The ELECTRO-HARMONIX X9 has the following features:

• Chromatic tuner with Guitar, Bass, Ukulele and Violin modes.

• Swivel clip to suit different angles.

• Auto power off function for maximum battery life.

• Reference pitch range 430-450 Hz.

1. Power/Mode button:

Short press to turn On. Press for 2 seconds to turn Off. When the device is on, short press this button to switch between the four different tuning modes: C (Chromatic), G (Guitar), B (Bass), U (Ukulele C), V (Violin).

2. Attach the tuner:

Attach the tuner to your instrument’s headstock using the clip. Different position sensitivity will vary.

3. Play a Single Note:

The display will show the note name and string number closest to the detected pitch. Tune the string until the VA display shows the correct string and note. The indication arrows and circle in the middle will show if the string is in tune.

The tuning visuals on the ELECTRO-HARMONIX X9 indicate the following:

• Pitch is flat: A yellow dot leads a low note from bottom to center.

• Pitch is high: A red dot leads a high note from top to center.

• In Tune: A perfectly tuned note is indicated by two green side dots and a green circle in the center.

The notes for each mode are as follows:

Chromatic: C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B

Guitar: 6E 5A 4D 3G 2B 1E

Bass: 5B 4E 3A 2D 1G

Ukulele C: 4G 3C 2E 1A

Violin: 4G, 3D, 2A, 1E

To adjust the default standard reference pitch (440Hz), press and hold the “Calibration 430-450Hz” button. You can adjust it anywhere from 430Hz to 450Hz.

When the battery level is running low, please use the included USB charging cable to recharge the unit. Connect the USB-C cable to the charging port on the tuner.

The ELECTRO-HARMONIX X9 uses a Li-Po battery. To reach the maximum battery life, please charge it before using it for the first time. If the device will not be used for a long time, please charge it at least once every 3 months to maintain battery health.

1. Observe all instructions carefully in the manual.

2. Do not to perform service operations beyond those described in the manual. Service is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as:

• Liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus

• The unit has been exposed to rain or moisture

• The unit does not operate normally or changes in performance in a significant way

• The unit is dropped or the enclosure is damaged

3. Do not place near heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, or appliances which produce heat.

4. Guard against objects or liquids entering the device. Do not use or place unit near water.

5. Clean only with a dry cloth.

6. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

If abused or misused, the rechargeable batteries may leak. In extreme cases, they may even present a risk of explosion, fire, heat, smoke or gas. EHX does not accept any liability for damage arising from abuse or misuse.

• Keep away from children.

• Only charge rechargeable batteries with chargers recommended by EHX.

• Observe correct polarity.

• Pack/store charged rechargeable batteries so that the terminals cannot contact each other (danger of shorting out/fire hazard).

• Do not expose to moisture.

• Switch rechargeable battery-powered products off after use.

• Only charge rechargeable batteries at ambient temperatures between 10°C/50°F and 40°C/104°F.

• When not using rechargeable batteries for extended periods of time, charge them regularly (about every three months).

• Do not mutilate or dismantle.

• Do not heat above 60°C/140°F, e.g. do not expose to sunlight or throw into a fire.

• Immediately remove rechargeable batteries from obviously defective products.

• Do not continue to use defective rechargeable batteries.

• Only use rechargeable batteries specified by EHX.

• Dispose of rechargeable batteries at special collection points or return them to your specialist dealer.

• Store the products in a cool and dry place at room temperature (approx. 20°C/68°F).

• Remove the rechargeable batteries if the products will not be used for extended periods of time.

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
