application screen is displayed.

3. Touch the SONY MDR-ZX750BN with the smartphone. Continue touching the unit with the smartphone until the smartphone responds. The position on the smartphone to be touched is its N mark or the location specified in its instruction manual. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection. When the BLUETOOTH connection is established, the headphones are automatically turned on.

To disconnect: Touch the smartphone on the unit again.

To switch devices: Touch the smartphone to another NFC compatible device.

When you turn on the power of the SONY MDR-ZX750BN, the noise canceling function is also turned on. To control it manually, press the NC button. The green indicator on the NC button will light up. The SONY MDR-ZX750BN automatically selects the optimal noise canceling mode (AI Noise Canceling) by sensing the ambient sound environment.

To turn off the noise canceling function, press the NC button again.

Notes:

You can use the noise canceling function even when you are not listening to music.

The noise canceling effect may not be pronounced in a very quiet environment, or some noise may be heard.

The noise canceling effect may vary depending on how you wear the unit.

When you use the unit in a train or a car, noise may occur depending on street conditions.

Mobile phones may cause interference and noise. Should this occur, locate the unit further away from the mobile phone.

Do not cover the microphone of the unit with your hands, as the noise canceling function may not work properly.

To turn off the power on your SONY MDR-ZX750BN, press and hold the POWER button for about 2 seconds. The blue indicator will flash and then turn off, indicating the unit is powered down.

If the supplied headphone cord is connected, you can turn off the power to disable the noise canceling function. The SONY MDR-ZX750BN can then be used as a normal, passive headphone.
