How do I charge my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R hearing aids?

Before using your hearing aid for the first time, it is recommended to charge it for 3 hours. The hearing aid must be dry before charging.

1. Insert the hearing aid into the charging inserts in the charger case. Make sure the left and right hearing aid markings (blue for left, red for right) match the indicators next to the charging inserts.

2. The indicator light on the hearing aid will show the charging state of the battery. The charging process stops automatically when the batteries are fully charged.

3. When fully charged, the indicator light will be a solid green light.

4. To remove the hearing aids, gently pull them toward yourself and then lift them out of the charger. Do not hold the tubes to remove them, as this can cause damage. The hearing aids will switch on automatically when removed from the charger.


What do the indicator lights mean when charging my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R?

The optional Power Pack is only compatible with the Charger Case Combi.

1. Attach the Power Pack to the bottom of the Charger Case Combi and lock it.

2. To charge the Power Pack and the hearing aids simultaneously, plug the micro-USB cable into the Power Pack and connect it to an external power supply. It is recommended to charge the Power Pack for 3 hours before its first use.

3. To check the remaining battery capacity of the Power Pack, press the battery check push button. The indicator lights will show the status:

• One light: 0%-29%

•• Two lights: 30%-59%

••• Three lights: 60%-100%


How do I turn the PHONAK AUDEO M90-R on and off?

Switch on:

Your hearing aid is configured to switch on automatically when removed from the charger. If this function is not configured, firmly press and hold the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds until the indicator light blinks green. A solid green light indicates the hearing aid is ready.

Switch off:

Press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the solid red light appears, which indicates the hearing is off.

Putting on the hearing aid:

1. Place the hearing aid behind your ear.

Removing the hearing aid:

1. Pull on the bend of the tube and remove the hearing aid from behind the ear.


How do I pair my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R with a Bluetooth enabled device?

You only need to perform the pairing procedure once with each device. After the initial pairing, your hearing aids will connect automatically.

1. On your device (e.g., a phone), ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and search for Bluetooth enabled devices in the connectivity settings menu.

2. Switch on both hearing aids. You now have 3 minutes to pair them with your device.

3. Your device will show a list of Bluetooth enabled devices. Select the hearing aid from the list to simultaneously pair both hearing aids. A beep will confirm a successful pairing.


How do I handle phone calls with my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R?

When paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone, you will hear the caller’s voice directly in your hearing aids, and your voice is picked up by the hearing aid’s own microphones.

Making a call: Enter the phone number on your phone and press the dial button. You will hear the dialing tone through your hearing aids.

Accepting a call: When you receive a call, you will hear a notification. Accept the call with a short press (less than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button on the hearing aid, or directly on your phone.

Ending a call: End the call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

Rejecting a call: Reject an incoming call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.


How do I use flight mode on my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R?

Entering flight mode disables the Bluetooth connectivity functions but does not disable normal hearing aid functionality.

Enter flight mode:

1. If the hearing aid is on, turn it off by pressing and holding the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns solid red.

2. Press and hold the lower part of the button. The green indicator light will blink as the hearing aid starts up.

3. Keep pressing the button for a total of 7 seconds, until the indicator light is solid orange, then release the button. The solid orange light indicates the hearing aid is in flight mode.

Exit flight mode:

Switch the hearing aid off and then on again.


How do I reboot my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R if it is in an error state?

This procedure will not remove or delete any of your programs or settings.

1. Press the lower part of the button for at least 15 seconds. It does not matter if the hearing aid is on or off when you begin. There will be no light or sound notification at the end of the 15 seconds.

2. Place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait until the indicator light blinks green. This can take up to 30 seconds. The hearing aid is now ready to use.


How do I clean and maintain my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R?

General Information:

• Before using hair spray or applying cosmetics, you should remove your hearing aid from your ear.

• After exposure to water, sweat or dust, the hearing aid should be cleaned and dried.

• Always make sure that the hearing aids and charger are dry and clean before charging.

Daily Care:

• Hearing aid: Inspect the earpiece for earwax and moisture. Clean the surfaces with a lint-free cloth. Never use household detergents or soap.

• Chargers: Make sure that charger inserts are clean. Never use cleaning agents such as household detergents or soap.

Weekly Care:

• Hearing aid: Clean the earpiece with a soft, damp cloth or with a special cleaning cloth for hearing aids. Clean the charging contacts on the hearing aid with a soft, damp cloth.

• Chargers: Remove dust or dirt from the charger inserts. Always make sure the charger is disconnected from power before cleaning.


How do I exchange the earwax protection on my PHONAK AUDEO M90-R?

The earwax protection should be replaced every four to eight weeks, or if it looks dirty or if the hearing aid volume is reduced.

1. Remove the earpiece from the speaker:

• Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

• Gently pull off the earpiece to remove it.

• Clean the speaker with a lint-free cloth.

2. Exchange the protector using the CeruShield™ Disk:

• Gently rotate the CeruShield Disk until a free opening appears under the bin icon.

• To remove the used earwax protector, carefully insert the speaker into the free opening (under the bin icon) until it clicks.

• To insert a new protector, carefully insert the speaker into the opening where the new earwax protector is visible (opposite the bin icon) until it clicks.

3. Attach the earpiece to the speaker:

• Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

• Slide the earpiece over the speaker sound outlet.

• The speaker and earpiece should fit perfectly together.
