Before using your PHONAK AUDEO M30-RT hearing aid for the first time, it is recommended to charge it for 3 hours. Place the hearing aid in the charger, and the indicator light will show the charging status. When fully charged, the indicator light will be a solid green light.

There is a red or blue marking on the back of the hearing aid and on the speaker to identify if it is for the left or right ear.

• Blue marking for the left hearing aid.

• Red marking for the right hearing aid.

The multi-function button on your PHONAK AUDEO M30-RT has several functions. It serves as an on/off switch, a volume control, and/or a program change button, depending on its programming. If paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone, a short press on the upper or lower part of the button will accept an incoming call, and a long press will reject it.

Your PHONAK AUDEO M30-RT is configured to switch on automatically when removed from the charger. If this function is not configured or you need to do it manually:

Switch on: Firmly press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the indicator light blinks. A solid green light indicates the hearing aid is ready.

Switch off: Press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the solid red light appears, indicating the hearing aid is off.

Entering flight mode disables the Bluetooth connectivity functions but not the normal hearing aid functionality.

To enter flight mode:

1. Start with the device off. If it’s on, press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until it turns solid red to switch it off.

2. Press and hold the lower part of the button. The green indicator light will blink as it starts up.

3. Keep pressing the button for 7 seconds, until the indicator light is solid orange, then release the button. The solid orange light indicates the hearing aid is in flight mode.

To exit flight mode:

Switch the hearing aid off and then on again.

Follow these steps to connect the power supply to the charger:

a) Plug the larger end of the charging cable into the power supply.

b) Plug the smaller end into the USB port on the charger.

c) Plug the power supply into a power outlet.

d) The indicator light on the charger will turn green when it is connected to the power supply.

The indicator light on the charger shows the charging state of the battery. The charging process automatically stops when the batteries are fully charged. It can take up to 3 hours to fully charge the hearing aids.

1. Insert the hearing aids into the charging inserts. Make sure the left and right hearing aid markings match the left (blue) and right (red) indicators next to the charging inserts. The hearing aids will automatically be muted when inserted.

2. The indicator light will show the charging state of the battery. When fully charged, the indicator light will remain solid green.

3. To remove the hearing aids, pull them gently toward yourself and then lift them out of the charger. Do not hold the tubes to remove the hearing aids, as this can damage them. The hearing aids will switch on automatically when removed from the charger.

The Power Pack is only compatible with the Charger Case Combi.

1. Attach the Power Pack to the bottom of the Charger Case Combi and lock it.

2. To charge the Power Pack and hearing aids simultaneously, plug the micro-USB cable into the Power Pack and connect it to an external power supply.

3. To check the remaining battery capacity of the Power Pack, press the battery check push button. The indicator lights will show the status:

• One light: 0%-29%

• Two lights: 30%-59%

• Three lights: 60%-100%

1. Place the hearing aid behind your ear.

2. Insert the earpiece into your ear canal.

3. If there is an anchor attached to the earpiece, tuck it into the bowl of your ear to secure your hearing aid.

To remove the hearing aid, pull on the bend of the tube and remove the hearing aid from behind the ear.

You only need to perform the pairing procedure once with each device. After the initial pairing, your hearing aids will connect automatically. This can take up to 2 minutes.

1. On your device (e.g., a phone), ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and search for Bluetooth enabled devices in the connectivity settings menu.

2. Switch on both of your PHONAK AUDEO M30-RT hearing aids. You now have 3 minutes to pair your hearing aids with your device.

3. Your device will show a list of Bluetooth enabled devices. Select the hearing aid from the list to simultaneously pair both hearing aids. A beep confirms successful pairing.

Your PHONAK AUDEO M30-RT hearing aids connect directly with Bluetooth enabled phones. You will hear the caller’s voice directly in your hearing aids, and the hearing aids’ microphones will pick up your voice.

Making a call: Enter the phone number and press the dial button on your phone. You will hear the dialing tone through your hearing aids.

Accepting a call: When you receive a call, you will hear a notification in your hearing aids. Accept the call with a short press (less than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button on the hearing aid, or directly on your phone.

Ending a call: End a call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

Rejecting a call: Reject an incoming call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

If your hearing aid is in an error state, use this technique to reboot it. This will not remove or delete any programs or settings.

1. Press the lower part of the button for at least 15 seconds. It does not matter if the hearing aid is on or off. There will be no light or sound at the end of the 15 seconds.

2. Place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait until the indicator light blinks green. This can take up to 30 seconds. The hearing aid is now ready to use.

Daily Care:

• Hearing aid: Inspect the earpiece for earwax and moisture. Clean the surfaces with a lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents like household detergents or soap.

• Chargers: Make sure the charger inserts are clean. Do not use cleaning agents to clean your charger.

Weekly Care:

• Hearing aid: Clean the earpiece with a soft, damp cloth or a special cleaning cloth. Clean the charging contacts on the hearing aid with a soft, damp cloth.

• Chargers: Remove dust or dirt from the charger inserts. Always make sure the charger is disconnected from the power mains before cleaning.

Check the earwax protector regularly and replace it if it looks dirty or if the sound quality is reduced. It should be replaced every four to eight weeks.

1. Removing the earpiece:

• Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

• Gently pull off the earpiece to remove it.

• Clean the speaker with a lint-free cloth.

2. Exchanging the earwax protection with CeruShield Disk:

• Gently rotate the CeruShield Disk until a free opening appears under the bin icon.

• To remove the used protector, carefully insert the speaker into this free opening until it clicks. The removed protector will be visible below the bin icon.

• To insert a new protector, carefully insert the speaker into the opening where the new protector is visible (opposite the bin icon) until it clicks. The new protector is now in the speaker.

3. Attaching the earpiece:

• Hold the speaker and the earpiece.

• Slide the earpiece over the speaker sound outlet.

• The speaker and earpiece should fit perfectly together.

If your hearing aid is not functioning, check for the following causes and solutions:

• Cause: Speaker/earpiece blocked. Solution: Clean the speaker opening/earpiece.

• Cause: Hearing aid switched off. Solution: Press the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds to turn it on.

• Cause: Battery fully discharged. Solution: Charge the hearing aid.

Whistling can be caused by:

• Cause: Hearing aid not inserted correctly into the ear. Solution: Insert the hearing aid correctly.

• Cause: Cerumen (earwax) in the ear canal. Solution: Contact your ENT/GP or hearing care professional.

If the volume is incorrect:

• Problem: Hearing aid too loud. Solution: Decrease the volume if a volume control is available.

• Problem: Hearing aid not loud enough or distorted. Solutions: Increase the volume if available; check for a low battery and charge the hearing aid; clean a blocked speaker/earpiece; or contact your hearing care professional if your hearing has changed.

Two beeps are an indication for a low battery. You should charge your hearing aid.

If the hearing aid will not switch on, try these solutions:

• Cause: The battery is fully discharged. Solution: Charge the hearing aid.

• Cause: The button was inadvertently deactivated by pressing it for longer than 15 seconds. Solution: Perform step 2 of the rebooting process (place it in the connected charger and wait for the green light).

Possible causes and solutions are:

• Cause: Hearing aid not inserted correctly into the charger. Solution: Insert the hearing aid correctly into the charger.

• Cause: Charger not connected to a power source. Solution: Connect the charger to an external power supply.

• Cause: Battery is fully discharged. Solution: Wait three hours after placing the hearing aid in the charger, regardless of the LED behavior.

A solid red light in the charger could mean:

• Cause: Dirty charging contacts. Solution: Clean the contacts of the hearing aid and the charger.

• Cause: Hearing aid is out of its operating temperature range. Solution: Warm the hearing aid up. The operating temperature range is +5° to +40° Celsius (+41° to +104° Fahrenheit).

• Cause: Faulty battery. Solution: Contact your hearing care professional.

This may happen if the “Auto On” feature is disabled. To fix this, switch on the hearing aid manually by pressing the lower part of the button for 3 seconds.

This can occur if the indicator light was red when the hearing aid was placed into the charger. To resolve this, reboot the hearing aid.

If the battery life seems shortened, contact your hearing care professional. A battery replacement may be required.

Check the following:

• Cause: The hearing aid is in flight mode. Solution: Switch the hearing aid off and then on again to exit flight mode.

• Cause: The hearing aid is not paired to the phone. Solution: Pair the hearing aid to the phone.

If charging does not start:

• Without a Power Pack: Ensure the charger is connected to a power supply and the hearing aid is inserted correctly into the charger.

• When using a Power Pack: The Power Pack may be discharged. Charge the Power Pack.
