Please adhere to the following safety guidelines when using your HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM washing machine:

1. Ensure the socket is securely grounded and the water source connection is reliable.

2. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning its safe use. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

3. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

4. Use the new hose-sets supplied with the appliance; old hose-sets should not be reused.

5. For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, ensure a carpet does not obstruct the openings.

6. The maximum permissible inlet water pressure is 1 MPa, and the minimum is 0.1 MPa for correct operation.

7. Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

8. Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, etc., should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.

9. Items such as foam rubber, shower caps, waterproof textiles, and rubber-backed articles should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

10. Fabric softeners should be used as specified by their instructions.

11. Remove all objects from pockets, such as lighters and matches.

12. WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.

13. The maximum washing capacity is 10/9/8kg. The maximum drying capacity is 7/6/5kg.

14. The appliance is for private domestic use and similar applications only.

Before operating your new HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM, please follow these steps:

1. **Removing the packaging and inspection:** After unpacking, ensure the washing machine is undamaged. Check that all accessories and supplied parts are present. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

2. **Remove the transport bolts:** The machine is fitted with transport bolts to prevent interior damage during transport. It is imperative that these are removed before use. After removal, cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps.

3. **Install the washing machine:** Place the appliance on a solid, level floor surface. Ensure all four feet are stable and resting on the floor, and check that the machine is perfectly level using a spirit level.

4. **Connect the water inlet:** Connect the water supply inlet hose according to local water company regulations. The water tap should have a 3/4 threaded hose connector.

5. **Connect the drain:** Connect the drain hose to a siphon or hook it over the edge of a sink using the supplied “U” bend. Secure the hose to prevent it from moving during drainage.

6. **Electrical connection:** This must be done by a qualified technician. The appliance must be earthed. Do not use extension leads or multiple sockets. Ensure the socket can handle the machine’s power requirements, especially during heating.

Important: Transport bolts which are not removed can cause damage to the appliance.

1. Using the supplied wrench, screw off all four transportation bolts for approx. 30mm (do not fully remove them yet).

2. Push the four transportation bolts inward horizontally to loosen them.

3. Pull out the transportation bolt together with its rubber and plastic part.

4. To ensure safety and reduce noise, install the transportation bolt covers supplied with the unit. Lean the cover and place it into the hole, pressing it until it clicks.

Important: Keep the transport bolts and the wrench for future transporting of the appliance. To refit, perform these steps in reverse order.

The HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM must be installed on a solid and level floor surface. If the floor is uneven, adjust the 4 leveling feet as required.

1. Slacken the locknut on each foot by turning it clockwise using the wrench.

2. Lift the machine slightly and adjust the height of the foot by revolving it. Turn it one way to make it higher, and the other way to make it lower.

3. Once the machine is level, tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing. The maximum adjustment height is 20 mm.

Installing the bottom cover can reduce the noise level. This only applies to some models.

1. Stick the acoustic wool to the side of the bottom cover plate with the letter “PUMP”.

2. Remove the surface paper from the double-sided tape at the four sides of the bottom plate.

3. Tilt the washer by 30°-40°. The side with the sound insulation should face upwards. Attach the ‘PUMP’ corner of the cover to the position of the pump in the washer.

4. Incline the machine to an angle of 40°. Insert the side with the oblique-angle notch between the two foot screws at the back of the machine. Ensure the plate contacts the bottom of the machine closely.

5. Press the double-sided tape on all four sides manually to secure the plate to the machine body firmly.

Follow these instructions for connecting the water supply inlet hose:

For Models with Dual Inlets (Hot & Cold):

1. Fix the red marked inlet hose to the hot water tap and to the inlet valve with the red filter on the rear of the machine.

2. Fix the other inlet hose (blue marked) to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve with the blue filter on the rear of the machine.

3. Make sure connections are tight and not inverted (e.g., cold fill into hot inlet).

For Connecting Only Cold Fill to a Dual Inlet Model:

1. You will need a Y-piece connector (purchased separately).

2. Fix the Y-piece connector to the cold fill tap.

3. Connect the two inlet valves on the rear of the machine to the Y-piece connector using the hoses provided.

For Models with a Single Inlet:

1. Fix the inlet hose to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve on the rear of the machine.

General Instructions:

Screw the inlet hose onto the tap by hand, tightening the nut. Ensure there are no kinks in the hose and check for water-tightness by turning the tap on completely.

1. If the drain hose is installed on the back of the machine, unhook it from the right clip.

2. Connect the drain hose to the drain, or hook it over the edge of a sink by means of the “U” bend. If the “U” bend (part E) is not already installed, fit it at the end of the drain hose.

Notes:

• Ensure there are no kinks in the drain hose.

• Secure the hose so that it cannot fall down.

• The drain height should be between a minimum of 70 cm and a maximum of 125 cm.

• Small hand basins are not suitable.

• The maximum overall drain hose length is 2.50 m.

In case of a power outage or other special circumstances where the door will not open, you can use the emergency door lock lever.

Note: Do not operate when the machine is working normally. Before proceeding, ensure the inner drum has stopped turning, the water is not hot, and the water level is below the door opening. If the water level is high, drain the water first.

Operation Method:

1. Open the cover of the drainage pump door (at the bottom front of the machine).

2. Using a tool, pull down the lock lever.

3. The door can now be opened.

To remove any residual water from manufacturer testing, it is recommended to carry out a short wash cycle without laundry.

1. Open the water tap.

2. Close the machine door.

3. Pour a small amount of detergent (about 30 ml) into the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

4. Select and start a short program.

1. Sort the laundry:

• **By fabric type:** Cottons, mixed fibres, easy care/synthetics, wool, handwash items.

• **By colour:** Separate coloured and white items. Wash new coloured articles separately.

• **For delicate items:** Wash small items (like nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (like bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip.

2. Empty all pockets:

Coins, safety pins, etc., can damage your laundry and the appliance drum and tub.

3. Close fasteners:

Close zips and fasten buttons or hooks. Tie loose belts or ribbons together.

4. Stain removal:

• For stains like blood, milk, and eggs, the automatic enzyme phase of the program generally removes them.

• For red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, add a stain remover to the main wash chamber.

• Pre-treat heavily soiled areas with a stain remover if necessary.

Loading the laundry:

1. Open the door.

2. Load articles one at a time loosely into the drum, without overfilling.

3. Close the door.

Always use a high efficiency, low foam detergent for a front load machine like the HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM.

Choosing a detergent depends on:

• **Type of fabric:** Cottons, easy care/synthetics, delicate items, wool. (Note: Use only specific detergents for washing wool).

• **Colour**

• **Wash temperature**

• **Degree and type of soiling**

Dosage:

Follow the dosage recommendations on the detergent pack. This depends on the degree of soiling, size of the wash, and water hardness in your area. Soft water requires less detergent than hard water.

Where to put detergent and additives:

The detergent drawer has three chambers:

• **Prewash chamber:** For prewash or soak detergent.

• **Mainwash chamber:** For main wash detergent, stain remover, or water softener (for water hardness class 4).

• **Softener chamber:** For fabric softener.

Notes:

• Too much detergent can cause excess foam, reducing washing efficiency and possibly preventing spinning.

• Insufficient detergent may result in grey laundry over time and calcify the heating system, drum, and hoses.

Appliance exterior and control panel:

• Can be washed down with a soft, damp cloth. A little neutral, non-abrasive detergent can also be used. Dry with a soft cloth.

Door seal:

• Clean with a damp cloth when necessary. Check the condition of the door seal periodically.

Detergent dispenser:

1. Press the release lever in the main wash compartment downward and remove the drawer.

2. Remove the siphon in the softener slot.

3. Wash all parts under running water.

4. Refit the siphon in the detergent drawer and fit the drawer back inside its housing.

Filter:

Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year. IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

2. Insert a removal tool like a slotted screwdriver into the small opening of the bottom baffle, press downward firmly, and open it.

3. Place a flat container under the filter door to catch residual water. Then, loosen the filter anti-clockwise and completely unscrew and remove it.

4. Clean the filter and the filter chamber.

5. Check that the pump rotor moves freely.

6. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

7. Reinstall the plinth.

Water supply hose mesh filter:

1. Close the tap and loosen the inlet hose on the tap.

2. Clean the internal mesh filter and screw the water inlet hose back onto the tap.

3. Now unscrew the inlet hose on the rear of the washing machine.

4. Pull off the mesh filter from the washing machine connection with universal pliers and clean it.

5. Refit the mesh filter and screw the inlet hose on again.

6. Turn on the tap and ensure that the connections are completely water-tight.

If your HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM will not start and no lights are on, check whether:

• The mains plug is inserted into the socket.

• The wall socket is functioning correctly (test it with a table lamp or a similar appliance).

If the machine will not start and the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp flashes, check whether:

• The door is properly closed (child safety).

• The “Start/Pause” button has been pressed.

• The “Water tap closed” indication lights up. If so, open the water tap and press the “Start/Pause” button.

If your HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM vibrates during the spin cycle, check whether:

• The washing machine is level and standing firmly on all four feet.

• The transport bolts have been removed. Before using the machine, it is imperative that the transport bolts are removed.

The HISENSE WDQA9014EVJM has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy items are loaded (e.g., bathrobes), this system may automatically reduce the spin speed or even interrupt the spin completely to protect the machine. This can result in laundry that is still too wet.

• If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, remove some articles of laundry and repeat the spin cycle.

• Excessive foam formation may also prevent spinning. Use the correct amount of detergent.

• Check that the spin speed selector has not been set to “0”.

This code means the machine is not fed with water or has insufficient water. Check:

• The faucet is fully open and has enough water pressure.

• The water inlet pipe is not knotted.

• The filtering net of the water inlet pipe is not blocked (refer to maintenance).

• The water pipe is not frozen.

After the fault is resolved, press the “Start/Pause” key. If the fault occurs again, please contact after-sale service.

This code means the washer is not emptying. The washer stops the program. Shut down the machine and disconnect the power supply. Check:

• The drain pipe is not knotted.

• The filter in the drain pump is not blocked (refer to cleaning the filter). IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining.

• The drain hose is not frozen.

Plug the appliance in again. Select and start the “Spin” program or push the “Start/Pause” button for at least 3 seconds to restart the desired program. If the fault occurs again, please contact After-Sales Service.

If “F13” is shown (Door lock fault):

The door lock is abnormal. Start a program for 20 seconds to unlock the door and check if it is closed properly. Open and close it again. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”. If the fault persists, contact after-sale service.

If “F14” is shown (Door open fault):

Press the “Start/Pause” button. The machine will try to open the door. The alarm will remain until the door is unlocked. Alternatively, turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds, then choose the desired program to start again.

If “F24” is shown (Overflow level):

The water level has reached the overflow level. Remove it by pressing the “Start/Pause” key. Select and start the required program. If the fault persists, contact after-sale service.

If “F04” to “F98” is shown (Electronic module fault):

Turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”. If the fault persists, disconnect the power supply and contact after-sale service.

The “Unb” code indicates an unbalance alarm. This can be solved by the following methods:

1. Laundry winding:

Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, shake the clothes to untangle them, and put them back into the washing machine. Then, select the single dewatering program to dry again.

2. Too light-weighted laundry:

Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, put in one or two towels, and then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

Never lift the appliance by the worktop when transporting.

1. Pull out the mains plug.

2. Turn off the tap.

3. Disconnect the inlet and drain hoses.

4. Eliminate all water from the hoses and from the appliance (see instructions for cleaning the filter and draining residual water).

5. Fit the transport bolts (obligatory). You will need the bolts and wrench you saved from the initial installation.

6. The machine is over 55 kg in weight; two persons are needed to move it.
