If the gas pressure is too low, you may experience the following issues:

The pilot will not stay lit.

The burners will have delayed ignition.

The fireplace will not produce the specified heat.

Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning resemble the flu with headaches, dizziness, or nausea. If you have these signs, the heater may not be working properly.

Get fresh air immediately!

Have the heater serviced.

Some people are more affected by carbon monoxide than others. These include pregnant women, people with heart or lung disease, people who are anemic, those under the influence of alcohol, and those living in high altitudes.

1. If equipped, lift the fireplace screen up and pull out to remove. Set the screen aside until installation has been completed.

2. Cut two plastic straps to remove the log from the firebox cavity. Set the log aside.

3. Locate four black Phillips sheet metal screws in the hardware packet.

4. Slide the hood between the louver and firebox top and align the screw holes.

5. Insert the screws and tighten them firmly.

6. Carefully lift the insert through the center opening in the front of the fireplace. Slide the insert back through the opening until the metal trim makes contact with the front of the mantel.

This heater shall not be installed in a confined space or unusually tight construction unless provisions are provided for adequate combustion and ventilation air.

A confined space is a space whose volume is less than 50 cu. ft. per 1,000 BTU/hr of the aggregate input rating of all appliances installed in that space.

If your home meets the criteria for unusually tight construction, you must provide additional fresh air.

You must maintain the following minimum clearances:

Clearance from the side of the fireplace cabinet to any combustible material and wall: 6 inches.

Clearances from the top of the fireplace opening to the ceiling should not be less than 36 inches.

If the appliance is installed directly on carpeting, tile, or other combustible material other than wood flooring, it must be installed on a metal or wood panel extending the full width and depth of the appliance.

Curtains, furniture, clothing, or other flammable objects must be at least 42 inches from the front, top, or sides of the heater.

1. Remove the Blower Access Panel.

2. Mount the Blower onto the bottom of the Fireplace Top using 4 screws.

3. Attach the Power Cord to the Blower Access Panel.

4. Attach the Temperature Sensor to the Combustion Top using 2 sheet metal screws.

5. Insert the wires marked with AUTO, OFF, and MAN into the line slot on the right corner. Keep wires close to the bottom.

6. Insert the two wires’ female plugs marked with T1 and T2 (black and yellow) into the two male ports on the Temperature Sensor.

7. Insert the female plug on the white power supply wire (marked with P1), into the corresponding male port (marked with P1).

8. Insert the female plug (marked with P2) into the corresponding male port, which is on the black power supply wire (marked with P2).

9. Insert the blower link (male plug) into the power link (female port).

10. Bind wires with cable ties and attach cable ties in holes on the back of the Outer Casing.

11. Insert AUTO, OFF, MAN wires through the Rocker Switch opening.

12. Connect AUTO, OFF, MAN wires to the three corresponding male ports on the Rocker Switch. Match the “Auto” wire to the symbol “—” and the “Man” wire to the symbol “=” on the rocker switch.

13. Push the Rocker Switch into the Control Panel and secure.

14. Check that all wires are secure and reattach the Blower Access Panel to the Outer Casing. Capture the Green Ground wire between the Access Plate and Outer Casing with the upper right screw.

1. Insert log #1 onto the rear brackets of the base pan.

2. Insert log #2 onto the middle row of pins on the base pan.

3. Insert log #3 onto the front right pin of the base pan.

4. Insert log #4 onto the front left pin of the base pan.

5. Insert log #5 onto the left pins of log #1 & #2 and the pin of log #3.

Important: Do not modify logs. Use only logs supplied with the heater. After installing logs, add decorative cinders around the grate base, but do not place any decorative cinders on the logs or burner.

1. STOP! Read the safety information.

2. Open the lower access panel located below the fireplace screen.

3. Set the receiver switch to the “ON” position.

4. Turn the control knob clockwise to the “OFF” position.

5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Then smell for gas, including near the floor. If you smell gas, STOP! If you don’t smell gas, go to the next step.

6. Push in slightly and turn the control knob counterclockwise to the “PILOT” position. Depress the control knob.

7. With the control knob depressed, push down on the ignitor button until the pilot lights.

8. Keep the control knob depressed for (30) seconds after the pilot lights. Release the control knob.

9. If the pilot goes out repeat steps 4 through 8. Wait (1) minute before attempting to light the pilot again.

10. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to the “ON” position.

11. To use the included thermostatic remote control, set the receiver switch to the “REMOTE” position. Press the ON button to turn on the remote to ignite the main burner.

1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting.

2. Press the OFF button on the remote control.

3. Open the lower access panel located under the fireplace screen.

4. Push in slightly and turn the control knob clockwise to the “OFF” position.

5. Close the lower access panel.

The transmitter has the following key settings:

ON: Operates unit to on position, Manually operated solenoid ON.

OFF: Operates unit to off position, Manually operated solenoid OFF.

MODE: Changes unit from manual mode to thermo mode.

SET: Sets temperature in thermo mode.

Manual Function: Press the ON key and the appliance flame will come on. Press the OFF key and the appliance flame will shut off.

Thermostat Function: Press the MODE key until the LCD screen shows the word ROOM. Press and hold the SET key until the desired set temperature is reached. When the room temperature varies a certain number of degrees from the set temperature, the fireplace will be activated.

1. Ensure the slide button on the receiver is in the REMOTE position.

2. Using a small screwdriver or the end of a paperclip, gently press and release the black LEARN button inside the hole labeled LEARN on the front face of the receiver.

3. When you release the LEARN button, the receiver will emit an audible “beep”.

4. After the receiver emits the beep, press ANY button on the transmitter and release.

5. The receiver will emit several beeps indicating that the transmitter’s code has been accepted.

Log Set: If broken or chipped, replace the log set.

Air Passageways: Use a vacuum cleaner or pressurized air to clean.

Exterior: Use a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap and water mixture.

Burner and Pilot: Keep the burner tube and pilot assembly clean and free of dust and dirt. Use compressed air no greater than 30 PSI. Blow air through the ports/slots and holes in the burner and the pilot air inlet hole.

Burner Orifice Holder: Inspect for dust, dirt, lint, and pet hair. Blocked air holes will create soot. Clean prior to each heating season.

Possible causes include:

1. Ignitor electrode is positioned wrong (Replace electrode).

2. Ignitor electrode is broken (Replace electrode).

3. Ignitor electrode is not connected to ignitor cable (Replace ignitor cable).

4. Ignitor cable is pinched or wet (Free ignitor cable if pinched by any metal or tubing. Keep ignitor cable dry).

5. Damaged ignitor cable (Replace ignitor cable).

6. Bad piezo ignitor (Replace piezo ignitor).

Possible causes include:

1. Control knob is not fully pressed in (Press in control knob fully).

2. Control knob is not pressed in long enough (After ODS/pilot lights, keep control knob pressed in 30 seconds).

3. Equipment shutoff valve is not fully open (Fully open equipment shutoff valve).

4. Thermocouple connection is loose (Hand tighten until snug, and then tighten ¼ turn more).

5. Thermocouple damaged (Replace thermocouple).

6. Control valve damaged (Contact customer service).

Possible causes include:

1. Burner orifice is clogged or damaged (Clean burner orifice or contact customer service).

2. Burner is damaged (Contact dealer or customer service).

3. Gas regulator is damaged (Replace gas regulator).

Possible causes include:

1. Heater is burning vapors from paint, hair spray, glues, etc. (Ventilate room. Stop using odor-causing products while heater is running).

2. Gas leak (Locate and correct all leaks).

3. Low fuel supply (Refill supply tank if applicable).

This may happen because the ODS (Oxygen Depletion Sensor) is operating. Possible causes include:

1. Not enough fresh air is available (Open window and/or door for ventilation).

2. Low line pressure (Contact local gas supplier).

3. ODS/pilot is partially clogged (Clean ODS/pilot).
