The JBL BAR 500MK2 soundbar has the following connectors:

1. Power connector: For the main power supply.

2. USB connector: Type-A port rated for 5V DC, 500mA. (USB playback is available in the US version. For other versions, USB is for service only).

3. HDMI input: For connecting an external source like a gaming console or Blu-ray player.

4. HDMI OUT (TV ARC / TV eARC): For connecting to your television’s ARC or eARC port.

5. Optical input: For connecting to a TV or other device using an optical audio cable.

The remote control for the JBL BAR 500MK2 has the following functions:

1. On/Standby: Turns the soundbar on or off.

2. Volume +/-: Increases or decreases the volume.

3. Mute / Unmute: Mutes or unmutes the audio.

4. Dolby Atmos®: Adjusts the Dolby Atmos® effect level.

5. Bass: Adjusts the bass level of the subwoofer.

6. Sound calibration: Initiates the audio calibration process.

7. Moment (Quick access): Accesses a saved custom setting.

8. HDMI Input source: Switches the input to the HDMI IN port.

9. Bluetooth source: Switches the input to Bluetooth mode for pairing.

10. TV source: Switches to the TV audio input (HDMI ARC/eARC or Optical).

To wall mount your JBL BAR 500MK2, follow these steps:

1. Use the provided wall-mounting template to mark the screw hole locations on your wall. The distance between the mounting holes is 600mm / 23.6″.

2. Drill holes and install the provided wall anchors and screws. Ensure the screws have a head diameter of 4mm/0.16″, a shank diameter of ≤8mm/0.31″, and a length of ≥30mm/1.18″.

3. Fasten the two L-shaped wall-mount brackets to the bottom of the soundbar.

4. Hang the soundbar onto the screws you have installed in the wall.

To connect your JBL BAR 500MK2 to a TV that supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel):

1. Use the included HDMI cable to connect the port labeled ‘HDMI OUT (TV ARC / TV eARC)’ on the soundbar to the port labeled ‘HDMI eARC’ on your television.

2. If you have an external device like a Blu-ray player, connect it to the ‘HDMI IN’ port on the soundbar.

To connect your JBL BAR 500MK2 to a TV that supports ARC (Audio Return Channel):

1. Use an HDMI cable to connect the port labeled ‘HDMI OUT (TV ARC / TV eARC)’ on the soundbar to the port labeled ‘HDMI ARC’ on your television.

2. To pass through video from an external device, connect it to the ‘HDMI IN’ port on the soundbar, and then connect a separate HDMI cable from the ‘HDMI OUT’ on the soundbar to a standard HDMI input on your TV.

Plug the provided power cords into the back of the soundbar and the subwoofer. Then, plug both cords into working electrical outlets. The soundbar and subwoofer will automatically power on and pair with each other.

For the best sound experience, you should calibrate the audio for your room’s environment. Follow these steps:

1. Ensure the soundbar and subwoofer are placed in your main listening area.

2. On the remote control, press the sound calibration button. The soundbar display will show “CALIBRATION”.

3. Press the button again to confirm and start the process. The soundbar will emit a series of tones to measure the room’s acoustics.

4. Once finished, the display will show “DONE”.

Please note: During sound calibration, environmental sound will be recorded. For the US version only, you can hold the calibration button for 10 seconds and then press it again to play back the recorded audio.

To set up your speaker on a Wi-Fi network, connect your Android™ or iOS device to your home Wi-Fi network. Then, download the JBL ONE app and follow the app instructions to complete the speaker setup. The availability of features will vary between countries and not all features may be available in your country.
