What are the steps for the hardware installation of my MOXA NPORT 5650-8-HV-T?

STEP 1: Attach Power Adapter

After removing the MOXA NPORT 5650-8-HV-T from the box, the first step is to attach the power adapter.

STEP 2: Connect the Power

AC Power: Connect the 100-240 VAC power cord to the AC connector. The “Ready” LED will show a solid red color until the system is ready, at which time it will change to a green color.

DC Power: Connect the power cord to the DC connector. For a model like the NPort 5610-8-48V, loosen the screws on the V+ and V- terminals of the terminal block. Connect the power cord’s 48 VDC or -48 VDC wire to the V+ terminal, and the DC Power Ground wire to the V- terminal, then tighten the screws. The “Ready” LED will turn solid red, then green when the system is ready.

STEP 3: Grounding the NPort (VDC models)

Grounding and wire routing help limit the effects of noise from electromagnetic interference (EMI). Run the ground connection from the ground screw to the grounding surface before connecting devices. For models like the NPort 5610-8-48V, the Shielded Ground (SG) contact is the second from the right of the 5-pin terminal block. Connect the SG wire to the Earth ground.

STEP 4: Connect to a Network

Use a standard straight-through Ethernet cable to connect the MOXA NPORT 5650-8-HV-T to a hub or switch. If connecting directly to a computer for setup or testing, use a cross-over Ethernet cable.
