Before using your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT for the first time, it is recommended to charge it for 3 hours. After placing your hearing aid in the charger, the indicator light will show the charging state of the battery until the hearing aid is fully charged. When fully charged, the indicator light will be constantly on, i.e., a solid green light.

There is a red or blue marking on the back of the hearing aid and on the speaker to identify if it is a left or a right hearing aid.

• Blue marking for the left hearing aid.

• Red marking for the right hearing aid.

The multi-function button on your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT has several functions. It serves as an on/off switch, a volume control, and/or a program change button, depending on the hearing aid’s programming. If paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone, a short press on the upper or lower part of the button will accept an incoming call, and a long press will reject an incoming call.

To turn your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT on or off, firmly press the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds until the indicator light blinks.

• On: The indicator light will turn solid green.

• Off: The indicator light will turn solid red.

To enter flight mode on your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT, start with the device turned off. Then, press and hold the lower part of the multi-function button for 7 seconds until a solid orange light appears. Then release the button. The hearing aid is now in flight mode, which disables Bluetooth connectivity functions.

The PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT hearing aid and its accessories consist of the following parts:

Hearing Aid:

• Multi-function button with built-in indicator light

• Tube

• Anchor (optional)

• Charging contacts

• Speaker (without earpiece attached)

• Possible Earpieces: Dome, SlimTip, cShell

Charger Case Combi:

• Space for drying capsule (cover closed)

• Space for earpieces

• Hearing aid charging inserts with left/right indicators

• Drying capsule (optional)

Optional Power Pack (for Charger Case Combi):

• Indicator light for power

• micro-USB connection to external power supply

• Battery check button

• Indicator light for battery status

• Power Pack lock and release

Mini Charger Case:

• Hearing aid charging inserts with left/right indicators

• USB-C connection to external power supply

• Indicator light for power

To connect the power supply to your charger, follow these steps:

1. Plug the larger end of the charging cable into the power supply.

2. Plug the smaller end into the USB port on the charger.

3. Plug the power supply into a power outlet.

4. The indicator light will turn green when the charger is connected to the power supply.

Power supply specifications are as follows:

Follow these steps to charge your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT hearing aids:

1. Insert the hearing aids into the charging inserts. Make sure the left and right hearing aid markings match the left (blue) and right (red) indicators next to the charging inserts. The hearing aids will automatically be muted when inserted.

2. The indicator light will show the charging state of the battery. The charging process automatically stops when the batteries are fully charged. It can take up to 3 hours to fully charge the hearing aids. The charger cover can be closed while charging.

3. To remove the hearing aids, pull them gently toward yourself and then lift them out of the charger. Do not hold the tubes to remove the hearing aids as this can cause damage. The hearing aids will switch on automatically when removed from the charger.

Charging Times Table:

The Power Pack is only compatible with the Charger Case Combi. Before first use, it is recommended to charge it for 3 hours.

1. Attach the Power Pack to the bottom of the Charger Case Combi and lock it.

2. To charge both the Power Pack and the hearing aids, plug in the micro-USB and connect to an external power supply. While connected, the Power Pack indicator light will show its current battery charge status.

3. To check the remaining battery capacity of the Power Pack when not connected to a power supply, press the battery check push button. The indicator lights will show the status:

• One light: 0%-29%

• Two lights: 30%-59%

• Three lights: 60%-100%

1. Place the hearing aid behind your ear.

2. Insert the earpiece into your ear canal.

3. If there is an anchor attached to the earpiece, tuck it into the bowl of your ear to secure your hearing aid.

To remove the hearing aid, pull on the bend of the tube and remove the hearing aid from behind the ear.

You only need to perform the pairing procedure once with each device. After the initial pairing, your hearing aids will connect automatically.

1. On your device (e.g., a phone), ensure that Bluetooth wireless technology is enabled and search for Bluetooth enabled devices in the connectivity settings menu.

2. Switch on both hearing aids. You now have 3 minutes to pair your hearing aids with your device.

3. Your device will show a list of Bluetooth enabled devices. Select the hearing aid from the list to simultaneously pair both hearing aids. A beep will confirm successful pairing.

Enter the phone number on your paired phone and press the dial button. You will hear the dialing tone through your hearing aids. Your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT hearing aids pick up your voice through their own microphones.

When receiving a call, a calling notification will be heard in the hearing aids. The call can be accepted by a short press (less than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button on the hearing aid, or directly on your phone.

A call can be ended by a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button on the hearing aid, or directly on your phone.

An incoming call can be rejected by a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button on the hearing aid, or directly on your phone.

To enable the wireless function and exit flight mode on your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT, simply switch the hearing aid off and then on again.

If your hearing aid is in an error state, use this technique to reboot it. This will not remove or delete any programs or settings.

1. Press the lower part of the button for at least 15 seconds. It does not matter if the hearing aid is switched on or off before you start. There will be no light or acoustic notification at the end of the 15 seconds.

2. Place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait until the indicator light blinks green. This can take up to 30 seconds. The hearing aid is now ready to use.

• Charging Temperature Range: Charge the hearing aid and Power Pack within +5° to +40° Celsius (41° to 104° Fahrenheit).

• Atmospheric Pressure: 800 hPa to 1060 hPa.

• Water Resistance: The Audéo M-R/RT is classified IP68, meaning it can withstand a depth of 1 meter for 60 minutes and exposure to rain or sweat. However, it is not intended for water activities involving chlorinated water, soap, salt water, or other liquids with chemical content.

• Charger Humidity: Humidity during operation for the Charger Case Combi, Mini Charger Case and Power Pack is 0% to 85% (non-condensing).

Daily Care:

• Hearing Aid: Inspect the earpiece for earwax and moisture. Clean surfaces with a lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents like soap or detergents.

• Chargers: Ensure the charger inserts are clean. Do not use household detergents for cleaning.

Weekly Care:

• Hearing Aid: Clean the earpiece with a soft, damp cloth or a special cleaning cloth. Clean the charging contacts on the hearing aid with a soft, damp cloth.

• Chargers: Remove any dust or dirt from the charger inserts. Always make sure the charger is disconnected from the power mains before cleaning.

The earwax protection should be replaced every four to eight weeks, or if it looks dirty or sound quality is reduced. Follow these steps:

1. Remove the earpiece from the speaker:

a. Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

b. Gently pull off the earpiece to remove it.

c. Clean the speaker with a lint-free cloth.

2. Exchange the earwax protection with the CeruShield™ Disk:

a. Gently rotate the CeruShield Disk in the direction of the arrows until a free opening appears under the bin icon.

b. To remove the used protector, carefully insert the speaker into the free opening (under the bin icon) until it clicks.

c. To insert a new protector, carefully insert the speaker into the opening where the new earwax protector is visible (opposite the bin icon) until it clicks.

3. Attach the earpiece to the speaker:

a. Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

b. Slide the earpiece over the speaker sound outlet.

c. The speaker and earpiece should fit perfectly together.

If your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT hearing aid isn’t working, please check the following:

• Blocked Speaker/Earpiece: Clean the speaker opening and earpiece.

• Hearing Aid Switched Off: Press the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds to switch it on.

• Battery Discharged: Charge the hearing aid.

Whistling can be caused by two main issues:

• Incorrect Insertion: The hearing aid may not be inserted correctly into your ear. Please re-insert it properly.

• Earwax Buildup: There may be cerumen (earwax) in your ear canal. Contact your ENT/GP or hearing care professional.

For sound quality issues with your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT, try these solutions:

• Too Loud: Decrease the volume if a volume control is available.

• Not Loud Enough or Distorted:

– Increase the volume if a volume control is available.

– The battery may be low. Charge the hearing aid.

– The speaker/earpiece may be blocked. Clean the speaker opening/earpiece.

– Your hearing may have changed. Contact your hearing care professional.

Two beeps from your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT is an indication of a low battery. You should charge the hearing aid.

If your PHONAK AUDEO M90-RT won’t turn on, it could be for one of these reasons:

• Battery Fully Discharged: Charge the hearing aid.

• Button Deactivated: The button may have been inadvertently deactivated by being pressed for longer than 15 seconds. Perform step 2 of the rebooting process (place the hearing aid in the charger until the light blinks green).

If the indicator light does not turn on when you place the hearing aid in the charging inserts, check the following:

• Incorrect Insertion: Ensure the hearing aid is inserted correctly into the charger.

• No Power to Charger: Make sure the charger is connected to an external power supply.

• Deeply Discharged Battery: The battery may be fully discharged. Wait three hours after placing the hearing aid in the charger, regardless of the LED behavior.

A solid red indicator light while charging can indicate one of the following issues:

• Dirty Charging Contacts: Clean the contacts of the hearing aid and the charger.

• Out of Temperature Range: The hearing aid is out of its operating temperature range (+5° to +40° C). Warm the hearing aid up.

• Faulty Battery: There may be a battery fault. Contact your hearing care professional.

This may happen if the “Auto On” feature is disabled. You will need to switch on the hearing aid manually by pressing the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds.

This can occur if the indicator light was red when the hearing aid was placed into the charger. To resolve this, reboot the hearing aid.

If the battery life seems shortened, it may require replacement. Please contact your hearing care professional.

If you cannot make or receive phone calls through your hearing aid, check for these issues:

• Flight Mode: The hearing aid may be in flight mode. Switch the hearing aid off and then on again to exit flight mode.

• Not Paired: The hearing aid may not be paired to the phone. Pair the hearing aid to your phone.

If charging does not start and you are not using a Power Pack, check the following:

• Charger Connection: The charger may not be connected to a power supply. Connect the charger.

• Hearing Aid Insertion: The hearing aid may not be inserted correctly into the charger. Please re-insert it.

If you are using the optional Power Pack and your hearing aids are not charging, the Power Pack itself may be discharged. Charge the Power Pack.
