Please follow these safety instructions regarding the battery and charger for your SHARK POWERBOOST BH102Q:

BATTERY PACK

28. The battery is the power source for the vacuum. Carefully read and follow all charging instructions.

29. To prevent unintentional starting, ensure the vacuum is powered off before picking up or carrying it.

30. For BH100 series please use battery pack XBATR520DC. For charging, please use charger YLS0251A-T220080.

31. Keep the battery away from all metal objects such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws.

32. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery. Avoid contact with this liquid. If contact occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical help.

33. The battery should not be stored at temperatures below 3°C (37.4°F) or above 40°C (104°F) to maintain long-term battery life.

34. DO NOT charge the battery at temperatures below 5°C (40°F) or above 40°C (104°F).

35. Store the appliance indoors. DO NOT use or store it below 3°C (37.4°F).

36. DO NOT expose the battery to fire or temperatures above 130°C (265°F) as it may cause an explosion.

37. Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs.

38. Disconnect the battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the appliance.

39. CAUTION: Because of generational update to BH100 please read the following notes: Remove the battery pack and check the rating voltage and battery pack model number. If the rating voltage is 18V or the battery pack model is XBATR525SL or XBATR525SLN, please use XBATR525SL or XBATR525SLN and use charger YLS0251A-T220080.

40. If the charging cord plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT force into outlet or try to modify to fit.

41. Turn off power and remove the battery before servicing.

42. Unplug the power cord from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.

43. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

44. Turn off all controls before unplugging.

45. The product’s power supply cord should be directly plugged into an electrical outlet. An extension cord should not be used.


How long does it take to fully charge the SHARK POWERBOOST BH102Q battery and what is the runtime?

For the SHARK POWERBOOST BH102Q, a full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours. With a full charge, the BH102Q series will have up to 40 minutes of runtime.

NOTE: The main unit comes with a partial charge. For maximum runtime, charge fully before the first use. Leaving the unit plugged in will not damage battery life. The Shark battery, like all lithium-ion batteries, will naturally decrease in capacity over time from the 100% capacity of a new battery.


What do the LED battery power and charging indicators on the SHARK POWERBOOST BH102Q mean?

Charging Indicators:

• The LED on the battery pack will pulse yellow when reaching 0-75% charge.

• The LED on the battery pack will pulse green from 75% – 100% charge.

• The LED on the battery pack will turn white when the battery is fully charged. After it is fully charged, the LED will turn white, then shut off.

In Use Indicators:

The display shows icons indicating the charge level: Full Charge, Mid Charge, Low Charge, Nearly Empty, and No Charge.

To remove the battery: Press the release tab on the battery cap and slide out the battery from the hand vacuum.
