Before operating your new HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM washing machine, please adhere to the following safety instructions:

• Ensure the socket is securely grounded and the water source connection is reliable.

• Children under 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. All children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

• Use the new hose-sets supplied with the appliance; old hose-sets should not be reused.

• For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, ensure a carpet does not obstruct the openings.

• The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device like a timer or a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

• Do not use industrial chemicals for cleaning.

• Lint must not be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer.

• Ensure adequate ventilation to avoid the backflow of gases from other fuel-burning appliances, including open fires.

• Remove all objects from pockets, such as lighters and matches, before washing.

• WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate the heat.

For safety and to prevent damage, please observe the following guidelines for the tumble dryer function of your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM:

• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

• Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers should first be washed in hot water with extra detergent before being dried.

• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles, and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

The maximum capacities for the HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM vary by model:

• The maximum washing capacity is 10/9/8kg.

• The maximum drying capacity is 7/6/5kg.

After unpacking your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the washing machine is undamaged. If in doubt, do not use it and contact After-Sales Service.

2. Check that all accessories and supplied parts are present.

3. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene parts, etc.) out of reach of children as they can be dangerous.

It is imperative that you remove the transport bolts before using the HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM to prevent damage. Keep the bolts for future transport.

1. Use the supplied wrench to screw off all transportation bolts by approximately 30mm. Do not fully remove them yet.

2. Push the four transportation bolts inward in a horizontal direction to loosen them.

3. Pull out the transportation bolt together with its rubber and plastic part.

4. To ensure safety and reduce noise, install the supplied transportation bolt covers. Lean the machine and place the cover into the hole, pressing it until it clicks into place.

5. After removing the transport bolts, cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps.

For proper installation of your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM, follow these steps:

1. Move the appliance without lifting it by the worktop.

2. Install the appliance on a solid and level floor surface, preferably in a corner of the room.

3. Ensure that all four feet are stable and resting on the floor. Check that the washing machine is perfectly level using a spirit level.

4. If the floor is uneven, adjust the 4 leveling feet as required. Do not insert pieces of wood under the feet. To adjust, slacken the locknut clockwise with the wrench, lift the machine slightly, and revolve the foot to adjust its height. Then, tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing.

5. Ensure that the ventilation openings in the base of the washing machine (if available on your model) are not obstructed by a carpet or other material.

Water Inlet Connection:

1. Connect the water supply inlet hose according to the regulations of your local water company. Your model may have a single inlet (cold water only) or a dual inlet (hot and cold water).

2. The water tap should have a 3/4 threaded hose connector.

3. For dual inlet models, connect the red marked hose to the hot water tap and the other hose to the cold water tap. Do not invert their positions.

4. For single inlet models, connect the hose to the cold water tap.

5. Ensure there are no kinks in the hose and that all connections are tight.

Drain Hose Connection:

1. Connect the drain hose to the siphon or hook it over the edge of a sink using the supplied “U” bend.

2. If connecting to an integrated drainage system, ensure it has a vent to avoid a siphoning effect.

3. Fix the drain hose securely to prevent it from moving during drainage.

4. The height for draining should be between 70 cm (min) and 125 cm (max).

5. The maximum overall drain hose length is 2.50 m.

Electrical connections for the HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM must be carried out by a qualified technician, following these guidelines:

• Only use a socket with an earth connection.

• Do not use extension leads or multi-sockets.

• The electric supply must be adequate for the machine’s 10 A Current Rating.

• The appliance must be earthed by law. The manufacturer declines liability for damage or injury due to non-compliance.

• After installation, access to the mains plug or disconnection via a double-pole switch must be possible at all times.

• Data regarding voltage and power consumption is on the inside of the door.

In case of a power outage or other circumstances where the door cannot be opened, you can use the emergency door lock lever located at the drainage pump door.

Note: Do not use this when the machine is working normally. Before proceeding, ensure the inner drum has stopped turning, there is no high temperature, and the water level is below the clothing inlet.

1. If the water level is high, drain the water first. You can do this via the drain-away pipe (if available) or by slowly unscrewing the filter to let the water out.

2. Open the cover of the drainage pump door (at the bottom of the machine).

3. Using a tool, pull down the lock lever. The door can then be opened.

To remove any residual water from manufacturing tests, it is recommended to carry out a short wash cycle without any laundry before the first use.

1. Open the water tap.

2. Close the machine door.

3. Pour a small amount of detergent (about 30 ml) into the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

4. Select and start a short programme.

Properly preparing your laundry will improve washing results.

1. Sort the laundry:

• By fabric type: Cottons, mixed fibres, synthetics, wool, handwash items.

• By colour: Separate coloured and white items. Wash new coloured items separately.

• By size: Wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficiency and distribution in the drum.

2. Empty all pockets: Remove items like coins and safety pins, which can damage your laundry and the appliance.

3. Close fasteners: Close zips, fasten buttons or hooks, and tie any loose belts or ribbons together.

4. Handle delicates: Wash small items (e.g., nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (e.g., bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip.

5. Pre-treat stains: For stains like red wine, coffee, or grass, add a stain remover to the main wash chamber. Pre-treat heavily-soiled areas if necessary.

The detergent drawer on your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM has three chambers for different products:

• Prewash chamber: For detergent used in a prewash or soak cycle.

• Mainwash chamber: For detergent for the main wash. You can also add stain remover or water softener (for water hardness class 4) in this chamber.

• Softener chamber: For fabric softener.

Always use high efficiency, low foam detergent for a front load machine. Follow the dosage recommendations on the detergent package.

To clean the detergent dispenser, follow these steps:

1. Press the release lever located in the main wash compartment downward and pull the drawer out.

2. Remove the siphon from the softener slot.

3. Wash all parts under running water.

4. Refit the siphon into the detergent drawer and slide the drawer back into its housing.

It is recommended to check and clean the filter at least two or three times a year, especially if the appliance is not draining properly or fails to perform spin cycles.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the water in the machine has cooled before draining.

1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

2. Use a tool like a slotted screwdriver to press down and open the small opening of the bottom baffle (plinth).

3. Place a flat container under the filter door. If your model has an emergency drain pipe, use it to drain the residual water into the container. Then, loosen the filter by turning it anticlockwise.

4. Completely unscrew and remove the filter.

5. Clean the filter and the filter chamber thoroughly.

6. Check that the pump rotor inside moves freely.

7. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

8. Reinstall the plinth.

Check and clean the mesh filter regularly to ensure proper water flow.

1. Close the water tap and loosen the inlet hose from the tap.

2. Clean the internal mesh filter at the tap end and screw the hose back onto the tap.

3. Now, unscrew the inlet hose from the rear of the washing machine.

4. Using universal pliers, carefully pull the mesh filter out from the machine’s connection point and clean it.

5. Refit the mesh filter and screw the inlet hose back on again.

6. Turn on the tap fully and ensure that all connections are completely water-tight.

If your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM will not start, check the following:

If no indicator lamps are on:

• Check that the mains plug is inserted into the socket.

• Check that the wall socket is functioning correctly by testing it with a table lamp or similar appliance.

If the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp flashes:

• Check that the door is properly closed (child safety).

• Make sure the “Start/Pause” button has been pressed.

• Check if the “Water tap closed” indication is lit. If so, open the water tap and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

If your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM stops mid-cycle, check these possibilities:

• The “Start/Pause” indicator lamp is flashing, which may mean the door has been opened. Close the door and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

• There may be too much foam inside. The machine will enter a “kill-foam” routine and will automatically run again after a period.

• The machine’s safety system may have been activated. Check the display for a fault code and refer to the “Fault description table”.

If the machine vibrates during the spin cycle, check the following:

• Ensure the washing machine is level and standing firmly on all four feet. Adjust the feet if necessary.

• Verify that the transport bolts have been removed. It is imperative that these are removed before using the machine.

Poor final spin results can be due to several factors:

• The washing machine has an imbalance detection system. If a heavy item (like a bathrobe) is loaded, the system may reduce the spin speed or interrupt the spin to protect the machine. If laundry is still too wet, remove some items and repeat the spin cycle.

• Excessive foam formation can prevent spinning. Use the correct amount of detergent for your load size and water hardness.

• Check that the spin speed selector has not been set to “0”.

If your HISENSE WDQY1014EVJM stops and displays a code, refer to the list below. The washer will stop the program when a fault occurs.

For “F01” (Water inflow fault):

This means the machine is not filling with water or has insufficient water. Check:

• The faucet is fully open and has enough water pressure.

• The water inlet pipe is not knotted.

• The filtering net of the water inlet pipe is not blocked (refer to maintenance).

• The water pipe is not frozen.

After checking and resolving the issue, press the “Start/Pause” key.

For “F03” (Drainage fault):

This means the washer is not emptying. Shut down the machine and disconnect power. Check:

• The drain pipe is not knotted.

• The filter in the drain pump is not blocked (refer to maintenance for cleaning instructions). IMPORTANT: Ensure water has cooled before draining.

• The drain hose is not frozen.

After resolving, plug the appliance in again. Select and start the “Spin” programme or push the “Start/Pause” button for at least 3 seconds to restart the desired programme.

If fault code “F13” is shown (Door lock fault):

The door lock is abnormal. Start a program for 20 seconds to try and unlock the washer door. Check if the door is closed properly. Open or close it again. After the fault is removed, press the “Start/Pause” key.

If fault code “F14” is shown (Door open fault):

Action: Press the “Start/Pause” button. The machine will try to open the door. The alarm will not be removed until the door is unlocked. Alternatively, turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine, then choose the desired programme to start.

If fault code “F24” is shown (Overflow fault):

The water level has reached the overflow level. Remove it by pressing the “Start/Pause” key to drain the water. Then select and start the required program.

If fault code “Unb” is shown (Unbalance alarm):

This indicates an unbalanced load. Try one of the following methods:

1. Laundry winding: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, shake the clothes to untangle them, and put them back into the machine. Then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

2. Too light-weighted laundry: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds. Open the door, put in one or two towels, and then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

If fault codes from “F04” to “F98” are shown (Electronic module fails):

1. Turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine.

2. After the fault is removed, press the “Start/Pause” key. If the fault occurs again, disconnect the power supply and contact after-sale service.

Before calling for service, please follow these steps:

1. Try to remedy the problem yourself by consulting the “Troubleshooting Guide”.

2. Restart the programme to check whether the problem has solved itself.

3. If the washing machine continues to function incorrectly after these checks, then call After-Sales Service.
