Please follow these safety instructions when using your HISENSE WDQA1014EVJM washing machine:

1. Before operating, read the instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.

2. Ensure the socket is grounded securely and the water source connection is reliable.

3. This appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

4. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

5. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

7. The new hose-sets supplied with the appliance are to be used and that old hose-sets should not be reused.

8. For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, a carpet must not obstruct the openings.

9. The maximum permissible inlet water pressure is 1 MPa, and the minimum is 0.1 MPa.

10. The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer.

11. Do not use industrial chemicals for cleaning.

12. Lint must not be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer.

13. Adequate ventilation must be provided to avoid the backflow of gases from other fuel-burning appliances.

14. Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

15. Items soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before being dried.

16. Items such as foam rubber, shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles, and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

17. Fabric softeners should be used as specified by their instructions.

18. Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.

19. Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.

20. The appliance is for private domestic use only and is intended for household and similar applications.

Before using your HISENSE WDQA1014EVJM washing machine, you must complete the following setup steps:

1. Removing the packaging and inspection:

• After unpacking, ensure the washing machine is undamaged. If in doubt, do not use it.

• Check that all accessories and supplied parts are present.

• Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

2. Remove the transport bolts:

• The washing machine is fitted with transport bolts to prevent interior damage during transport. It is imperative that these bolts are removed before use.

• After removal, cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps.

3. Install the washing machine:

• Move the appliance without lifting it by the worktop.

• Install it on a solid and level floor surface, preferably in a corner.

• Ensure all four feet are stable and resting on the floor. Check that the machine is perfectly level using a spirit level.

• Make sure ventilation openings in the base are not obstructed by a carpet.

4. Water inlet:

• Connect the water supply inlet hose according to local water company regulations.

• Depending on your model, you may have a single inlet (cold water only) or a dual inlet (hot and cold water).

• The water tap should have a 3/4 threaded hose connector.

5. Drain:

• Connect the drain hose to the siphon or hook it over the edge of a sink using the “U” bend supplied.

• If connected to an integrated drainage system, ensure it has a vent to prevent siphoning.

• Secure the drain hose to prevent it from moving and causing scalding during drainage.

6. Electrical connection:

• Connections must be done by a qualified technician.

• The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with an earth connection. The machine must be earthed by law.

• Do not use extension leads or multiple sockets.

• After installation, the mains plug or a double-pole switch for disconnection must be accessible.

The minimum housing dimensions required for installation are:

• Width: 615 mm

• Height: 855 mm

• Depth: Refer to the programme chart.

Packaging: The packaging material is entirely recyclable. Adhere to current local regulations when disposing of it.

Scrapping an old washing machine: The washing machine is built from reusable materials and must be disposed of in compliance with local waste disposal regulations. Before scrapping, remove all detergent residues, break the door hook, and cut off the power cable to make it unusable. This appliance is marked according to the European directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). It should not be treated as household waste but handed over to an applicable collection point for recycling electrical and electronic equipment.

The main parts of the HISENSE WDQA1014EVJM washing machine are:

1. Worktop

2. Control panel

3. Detergent dispenser

4. Door

5. Plinth covering pump access

6. Adjustable feet

Note that the control panel layout and appearance will depend on the specific model.

In case of a power outage or other special circumstances where the door cannot be opened, you can use the door lock lever at the drainage pump door for an emergency opening.

Note:

1. Do not operate when the machine is working normally.

2. Before proceeding, ensure the inner barrel has stopped turning, the water is not hot, and the water level is below the clothing inlet. If the water level is too high, drain the water first.

Operation method:

1. Open the cover of the drainage pump door.

2. Pull down the lock lever with the help of a tool.

3. The door can now be opened.

To remove any residual water used during testing by the manufacturer, it is recommended to carry out a short wash cycle without any laundry.

1. Open the water tap.

2. Close the door.

3. Pour a little detergent (about 30 ml) into the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

4. Select and start a short programme.

1. Sort the laundry:

• By type of fabric / care label symbol: Cottons, mixed fibres, easy care/synthetics, wool, handwash items.

• By colour: Separate coloured and white items. Wash new coloured articles separately.

• By size (loading): Wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficiency and distribution in the drum.

• Delicates: Wash small items (e.g., nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (e.g., bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip. Always remove curtain rings or wash curtains with the rings inside a cotton bag.

2. Empty all pockets:

• Coins, safety pins, etc., can damage your laundry and the appliance drum and tub.

3. Fasteners:

• Close zips and fasten buttons or hooks. Loose belts or ribbons should be tied together.

4. Stain removal:

• Blood, milk, eggs, etc., are generally removed by the automatic enzyme phase of the programme.

• To remove red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, add a stain remover to the main wash chamber.

• Pre-treat heavily-soiled areas with stain remover if necessary.

Always use a high efficiency, low foam detergent for a front load machine like the HISENSE WDQA1014EVJM.

The choice of detergent depends on:

• Type of fabric (cottons, easy care/synthetics, delicate items, wool). Note: Use only specific detergents for washing wool.

• Colour

• The wash temperature

• Degree and type of soiling

Dosage:

Follow the dosage recommendations on the detergent pack. They depend on:

• Degree and type of soiling

• Size of wash: For a full load, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For a half load, use 3/4 the amount for a full load. For a minimum load (about 1 kg), use 1/2 the amount for a full load.

• Water hardness in your area. Soft water requires less detergent than hard water.

Notes:

• Too much detergent can result in excess foam, reducing washing efficiency and possibly preventing spinning.

• Insufficient detergent may result in grey laundry and calcify the heating system, drum, and hoses.

The detergent drawer has three chambers:

• Prewash chamber: Use for detergent for the prewash / soak cycle.

• Mainwash chamber: Use for detergent for the main wash, stain remover, and water softener (for water hardness class 4).

• Softener chamber: Use for fabric softener.

Appliance exterior and control panel:

• Can be washed down with a soft, damp cloth.

• A little neutral, non-abrasive detergent can also be used.

• Dry with a soft cloth.

Door seal:

• Clean with a damp cloth when necessary.

• Check the condition of the door seal periodically.

Detergent dispenser:

1. Press the release lever in the main wash compartment downward and remove the drawer.

2. Remove the siphon in the softener slot.

3. Wash all parts under running water.

4. Refit the siphon in the detergent drawer and fit the drawer back inside its housing.

Filter:

Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year. IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

2. Insert a tool like a slotted screwdriver into the small opening of the bottom baffle, press downward, and open it.

3. Place a flat container under the filter door and drain any residual water using the emergency drain pipe if available. Then, loosen the filter anticlockwise, and completely unscrew and remove it.

4. Clean the filter and the filter chamber.

5. Check that the pump rotor moves freely.

6. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

7. Reinstall the plinth.

Water supply hose and mesh filter:

Check the supply hose regularly for brittleness and cracks.

1. Close the tap and loosen the inlet hose on the tap.

2. Clean the internal mesh filter and screw the water inlet hose back onto the tap.

3. Now unscrew the inlet hose on the rear of the washing machine.

4. Pull off the mesh filter from the washing machine connection with universal pliers and clean it.

5. Refit the mesh filter and screw the inlet hose on again.

6. Turn on the tap and ensure that the connections are completely water-tight.

If the machine will not start and no indicator lamps are on:

Check whether:

• The mains plug is inserted into the socket.

• The wall socket is functioning correctly (use a table lamp or similar appliance to test it).

If the machine will not start and the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp flashes:

Check whether:

• The door is properly closed (child safety).

• The “Start/Pause” button has been pressed.

• The “Water tap closed” indication lights up. Open the water tap and press the “Start/Pause” button.

Check whether:

• The door has been opened and the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp is flashing. Close the door and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

• There is too much foam inside, causing the machine to enter a kill-foam routine. The machine will run again automatically after a period.

• The washing machine’s safety system has been activated (see “Fault description table”).

Check whether:

• The cover grid of the softener chamber and the separator of the main wash chamber are correctly installed and clean.

• Sufficient water is entering. The mesh filters of the water supply could be blocked.

• The position of the separator in the main wash chamber is adapted to the use of powder or liquid detergent.

Check whether:

• The washing machine is level and standing firmly on all four feet.

• The transport bolts have been removed. Before using the machine, it is imperative that the transport bolts are removed.

The washing machine has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy items are loaded (e.g., bathrobes), this system may reduce the spin speed automatically or even interrupt the spin completely to protect the machine.

• If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, remove some articles of laundry and repeat the spin cycle.

• Excessive foam formation may prevent spinning. Use the correct amount of detergent.

• Check that the spin speed selector has not been set to “0”.

This is a normal function of the HISENSE WDQA1014EVJM, as it adapts to factors that can affect the wash programme time. Examples include:

• Excess foam formation.

• Load imbalance due to heavy items of laundry.

• Prolonged heating time due to reduced inlet water temperature.

Because of these influences, the time remaining is recalculated and updated. During the filling phase, the machine also determines the load and adjusts the initial programme time accordingly. An animation appears on the time display during these update periods.

For Models with Dual Inlets (Hot and Cold):

1. Fix the red-marked inlet hose to the hot water tap and to the inlet valve with the red filter on the rear of the machine.

2. Fix the other inlet hose (blue) to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve with the blue filter on the rear of the machine.

Ensure connections are tight and their positions are not inverted.

For connecting only the cold fill on a Dual Inlet model:

1. You will need a Y-piece connector (purchased separately).

2. Fix the Y-piece connector to the cold fill tap.

3. Connect both inlet valves on the rear of the machine to the Y-piece connector using the hoses provided.

For Models with a Single Inlet:

Fix the inlet hose to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve on the rear side of the machine.

For all connections, ensure that:

• All connections are tightly fixed.

• Do not allow children to operate, crawl on, be near or inside your washer.

The machine is not fed with water or has insufficient water. Check:

• Faucet is fully open and has enough water pressure.

• Water inlet pipe is not knotted.

• Filtering net of the water inlet pipe is not blocked (refer to maintenance).

• Water pipe is not frozen.

After checking and resolving the issue, press the “Start/Pause” key. If the fault occurs again, contact after-sale service.

The washer is not emptying, and the program stops. Shut down the machine and disconnect power. IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

Check:

• The drain pipe is not knotted.

• The filter in the drain pump is not blocked (refer to cleaning the filter).

• The drain hose is not frozen.

After checking, plug the appliance in again. Select and start the “Spin” programme or push the “Start/Pause” button for at least 3 seconds and restart the desired programme. If the fault occurs again, contact After-Sales Service.

If “F13” (Door lock fault) is shown:

The door lock is abnormal. Start the program for 20 seconds and unlock the door to check if it is closed. Open or close it again. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”.

If “F14” (Door open fault) is shown:

Press the “Start/Pause” button. The machine will try to open the door. The alarm remains until the door is unlocked. Alternatively, turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine, then choose the desired programme to start.

If “F24” (Overflow) is shown:

The water level has reached the overflow level. Remove it by pressing “Start/Pause” and feeding water. Select and start the required program.

If any other fault code from “F04” to “F98” is shown:

This indicates an electronic module failure. Turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”.

If “Unb” (Unbalance alarm) is shown:

1. Laundry winding: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, detangle the clothes, and put them back in. Then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

2. Too light-weighted laundry: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, put in one or two towels, and then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

If any fault persists, contact After-Sales Service.

Never lift the appliance by the worktop when transporting.

1. Pull out the mains plug.

2. Turn off the tap.

3. Disconnect the inlet and drain hoses.

4. Eliminate all water from the hoses and the appliance (see “Removing the Filter”, “Draining Residual Water”).

5. Fit the transport bolts (obligatory).

6. The machine is over 55 kg in weight; two people are needed to move it.

The following parts are supplied with your machine:

• Package with small items

• A: Instruction for use, installation guide, warranty card (depends on model)

• B: 4 plastic caps

• C: Wrench

• D: Inlet hose (inside the machine or already installed) – Cold inlet hose, and Hot inlet hose (if available, depending on models)

• E: “U”-bend (inside the machine or already installed)

• F: Bottom cover (depends on model)

Important: Transport bolts which are not removed can cause damage to the appliance.

1. Screw off all transportation bolts for approx. 30mm with the wrench, following the direction of the arrow shown (do not fully screw them off).

2. Push the four transportation bolts horizontally inward to loosen them.

3. Pull out the transportation bolt together with its rubber part and plastic part.

4. To ensure safety and reduce noise, install the transportation bolt covers supplied with the unit. Lean and place the cover into the hole and press it until it clicks.

Important: Keep the transport bolts and the wrench for future transporting of the appliance. To refit them, perform these steps in reverse order.

The appliance must be installed on a solid and level floor surface. If necessary, use a spirit level. If the floor is uneven, adjust the 4 leveling feet as required; do not insert pieces of wood under the feet.

1. Slacken the locknut clockwise using the supplied wrench.

2. Lift the machine slightly and adjust the height of the foot by revolving it higher or lower.

3. Important: Tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing.

The maximum adjustment is 20 mm.

A bottom cover is supplied with some models to realize quieter operation. The machine can be used without the cover.

1. For models with acoustic absorption wool, align and paste it along the right-angle impression on the bottom plate.

2. Stick the acoustic wool to the side of the bottom cover plate with the letter “PUMP”.

3. Remove the surface paper from the double-sided tape at the four sides of the bottom plate.

4. Tilt the washer by 30°-40°. The side with the ‘PUMP’ label should be attached to the corner of the cover corresponding to the pump’s position in the washer.

5. Incline the machine to an angle of 40° and let the side with the right-angle notch face towards the front of the washer. Insert the side with the oblique-angle notch between the two foot screws at the back of the machine completely. Ensure the plate contacts the bottom of the machine closely.

6. Press the double-sided tape on all four sides manually to secure the plate to the machine body firmly.

1. If the drain hose is installed on the back of the machine, unhook it from the right clip.

2. Connect the drain hose to a drain pipe or hook it over the edge of a sink by means of the “U” bend. Fit the “U” bend (E) to the end of the drain hose if it is not already installed.

Notes:

• Ensure there are no kinks in the drain hose.

• Secure the hose so that it cannot fall down. Hot water will drain out during the wash phase.

• The top of the drain outlet should be between 70 cm (min) and 125 cm (max) from the floor.

• Small hand basins are not suitable.

• To make an extension, use a hose of the same type and secure the connections with clips.

• The maximum overall drain hose length is 2.50 m.
