Your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312 hearing aids have color markings to distinguish between the left and right devices. The color mark is located on the battery door, on the shell as printed text, or the shell itself is colored.

Blue marking: Indicates the left hearing aid.

Red marking: Indicates the right hearing aid.

The battery door of your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312 hearing aid also functions as the on/off switch.

To turn ON: Close the battery door completely. You may hear a start-up melody when it switches on.

To turn OFF: Open the battery door.

1. Remove the protective sticker from the new battery and wait two minutes before inserting it.

2. Use your fingernail to carefully open the battery door. Do not force it.

3. Place the new battery into the battery door with the “+” symbol facing upwards.

4. Close the battery door.

If you have difficulty closing the door, check that the battery is inserted correctly with the “+” symbol facing up. If the battery is not inserted correctly, the hearing aid will not work and the battery door can be damaged.

If your hearing aid is paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone:

Accept a call: A short press on the push button.

Reject a call: A long press on the push button (more than 2 seconds).

If your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312 has a volume control wheel, you can adjust the volume as follows:

To increase volume: Turn the volume control wheel forwards (towards your nose).

To decrease volume: Turn the volume control wheel backwards (towards the back of your head).

Flight mode disables the Bluetooth connectivity functions of your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312 but does not disable normal hearing aid functionality. The hearing aids operate between the 2.4 GHz-2.48 GHz frequency range. When flying, check if the flight operator requires devices to be switched into flight mode.

To enter flight mode (for each hearing aid):

1. Open the battery door.

2. Hold down the push button for 7 seconds while closing the battery door.

In flight mode, your hearing aid cannot connect directly to your phone.

To exit flight mode (for each hearing aid):

1. Open the battery door.

2. Close the battery door again.

Daily cleaning and the use of a drying system are highly recommended for your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312. Never use household cleaning products like washing powder or soap. If your hearing aid is performing weakly or fails to operate, clean or replace the wax guard system. If the issue persists after cleaning and inserting new batteries, contact your hearing care professional for advice.

If your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312 is not working, check the following potential causes and solutions:

Cause: Dead battery.

• This hearing aid is not for children below 36 months. It contains small parts that can be a choking hazard. Supervise children and individuals with cognitive impairment when they are using the device.

• For users with active implantable medical devices (e.g., pacemakers), keep the wireless hearing aid at least 15 cm (6 inches) away from the active implant. If you experience interference, stop using the hearing aids and contact the implant manufacturer.

• Avoid strong physical impacts to the ear when wearing the hearing aids (e.g., during sports), as this could cause the in-the-ear shell to break and lead to injury.

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your PHONAK VIRTO M70-312, please follow these safety guidelines:

• Never immerse your hearing aid in water. Always remove it before showering, bathing, or swimming.

• Protect your hearing aid from heat. Do not leave it near a window or in a car. Never use a microwave or other heating devices to dry it.
