To ensure optimal performance of your HIKVISION DS-K1T607E, please follow these installation environment guidelines:

• If installing the device indoors, it should be at least 2 meters away from any light source and at least 3 meters away from a window or door.

• Ensure the ambient illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• Make sure the output of the external power supply fulfills LPS (Limited Power Source) requirements.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607E with a gang box:

1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, ensuring the datum line is 1.4 meters above the ground.

2. Drill holes according to the template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate to the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel of the device and remove the sheet to expose the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect it to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Re-install the sheet back onto the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to protect it from rain.

9. Optional: If your model includes a fingerprint module, insert it into the holes at the bottom of the main unit.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607E without a gang box:

1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, with the datum line 1.4 meters above the ground.

2. Drill 6 holes into the wall according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 on the mounting template.

3. Insert the screw sockets for the setscrews into the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes on the mounting plate with the drilled holes.

5. Remove the two screws on the device’s rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the mounting plate’s cable hole and connect to the external devices’ cables.

7. Re-install the sheet back onto the device using the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to keep rain out.

9. If your model has a fingerprint module, insert it into the holes at the bottom of the main unit.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

You must activate your HIKVISION DS-K1T607E before the first login. The default IP address is 192.0.0.64, the default port is 8000, and the default user name is admin. You can activate it using one of the following methods:

Activate via Device:

1. After powering on the device, the Activate Device page will appear.

2. Create a password and confirm it in the provided fields.

3. Tap Activate. The device will be activated.

Activate via SADP Tool:

5. Create a password and confirm it.

6. Click OK to activate the device.

After activating your HIKVISION DS-K1T607E, you need to configure the application and recognition modes.

Set Application Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, select an application mode from the drop-down list.

• Indoor: Select this for standard indoor installations.

• Others: Select this if you install the device indoors near a window or if the face recognition function is not working well.

2. Tap OK to save.

Set Recognition Mode:

2. Tap OK to save.

First Login:

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to bring up the password entry page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password you created.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page.

Login by Administrator:

After an administrator has been added to the device, only an administrator can log in.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate using the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

You can configure Network, Wi-Fi, RS-485, and Wiegand settings on the communication settings page.

1. Tap Comm. (Communication Settings) on the Home page.

To Set Network Parameters:

1. Tap the Network tab.

2. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway to input the parameters.

3. Tap OK, then tap the checkmark icon to save.

To Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

1. Tap the Wi-Fi tab.

2. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

4. Select an IP mode (Static or Dynamic) and input the required password and network details.

5. Tap OK, then tap the checkmark icon to save.

To Set RS-485 Parameters:

1. Tap the RS-485 tab.

2. Select the external device you are connecting (Controller, Unit, or Reader).

3. Tap the checkmark icon to save. The device will reboot automatically.

To Set Wiegand Parameters:

1. Tap the Wiegand tab.

2. Enable the Wiegand function.

3. Select a transmission direction (Output for access controller, Input for card reader).

4. Tap the checkmark icon to save. The device will reboot automatically.

You can add users and their authentication credentials (face, fingerprint, card, password) directly on the device.

1. From the home page, tap User, then tap + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the Employee ID and tap the Name field to input the user’s name.

To Add a Face Picture:

1. Tap the Face Picture field.

2. Position your face looking at the camera within the on-screen outline.

3. Tap Save to save the face picture. The maximum duration for this process is 15 seconds.

To Add a Fingerprint:

1. Tap the Fingerprint field.

2. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. When complete, tap Yes on the pop-up to save the fingerprint.

To Add a Card:

1. Tap the Card field.

2. Either enter the card number manually or swipe the card over the card swiping area to automatically populate the number.

To Add a Password:

1. Tap the Password field.

2. Create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters) and confirm it.

After adding credentials, you can set the user’s authentication mode, enable administrator permissions if needed, and tap the checkmark icon to save the user.

You can use a USB flash drive to import or export user data, pictures, and other parameters.

Export Data:

1. From the home page, tap Transfer.

2. Tap the data you wish to export (e.g., Export User Data, Export Face Pic.).

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the connected USB flash drive.

Import Data:

1. Plug a USB flash drive containing the data into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap the data you wish to import (e.g., Import User Data, Import Face Pic.).

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device.

Important Notes for Importing Pictures:

• The USB flash drive must be FAT32 formatted.

• Pictures should be saved in a root directory folder named “enroll_pic”.

• The picture file name must follow the format: Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg

• The picture format must be JPEG or JPG, with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels or more, and a file size between 60 KB and 200 KB.

You can set the attendance mode to control how attendance statuses (check in, check out, etc.) are recorded.

1. On the Home page, tap T&A Status.

2. Select an Attendance Mode:

• Disable: You will not view or configure attendance status on the initial page. The system will follow rules configured on a platform.

• Manual: After authentication, you must manually select an attendance status. If you do not select a status, the authentication will fail and not be marked as a valid attendance.

• Auto: The system will automatically change the attendance status according to a configured schedule. You need to set the schedule for each status (Break Out, Break In, etc.).

• Manual and Auto: The system automatically changes the status based on the schedule, but you can also manually change the status after authentication.

You can set various access control permissions from the device’s home page.

1. Tap ACS (Access Control Settings) on the Home page.

2. Edit the parameters as needed:

• Terminal Auth. Mode: Select the terminal’s authentication mode (e.g., Face, Card/Face, etc.). You can also customize combinations.

• NFC Anti-Cloning: Enable this to prevent the use of cloned cards for authentication.

• Door Contact: Set to “Open (Remain Open)” or “Close (Remain Closed)” based on your needs. Default is Close.

• Anti-Passback: When enabled, a person must authenticate according to a configured path set in the client software.

• Door Locked Time: Set the duration (1 to 255s) the door remains unlocked after successful authentication.

• Door Open Timeout Alarm: Set a time (0 to 255s) after which an alarm is triggered if the door is not closed.

• Continuous Failed Auth. Alarm: Enable this and set the maximum number of failed authentication attempts before an alarm is triggered.

3. Tap the checkmark icon to save the settings.

Upgrade Firmware:

1. Place the upgrade file named “digicap.dav” in the root directory of a USB flash drive.

2. Plug the USB flash drive into the device.

3. On the Home page, tap System, then go to the Maint. (Maintenance) tab.

4. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware. Do not power off the device during the upgrade.

Data Management:

1. On the Home page, tap Data (Data Management).

2. Tap the button for the action you want to perform:

• Delete All Events: Deletes all events stored in the device.

• Delete User Data: Deletes all user data in the device.

• Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings. The device will reboot.

• Restore to Default: Restores parameters to default but saves communication and remote user settings. The device will reboot.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window to confirm.

You can control door status remotely through the client software’s monitoring module.

1. Click Monitoring in the client software to enter the status monitoring page.

2. Select an access point group from the upper-right corner. The doors in that group will be displayed.

3. Click a door icon to select it. You can hold Ctrl to select multiple doors.

4. Click one of the following buttons to control the door(s):

• Open Door: Unlocks a locked door for one cycle. It will automatically re-lock after the set open duration.

• Close Door: Locks an unlocked door. Authorized users can still access it with credentials.

• Remain Open: Unlocks the door and keeps it unlocked. Anyone can access it without credentials.

• Remain Closed: Locks the door and keeps it locked. No one can access it, except for super users.

• Capture: Manually captures a picture from the device’s camera.

To ensure successful fingerprint scanning, please follow these recommendations:

Recommended Finger:

Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your finger should align with the center of the scanner.

Incorrect Scanning to Avoid:

• Placing the finger vertically.

• Using the edge of your finger.

• Placing the finger sideways.

Environment:

The scanner should be protected from direct sunlight, high temperature, humidity, and rain. If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it. You can try blowing on your finger to add moisture before scanning again.

Other Considerations:

• If your fingerprint is shallow or difficult to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods.

• If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. Try using a different finger.

For accurate and reliable facial recognition, follow these tips when collecting or comparing a face picture.

Position (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

Ensure you are at the recommended height (1.4 m to 1.9 m) and distance. Avoid being too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

Expression:

• Keep your expression natural, similar to a passport photo.

• Do not wear hats, sunglasses, or other accessories that might obstruct your face.

• Ensure your hair does not cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

Make sure your face is centered within the collecting window. Avoid being too close or too far, which would make your face appear too large or too small in the frame.
