Before using your PHONAK AUDEO M70-RT for the first time, it is recommended to charge it for 3 hours. The hearing aid must be dry before charging.

1. Insert the hearing aid into the charging inserts in the charger case. Ensure the left and right hearing aid markings match the left (blue) and right (red) indicators next to the charging inserts.

2. The indicator light on the hearing aid will show the charging state of the battery. The charging process stops automatically when the batteries are fully charged.

3. When fully charged, the indicator light will remain on as a solid green light. The charging process can take up to 3 hours.

The charger cover can be closed while charging.

The indicator light on the hearing aid shows the charging status while it is in the charger. The following table explains the different light indicators:

To remove the hearing aids from the charging inserts:

1. Gently pull the hearing aids toward yourself.

2. Lift them out of the charger.

Note: Do not hold the tubes to remove the hearing aids, as this can cause damage.

The hearing aid switches on automatically when removed from the charger. The indicator light will start blinking, and a solid green light indicates the hearing aid is ready for use. If you unplug the charger while the hearing aid is inside, please turn off the hearing aid to prevent it from discharging.

To connect the power supply to your charger:

a) Plug the larger end of the charging cable into the power supply unit.

b) Plug the smaller end into the USB port on the charger.

c) Plug the power supply into a power outlet.

d) The indicator light on the charger will turn green when it is connected to the power supply.

The Power Pack is only compatible with the Charger Case Combi.

1. Attach the Power Pack to the bottom of the Charger Case Combi and lock it.

2. To charge the Power Pack, plug in the micro-USB cable and connect it to an external power supply. The Power Pack and the hearing aids (if they are in the case) will be charged at the same time. The indicator light on the Power Pack shows its charging status.

3. To check the remaining battery capacity of the Power Pack, press the battery check push button. The indicator lights will show the status:

• One light: 0%-29%

• Two lights: 30%-59%

• Three lights: 60%-100%

Before first use, it is recommended to charge the Power Pack for 3 hours.

There is a red or blue marking on the back of the hearing aid and on the speaker to help you identify them:

• Blue marking for the left hearing aid.

• Red marking for the right hearing aid.

1. Place the hearing aid behind your ear.

2. Insert the earpiece into your ear canal.

3. If there is an anchor attached to the earpiece, tuck it into the bowl of your ear to secure the hearing aid.

To remove the hearing aid, pull on the bend of the tube and remove the hearing aid from behind the ear.

The multi-function button has several functions depending on the hearing aid programming, which may include:

• On/Off switch

• Volume control

• Program change

If the hearing aid is paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone, the button can also be used for phone calls:

• A short press (less than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the button will accept an incoming call.

• A long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the button will reject or end a call.

Switch on hearing aid:

The hearing aid is configured to switch on automatically when removed from the charger. If this function is not configured, firmly press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the indicator light blinks. Wait until the solid green light indicates the hearing aid is ready.

Switch off hearing aid:

Press and hold the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the solid red light indicates the hearing aid is off.

You only need to perform the pairing procedure once with each Bluetooth device. After the initial pairing, your hearing aids will connect automatically.

1. On your device (e.g., a phone), ensure Bluetooth is enabled and search for Bluetooth enabled devices in the connectivity settings menu.

2. Switch on both hearing aids. You now have 3 minutes to pair them with your device.

3. Your device will show a list of Bluetooth enabled devices. Select the hearing aid from the list to simultaneously pair both hearing aids. A beep will confirm a successful pairing.

Your hearing aids can be paired with up to two devices.

When your PHONAK AUDEO M70-RT is paired and connected to your phone, you will hear the caller’s voice directly in your hearing aids, and the hearing aids’ microphones will pick up your voice.

• Making a call: Enter the phone number on your phone and press the dial button. You will hear the dialing tone through your hearing aids.

• Accepting a call: When you receive a call, a notification will be heard in the hearing aids. Accept the call by a short press (less than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

• Ending a call: End a call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

• Rejecting a call: Reject an incoming call with a long press (more than 2 seconds) on the upper or lower part of the multi-function button, or directly on your phone.

Entering flight mode disables the Bluetooth connectivity functions but does not disable normal hearing aid functionality.

Enter flight mode:

1. If the hearing aid is on, turn it off by pressing the lower part of the button for 3 seconds until the light turns solid red.

2. With the device off, press and hold the lower part of the button. The green indicator light will blink as it starts up.

3. Keep pressing the button for a total of 7 seconds, until the indicator light turns solid orange, then release the button. The solid orange light indicates the hearing aid is in flight mode.

Exit flight mode:

To enable the wireless function and exit flight mode, simply switch the hearing aid off and then on again.

If your hearing aid is in an error state, you can reboot it without deleting any programs or settings.

1. Press the lower part of the button for at least 15 seconds. It does not matter if the hearing aid is on or off. There will be no light or sound at the end of the 15 seconds.

2. Place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait until the indicator light blinks green. This can take up to 30 seconds.

The hearing aid is now ready to use.

Always make sure the hearing aids and charger are dry and clean before charging.

Daily:

• Hearing aid: Inspect the earpiece for earwax and moisture. Clean the surfaces with a lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents like household detergents or soap.

• Chargers: Make sure the charger inserts are clean. Do not use cleaning agents to clean your charger.

Weekly:

• Hearing aid: Clean the earpiece with a soft, damp cloth or a special cleaning cloth for hearing aids. Clean the charging contacts on the hearing aid with a soft, damp cloth.

• Chargers: Remove dust or dirt from the charger inserts. Always make sure the charger is disconnected from the power mains before cleaning.

Check the earwax protector regularly and replace it every four to eight weeks, or if it looks dirty or sound quality is reduced.

1. Remove the earpiece from the speaker:

• Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

• Gently pull off the earpiece to remove it.

• Clean the speaker with a lint-free cloth.

2. Exchange the earwax protection with the CeruShield Disk:

• Gently rotate the CeruShield Disk in the direction of the arrows until a free opening appears under the bin icon.

• To remove a used earwax protector, carefully insert the speaker into the free opening (under the bin icon) until it clicks. The removed protector will be visible below the bin icon.

• To insert a new earwax protector, carefully insert the speaker into the opening where the new protector is visible (opposite the bin icon) until it clicks. The new earwax protector is now in the speaker.

3. Attach the earpiece to the speaker:

• Hold the speaker in one hand and the earpiece in the other.

• Slide the earpiece over the speaker sound outlet.

• The speaker and earpiece should fit perfectly together.

If your hearing aid is not functioning, check the following possible causes and solutions:

• Cause: Speaker/earpiece is blocked.

• Solution: Clean the speaker opening/earpiece.

• Cause: Hearing aid is switched off.

• Solution: Press the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds to turn it on.

• Cause: Battery is fully discharged.

• Solution: Charge the hearing aid.

If your hearing aid is whistling, try these solutions:

• Cause: Hearing aid is not inserted correctly into the ear.

• Solution: Insert the hearing aid correctly.

• Cause: Cerumen (earwax) in the ear canal.

• Solution: Contact your ENT/GP or hearing care professional.

If you are experiencing issues with volume or sound distortion:

• Problem: Hearing aid too loud.

• Solution: Decrease the volume if a volume control is available.

• Problem: Hearing aid not loud enough or distorted.

• Solutions:

• Increase the volume if a volume control is available.

• The battery may be low; charge the hearing aid.

• The speaker/earpiece may be blocked; clean it.

• Your hearing may have changed; contact your hearing care professional.

Two beeps indicate a low battery. You will have approximately 60 minutes of use left before you need to charge the hearing aids. You should charge your hearing aid.

If the hearing aid will not switch on, consider these possibilities:

• Cause: Battery is fully discharged.

• Solution: Charge the hearing aid.

• Cause: The button was inadvertently deactivated by pressing it for longer than 15 seconds.

• Solution: Perform step 2 of the rebooting process (place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait for the green light to blink).

If the indicator light does not light up, check the following:

• Cause: Hearing aid is not inserted correctly into the charger.

• Solution: Insert the hearing aid correctly into the charger.

• Cause: The charger is not connected to a power source.

• Solution: Connect the charger to an external power supply.

• Cause: The battery is fully discharged.

• Solution: Wait three hours after placing the hearing aid in the charger, regardless of the LED behavior.

A solid red light in the charger could mean:

• Cause: Dirty charging contacts.

• Solution: Clean the contacts of the hearing aid and the charger.

• Cause: The hearing aid is out of its operating temperature range.

• Solution: Warm the hearing aid up. The operating temperature is +5° to +40° Celsius (+41° to +104° Fahrenheit).

• Cause: Faulty battery.

• Solution: Contact your hearing care professional.

This happens when the “Auto On” feature is disabled. You will need to switch on the hearing aid manually by pressing the lower part of the multi-function button for 3 seconds.

This can occur if the indicator light was red when the hearing aid was placed into the charger. To resolve this, reboot the hearing aid.

If the battery life is shortened, a battery replacement may be required. Contact your hearing care professional for assistance.

If the phone call function is not working, check the following:

• Cause: The hearing aid is in flight mode.

• Solution: Switch the hearing aid off and then on again to exit flight mode.

• Cause: The hearing aid is not paired to the phone.

• Solution: Pair the hearing aid to the phone.

If charging does not start:

• When not using a Power Pack: Ensure the charger is connected to a power supply and the hearing aid is inserted correctly into the charger.

• When using a Power Pack: The Power Pack may be discharged. Charge the Power Pack.
