To charge the DJI OSMO MOBILE 7, connect a USB-C cable to the charging port on the gimbal. The product is fully charged when the Battery Level Indicator on the status panel turns off.

To unfold the DJI OSMO MOBILE 7, rotate the gimbal arm to the “ON” position. You can then extend the built-in tripod legs for stability.

Important notes:

– The built-in tripod is suitable for stable, level surfaces in windless environments. In other conditions, it is recommended to attach a DJI OM Grip Tripod (sold separately) to the bottom of the gimbal.

– Only the Osmo Mobile 7P has a built-in extension rod. If you extend it, make sure to adjust the Pan Motor to be level with the ground to ensure balance after the phone is attached.

First, attach the DJI OM Magnetic Phone Clamp to the center of your phone. Then, align the magnetic clamp with the mounting point on the gimbal’s roll motor. The clamp will snap into place magnetically.

A steady gimbal mode light indicates that the gimbal is stabilizing the phone. If the light is not displayed after you attach the phone, press the M button to enable stabilization.

1. First, download the DJI Mimo app on your phone.

2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.

3. Open the DJI Mimo app and it will search for nearby DJI devices.

4. Select your DJI OSMO MOBILE 7 from the device list to connect.

If the Bluetooth connection fails, try the following steps:

1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Remove any existing connections with the gimbal and forget the device.

2. Reset the Bluetooth on the gimbal. To do this, press the switch button, shutter/record button, and trigger simultaneously for more than one second.

3. Tap the new device name in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Once connected, relaunch the DJI Mimo app.

A prompt will appear in the DJI Mimo app when new firmware is available. Tap the prompt and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

Ensure that the Battery Level Indicator shows solid green before starting the update. Do not exit the DJI Mimo app during the update process.

If the update fails, restart DJI Mimo, reestablish the Bluetooth connection, and retry.

The DJI OSMO MOBILE 7 has several follow modes that determine how the gimbal follows your movements.

The status panel on the DJI OSMO MOBILE 7 has several indicators to show its status.

Power/M Button

– When powered off (folded): Press once to check the battery level.

– When powered off (unfolded): Press once to power on.

– When powered on: Press once to switch between gimbal modes. Press three times to enter standby mode (press any button to exit). Press and hold to power off.

Side Wheel (Osmo Mobile 7P)

– Press once: Switch between focus and zoom.

– Rotate: Control focus or zoom.

Zoom Slider (Osmo Mobile 7)

– Push once: Switch between preset zoom levels.

– Push continuously: Change zoom continuously.

Joystick

– Move vertically and horizontally to tilt and pan the mobile phone. The control direction can be set in DJI Mimo.

Shutter/Record Button

– Press once: Take a photo or start/stop recording.

– Press twice: Take a photo during recording.

– Press and hold: Burst shooting when in photo mode.

Switch Button

– Press once: Switch between front and rear cameras.

– Press twice: Switch between landscape and portrait modes.

– Press three times: Switch between photo and video modes.

Trigger

– Press once: Start or stop ActiveTrack.

– Press twice: Recenter the gimbal.

– Press three times: Rotate the phone 180 degrees in the horizontal plane.

– Press once, and then press and hold: Adjust the follow speed to fast mode. Release to exit.

– Press and hold: Enter lock mode. Release to exit.

Charging Port (USB-C)

– Used for charging the gimbal or charging a connected phone.

Combination Operation

– Press the switch button, shutter/record button, and trigger simultaneously for more than one second to reset the Bluetooth name and connection.

You can charge your phone using the gimbal’s battery.

– Make sure that the gimbal is sufficiently charged (the battery indicator shows yellow or green).

– Make sure that the gimbal is powered off.

– Connect your phone to the USB-C charging port on the gimbal using an appropriate cable.

– Certain phones are charged only after pressing the M button.

Follow these steps to store the device:

1. For Osmo Mobile 7P, retract the extension rod first.

2. Press and hold the Power/M button for two seconds to power off the gimbal. It will automatically rotate to the folding position.

3. Remove the phone and the magnetic phone clamp together.

4. Fold the tripod legs.

5. Retract the main body of the gimbal for compact storage.

For the next use, you can attach the phone and clamp as a whole and unfold the gimbal to start shooting.

To install the module, align it with the magnetic contacts on the phone clamp and it will attach magnetically. You can attach it facing you to capture photos or videos of yourself, or facing away to capture photos or videos of others. If the indicator does not turn on, check that the alignment marks on the gimbal and phone clamp are aligned.

To remove the module, simply press the release button and pull it away from the phone clamp.

Note: If the Multifunctional Module is idle for more than five minutes, it automatically enters sleep mode and the indicator turns off. To exit sleep mode, press the trigger on the gimbal.

The Multifunctional Module allows you to enable tracking in your phone’s system camera and third-party apps without using DJI Mimo. It supports tracking people only.

Tracking

1. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and connect to the gimbal.

2. Enable tracking by either showing a specific hand gesture to the module’s camera or by pressing the trigger once. The camera status indicator will turn solid green.

3. Adjust the composition as needed during tracking using the joystick. To pause tracking and recompose, show another hand gesture; the indicator turns solid yellow. Show the gesture again to confirm the new composition and resume tracking. To restore the default composition, press the trigger twice.

4. To stop tracking, show the stop hand gesture or press the trigger again. The indicator turns solid red.

For optimal gesture recognition, the subject should be 0.5m to 3m away from the tracking camera. During tracking, the subject should be between 0.5m and 8m away.

Shooting

Whether tracking is enabled or not, you can use a hand gesture to start a 3-second countdown for taking a photo or starting/stopping a recording. The indicator pulses yellow during the countdown.

Make sure the Multifunctional Module is properly installed. You can control the fill light using the buttons on the module itself, or with the side wheel if you have an Osmo Mobile 7P.

Using Module Buttons:

– To adjust brightness: Press the Brightness Control Button to cycle through brightness levels or turn it off.

– To adjust color temperature: Press the Color Temperature Control Button to cycle through different color temperature settings.

Using Side Wheel (Osmo Mobile 7P only):

– Press and hold the side wheel: Turn the fill light on or off.

– Press once: Switch between controlling brightness and color temperature.

– Rotate: Adjust the selected setting (brightness or color temperature).

The Multifunctional Module can connect to supported wireless microphone transmitters, such as the DJI Mic Mini.

1. Connect the Multifunctional Module to your phone using the appropriate USB-C cable. For iPhone 14 and earlier models, a USB-C to Lightning cable (sold separately) is required.

2. Enable Bluetooth pairing on the Multifunctional Module by pressing and holding the Color Temperature Control/Bluetooth Pairing Button for two seconds.

3. Power on the wireless transmitter.

4. Enable Bluetooth pairing on the transmitter.

5. Once paired, both the wireless microphone status indicator on the module and the indicator on the transmitter will turn solid green, and you can start recording.

Make sure the gimbal is sufficiently charged (the battery indicator shows yellow or green).

1. Connect the Multifunctional Module to the phone clamp and connect the module to your phone with a USB-C cable.

2. Press the M button twice to start charging the phone. Press it twice again to stop charging.

You can use DJI Mimo on an Apple Watch to view the camera feed, control the gimbal, and enable ActiveTrack remotely.

1. Pair the watch with your phone and install the DJI Mimo app on both devices.

2. Run DJI Mimo on the phone, connect to the gimbal, and enter the camera view.

3. Run DJI Mimo on the watch to start remote control.

Keep the devices within the Bluetooth range for the connection to remain stable.

– Put out any product fire using water, sand, a fire blanket, or a dry powder fire extinguisher.

– Never disassemble or pierce the product in any way or the battery may leak, catch fire, or explode.

– It is recommended to use a soft, dry cloth to clean the product.

– When the phone is attached to the gimbal, the compass feature of the phone may experience interference. In such cases, calibrate the compass according to the prompts in the phone.

– The NFC and wireless charging functions of the phone may be affected when the phone clamp is attached. These functions will no longer be affected once the phone clamp has been removed.

– The built-in extension rod (Osmo Mobile 7P only) contains a spring. If it is extended for more than a week, the spring may become deformed. It is recommended to retract the extension rod and fold the gimbal after use.
