Your MOTOROLA MBP55 package includes the following items:

In multi-camera packs, you will find one or more additional camera and power adapter units.

The MOTOROLA MBP55 Parent Unit has several buttons and components:

1. Display (LCD screen): Shows the video from the Baby Unit.

2. VIDEO ON/OFF button: Press to turn the LCD screen ON/OFF.

3. TALK button: Press and hold to speak to your baby.

4. RESET button (recessed): Use a small pin to reset the unit.

5. UP button: In Normal Mode, it tilts the camera up. In Menu Mode, it moves up through menu options.

6. DOWN button: In Normal Mode, it tilts the camera down. In Menu Mode, it moves down through menu options.

7. MENU button: Press to open or close the Menu options.

8. OK button: Confirms a selection in the menu.

9. Micro USB power adapter socket: Port for the power adapter.

10. LEFT button: In Normal Mode, it pans the camera left. In Menu Mode, it moves left along menu options.

11. RIGHT button: In Normal Mode, it pans the camera right. In Menu Mode, it moves right along menu options.

12. Charging LED: Blue when mains power is connected.

13. Parent Unit ON/OFF LED: Green when the unit is on.

14. Audio Level LEDs: Indicate the level of sound detected (Green, Amber, Red).

15. Volume buttons: Press -/+ to decrease/increase the volume level.

16. Power button: Press and hold to turn the Parent Unit ON/OFF.

17. Microphone: Captures your voice for the talk-back feature.

18. Stand: Allows the Parent Unit to be propped up.

19. Speaker: Emits audio from the Baby Unit.

The components of the MOTOROLA MBP55 Baby Unit are:

1. Photo Sensor (Night Vision Mode): Detects ambient light levels.

2. Camera Lens

4. Power LED: On when linked to Parent Unit; Flashes when searching.

To ensure the best performance from your MOTOROLA MBP55, follow these installation guidelines:

• To establish a radio link, you must be within range, which is affected by environmental conditions.

• Large metal objects (refrigerator, mirror, filing cabinet) or reinforced concrete between the units can block the radio signal.

• Signal strength can be reduced by other solid structures like walls, or by electrical equipment such as TVs, computers, cordless phones, or fluorescent lights.

• Other 2.4 GHz products like Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth systems, or microwave ovens may cause interference. Keep the Baby Monitor at least 1 meter away from these products, or turn them off if they cause interference.

• If the signal is weak, try moving the Parent and/or Baby Unit to different positions in the room(s).

• Choose a location for the Baby Unit that will provide the best view of your baby in their cot.

• Place the Baby Unit on a flat surface, such as a dresser, desk, or shelf, or mount the Unit to a wall securely using the keyhole slots on the underside of the stand.

• **NEVER** place the Baby Unit or cords in the cot or within reach of the baby. The unit and cords should be more than 1 meter (3ft) away.

• **Strangulation Hazard**: Children have STRANGLED in cords. Keep the cord out of the reach of children (more than 1m (3ft) away). Never use extension cords with AC Adapters. Only use the provided AC Adapters.

• Adult assembly is required. Keep small parts away from children.

• This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it.

• The Baby Monitor is not a substitute for responsible adult supervision.

• Keep the cords out of reach of children.

• Do not cover the Baby Monitor with a towel or blanket.

• Do not use the Baby Monitor near water or place it near a heat source.

• Only use the provided chargers and power adapters.

• The Parent Unit contains a built-in, non-user-accessible rechargeable battery. Do not try to replace it yourself.

1. Connect the small plug of the power adapter to the Baby Unit and the other end to a suitable mains power socket. Only use the enclosed power adapter (5V DC / 1000mA).

2. Slide the POWER ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The power LED will light up in Green.

3. To turn the Baby Unit off, slide the POWER ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.

The Baby Unit can operate for up to 3 hours without a power connection using its built-in rechargeable battery (Ni-MH 2.4V, 900mAh). Please charge the unit for at least 16 hours before the first use.

The Parent Unit has a built-in rechargeable battery (Lithium-ion 1880mAh) that provides up to 5 hours of operation. Charge it for 16 hours before initial use.

1. Connect the micro USB plug of the power adapter to the Parent Unit and the other end to a suitable mains power socket. Only use the enclosed adapter (5V DC / 1000mA).

2. Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to turn ON the Parent Unit.

3. Once both units are on, the Parent Unit will display video from the Baby Unit.

4. If there is no connection or you are out of range, a symbol will appear and the unit will beep.

5. To turn OFF the Parent Unit, press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button until the progress bar finishes.

When the battery icon turns RED, the battery is low and the unit will beep every 15 seconds. It will take 16 hours to fully recharge.

The Baby Monitor is pre-registered. Only re-register if the Baby Unit loses its link.

1. Press the MENU button on the Parent Unit.

2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button until the camera icon is highlighted, and the scan/view/add/del menu will pop up.

3. Press the UP or DOWN button to select ‘add’, and press the OK button to confirm.

4. The camera list (1/2/3/4) will pop up. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired camera number and press OK. “press PAIR on cam” will be shown. Note: A camera location with a * next to it is already in use and cannot be selected for a new registration.

5. Press and hold the PAIR button underneath the Baby Unit until the Parent Unit finds the camera, beeps, and “PAIR OK” appears on the screen. The video from the camera will then appear.

Pan and Tilt:

While viewing the camera feed, press the UP or DOWN buttons to tilt the camera. Press the LEFT or RIGHT buttons to pan the camera.

Talk Mode:

Press and hold the TALK button on the Parent Unit to talk to your baby through the Baby Unit’s speaker. The talk icon will be displayed on the screen.

Video ON/OFF:

Press the VIDEO ON/OFF button to turn the LCD screen on or off. The audio monitor will remain active.

Night Vision Mode:

The Baby Unit has 8 high-intensity infrared LEDs. When the photo sensor detects a low level of ambient light, the LEDs will automatically activate, and the screen on the Parent Unit will display in black and white. The night vision icon will be displayed at the top of the screen.

The temperature reading from the sensor on the back of the Baby Unit is displayed at the top of the LCD screen. The readings will turn RED if the temperature goes above 29°C / 84°F or below 14°C / 57°F. The reading will change to HH °C / °F if the temperature exceeds 36°C / 97°F, and to LL °C / °F if it drops below 1°C / 34°F. To change between Celsius and Fahrenheit, go to the menu, select the temperature icon, and use the UP or DOWN buttons.

Volume: Press the Volume – or + buttons to adjust the volume level from 0 to 8. Level 0 is OFF.

Brightness: Press MENU, navigate to the brightness icon, and press UP or DOWN to select a level from 1 to 8.

Lullaby Sounds: Press MENU, navigate to the lullaby (♫) icon, and press UP or DOWN to select from 5 sounds or turn it OFF.

Zoom: Press MENU, navigate to the zoom icon, and press UP or DOWN to select 1X or 2X Zoom.

Alarm: Press MENU, navigate to the alarm clock icon, and press UP or DOWN to select an alarm time (6h, 4h, 2h) or turn it OFF. The Parent Unit will beep for about 1 minute when the time is up.

Power Saving Mode: Press MENU, navigate to the screen timer icon, and press UP or DOWN to select auto video off after 5, 30, or 60 minutes when operating on battery.

View a camera:

Press the MENU button, navigate to the camera icon, select ‘view’, and then choose the desired camera from the list. Alternatively, you can directly press the OK button repeatedly to cycle through the available cameras.

Delete a camera:

Press the MENU button, navigate to the camera icon, select ‘del’ (delete), choose the camera you want to delete, select the checkmark, and press OK. You cannot delete the camera if it is the only one registered.

Scan camera:

This function is available when you have more than one camera. Press MENU, navigate to the camera icon, and select ‘scan’. The screen will then display images from different registered cameras, changing about every 12 seconds.

View multiple cameras on screen (Split Screen):

This function is available when you have more than one camera. Press MENU, navigate to the split screen icon, and select On. You can view multiple cameras on the screen, but only hear audio from one at a time. Use the directional buttons to switch which camera’s audio is active, indicated by a red frame. The TALK and lullaby functions work with the selected camera. Zoom does not work in multi-screen mode.

Clean the MOTOROLA MBP55 with a slightly damp cloth or an anti-static cloth. Never use cleaning agents or abrasive solvents.

For care:

• Do not clean any part of the product with thinners or other solvents and chemicals, as this may cause permanent damage not covered by the warranty.

• Keep the Baby Monitor away from hot, humid areas or strong sunlight, and don’t let it get wet.

If there is no display, try the following steps:

• Try recharging the Parent Unit or press the RESET button once.

• Reset both units. Press the RESET button on the Parent Unit and unplug both units’ electrical power. Then plug them back in.

• Ensure the unit is turned on. The green ON/OFF LED should be lit. Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn it ON.

• Make sure the correct camera is selected. Change the camera number if necessary.

• Check if the video display is turned on. Press the VIDEO ON/OFF button to turn it on.

• If operating on batteries, the display will go blank after 5, 30, or 60 minutes to save power. The unit is still active and will provide audio alerts. Press any button to reactivate the screen.

If the link is lost, try these troubleshooting steps:

• Try recharging or pressing the RESET button once on the Parent Unit.

• The Baby Unit may be too far away and out of range. Move the Baby Unit closer to the Parent Unit.

• Reset the units by disconnecting the Baby Unit from electrical power and pressing the RESET button on the Parent Unit. Wait about 15 seconds before reconnecting. Allow up to one minute for the units to synchronize.

• If necessary, re-register the units by following the pairing procedure.

• Your Baby and Parent Units may be too close. Move them farther apart.

• Ensure there is at least 1 to 2 meters between the two units to avoid audio feedback.

• If the Baby Unit is too far away, it may be out of range. Move it closer to the Parent Unit.

• Make sure the units are not near other electrical equipment, such as a television, computer, or cordless/mobile telephone.

• Use of other 2.4 GHz products, such as Wi-Fi® routers, Bluetooth™ systems, or microwave ovens, may cause interference. Keep the baby monitor at least 1.5m (5ft) away from these types of products, or turn them off if they appear to be causing interference.

• If the signal is weak, try moving the Parent and/or Baby Unit to different positions in the rooms.
