Please adhere to the following safety information when operating your HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM:

General Safety:

• Ensure the socket is securely grounded and the water source connection is reliable.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

• Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

• Use the new hose-sets supplied with the appliance; old hose-sets should not be reused.

Installation & Ventilation:

• For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, a carpet must not obstruct the openings.

• Adequate ventilation must be provided to avoid the backflow of gases into the room from appliances burning other fuels, including open fires.

• The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side to that of the tumble dryer, in such a way that a full opening of the tumble dryer door is restricted.

Water Pressure:

• The maximum permissible inlet water pressure is 1 MPa.

• The minimum permissible inlet water pressure is 0.1 MPa for correct operation.

Usage Precautions:

• Do not use the tumble dryer if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

• Do not dry unwashed items. Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.

• Items like foam rubber, shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles, and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

• Fabric softeners should be used as specified by their instructions.

• Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches before washing.

• WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.

• This appliance is for private domestic use only and is intended for household and similar applications.

Before using your new HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM washing machine, you must prepare it correctly.

1. Removing the packaging and inspection:

• After unpacking, ensure the washing machine is undamaged. If in doubt, do not use it.

• Check that all accessories and supplied parts are present.

• Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

2. Remove the transport bolts:

• The machine is fitted with transport bolts to prevent interior damage during transport. It is imperative that these are removed before use.

• After removal, cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps.

3. Install the washing machine:

• Move the appliance without lifting it by the worktop.

• Install it on a solid, level floor surface, preferably in a corner.

• Ensure all four feet are stable and resting on the floor. Check that the machine is perfectly level with a spirit level.

• Ensure ventilation openings in the base are not obstructed by a carpet.

4. Connect the water inlet:

• Connect the water supply inlet hose according to local water company regulations. The water tap should be a 3/4 threaded hose connector. Depending on your model, you may have a single inlet for cold water only, or a dual inlet for hot and cold water.

5. Connect the drain hose:

• Connect the drain hose to a siphon or hook it over the edge of a sink using the supplied “U” bend.

• If connected to an integrated drainage system, ensure it has a vent to prevent siphoning.

• Secure the drain hose to prevent it from moving and causing scalding during drainage.

6. Electrical Connection:

• The appliance must be connected to a socket with an earth connection. Do not use extension leads or multiple sockets.

• Ensure the socket capacity is powerful enough to drive the machine during heating.

To remove any residual water used during testing by the manufacturer, it is recommended to carry out a short wash cycle without any laundry. Follow these steps:

1. Open the water tap.

2. Close the door of the HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM.

3. Pour a small amount of detergent (about 30 ml) into the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

4. Select and start a short programme.

1. Sort the laundry:

• By type of fabric / care label symbol: Cottons, mixed fibres, easy care/synthetics, wool, handwash items.

• By colour: Separate coloured and white items. Wash new coloured articles separately.

• By size (Loading): Wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficiency and distribution in the drum.

• For delicates: Wash small items (e.g., nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (e.g., bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip. Always remove curtain rings or wash curtains with the rings inside a cotton bag.

2. Empty all pockets:

• Coins, safety pins, etc., can damage your laundry and the appliance drum and tub.

3. Use Fasteners:

• Close zips and fasten buttons or hooks. Loose belts or ribbons should be tied together.

4. Perform Stain removal:

• Blood, milk, eggs, etc., are generally removed by the automatic enzyme phase of the programme.

• To remove red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, add a stain remover to the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

• Pre-treat heavily-soiled areas with a stain remover if necessary.

Always use a high efficiency, low foam detergent for a front load machine like the HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM.

The choice of detergent depends on:

• Type of fabric (cottons, easy care/synthetics, delicate items, wool). Note: Use only specific detergents for washing wool.

• Colour

• The wash temperature

• Degree and type of soiling

Where to put detergent and additives:

The detergent drawer has three chambers:

• Prewash chamber: Use for detergent for the prewash / soak cycle.

• Mainwash chamber: Use for detergent for the main wash, stain remover, and water softener (for water hardness class 4).

• Softener chamber: Use for fabric softener.

Notes:

• Too much detergent can cause excess foam, reducing washing efficiency. The machine may prevent spinning if it detects too much foam.

• Insufficient detergent may result in grey laundry over time and calcify the heating system, drum, and hoses.

• Liquid detergents can be used for programmes with prewash, but in this case, a powder detergent must be used for the main wash.

• Do not use liquid detergents when activating the “Start Delay” function.

In case of a power outage or other special circumstances where the door cannot be opened, you can use the emergency door lock lever located at the drainage pump door.

Note:

1. Do not operate when the machine is working normally.

2. Before proceeding, ensure the inner barrel has stopped turning, there is no high temperature, and the water level is lower than the clothing inlet. If the water level is high, drain the water first through the drain-away pipe or by slowly unscrewing the filter.

Operation Method:

1. Open the cover of the drainage pump door.

2. Pull down the lock lever with the help of a tool.

3. The door can then be opened.

Regular care and maintenance will keep your HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM in good working condition.

Appliance exterior and control panel:

• Can be washed down with a soft, damp cloth.

• A little neutral, non-abrasive detergent can also be used.

• Dry with a soft cloth.

Door seal:

• Clean with a damp cloth when necessary.

• Check the condition of the door seal periodically.

Detergent dispenser:

1. Press the release lever in the main wash compartment downward and remove the drawer.

2. Remove the siphon in the softener slot.

3. Wash all parts under running water.

4. Refit the siphon in the detergent drawer and fit the drawer back inside its housing.

Filter:

Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year. IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

2. Use a tool like a slotted screwdriver to open the small opening of the bottom baffle, then press the baffle downward to open it.

3. Place a flat container under the filter door and drain any residual water using the emergency drain pipe if available. Then, loosen the filter by turning it anti-clockwise and completely unscrew and remove it.

4. Clean the filter and the filter chamber.

5. Check that the pump rotor moves freely.

6. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

7. Reinstall the plinth.

Water supply hose:

• Check the supply hose regularly for brittleness and cracks and replace it if necessary.

Mesh filter for water connection:

1. Close the tap and loosen the inlet hose on the tap.

2. Clean the internal mesh filter and screw the water inlet hose back onto the tap.

3. Now unscrew the inlet hose on the rear of the washing machine.

4. Pull off the mesh filter from the washing machine connection with universal pliers and clean it.

5. Refit the mesh filter and screw the inlet hose on again.

6. Turn on the tap and ensure that the connections are completely water-tight.

If the washing machine will not start and no indicator lamps are on, check the following:

• Is the mains plug inserted into the socket?

• Is the wall socket functioning correctly? (You can test it with a table lamp or a similar appliance).

If the washing machine will not start and the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp flashes, check whether:

• The door is properly closed (child safety).

• The “Start/Pause” button has been pressed.

• The “Water tap closed” indication lights up. If it does, open the water tap and press the “Start/Pause” button.

If your HISENSE WDQY8014EVJM appliance stops during the programme, check the following:

• Has the door been opened? If the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp is flashing, close the door and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

• Is there too much foam inside? The machine may enter a “kill-foam” routine. It will automatically run again after a period.

• Has the washing machine’s safety system been activated? Check the display for a fault code and refer to the “Fault description table”.

If the machine vibrates during the spin cycle, check the following:

• Is the washing machine level and standing firmly on all four feet?

• Have the transport bolts been removed? Before using the machine for the first time, it is imperative that the transport bolts are removed.

Poor final spin results can be due to several factors:

• The washing machine has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy items are loaded (e.g., bathrobes), the system may automatically reduce the spin speed or even interrupt the spin completely to protect the machine. If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, remove some articles of laundry and repeat the spin cycle.

• Excessive foam formation may prevent spinning. Use the correct amount of detergent.

• Check that the spin speed selector has not been set to “0”.

Before contacting After-Sales Service, please follow these steps:

1. Try to remedy the problem yourself by consulting the “Troubleshooting Guide” and “Fault Code List”.

2. Restart the programme to check whether the problem has solved itself.

3. If the washing machine continues to function incorrectly after these checks, then call After-Sales Service.

Important: Transport bolts which are not removed can cause damage to the appliance. They must be removed before first use.

1. Screw off all transportation bolts for approx. 30mm with a wrench, following the direction of the arrow shown (do not fully screw them off).

2. Push the four transportation bolts inward in a horizontal direction to loosen them.

3. Pull out the transportation bolt together with its rubber and plastic part.

4. To ensure safety and reduce noise, install the supplied transportation bolt covers. Lean and place the cover into the hole and press it following the shown direction until it clicks.

Important: Keep the transport bolts and the wrench for future transporting of the appliance. If you need to move the machine again, refit the transport bolts in reverse order.

The appliance must be installed on a solid and level floor surface. If the floor is uneven, adjust the 4 levelling feet as required.

1. Slacken the locknut by turning it clockwise (see arrow) using the wrench.

2. Lift the machine slightly and adjust the height of the foot by revolving it. Turn it one way to make it higher and the other to make it lower.

3. Important: Once the machine is level, tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing to secure the foot in place. The maximum adjustment is 20 mm.

Connecting the Water Supply Inlet Hose:

1. If the water inlet hose is not already installed, it must be screwed to the appliance.

2. The blue marked hose is for cold water. Depending on the model, a hot water hose marked with red may also need to be connected for dual inlet models.

3. Screw the inlet hose onto the tap by hand, tightening the nut.

Attention:

• Ensure there are no kinks in the hose.

• The appliance must not be connected to the mixing tap of an un-pressurized water heater.

• Check the water-tightness of connections by turning the tap completely on.

Connecting the Drain Hose:

1. If the drain hose is installed on the rear clip, unhook it only from the right clip.

2. Connect the drain hose to the Drain or hook it over the edge of a sink using the “U” bend. If the “U” bend is not already installed, fit it to the end of the drain hose.

Notes:

• Ensure there are no kinks in the drain hose.

• Secure the hose so that it cannot fall down. The machine will drain hot water.

• Small hand basins are not suitable.

• The drain height must be between a minimum of 70 cm and a maximum of 125 cm.

• The maximum overall drain hose length is 2.50 m.
