Plug in the machine and switch it on.

How do I connect the purifier to the MyDyson™ app?

Download the MyDyson™ app from the App Store or Google Play.

Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account and connect your purifier.

The app allows access to step-by-step setup and support, control over how and when your purifier operates, monitoring air quality with visual updates, and automatic software updates.

How do I turn the purifier on or off standby?

Press the Standby on/off button on your Dyson purifier or on the remote control to stop your machine. It will continue to monitor the air quality while in standby.

How does continuous monitoring work?

Continuous monitoring is turned off by default. When turned on, your Dyson purifier will gather air quality and temperature information, which is displayed on the LCD screen and in the MyDyson™ app, even when the machine is in standby. Press and hold the Auto mode button on the remote control for five seconds to turn continuous monitoring on. The LCD screen will indicate when it is on or off. It will remain active until you turn it off again using the same method.

How do I turn the Wi-Fi on or off?

Wi-Fi is on by default. To turn the Wi-Fi connection on or off, press and hold the Standby on/off button on your machine for five seconds.

How do I access the Information menu and what does it show?

Press the Information button (labelled ‘i’ on the remote) to scroll through the information being monitored by your Dyson purifying fan.

Information about particulate matter and filter levels is shown on the LCD screen. When a particular type of pollutant causes air quality to decrease, a symbol for that pollutant will show on the LCD screen.

The information available includes:

Indoor air quality – 12 seconds: Monitors the current air quality with a graph showing the last 12 seconds of data.

Indoor temperature: Monitors the ambient temperature.

Particulate matter (PM10): Shows levels of larger microscopic particles up to 10 microns in size, such as dust and pollen.

Particulate matter (PM2.5): Shows levels of microscopic particles up to 2.5 microns in size, including smoke, bacteria and allergens.

Filters: Shows the remaining filter life and indicates when filters need replacing.

Wi-Fi: Shows the current status of the connection to the Wi-Fi network.

How does Auto mode work?

Set your Dyson purifying fan to Auto mode by pressing the Auto button. The on-board sensors will intelligently adjust the settings of the machine according to the air quality.

Air quality: Your machine will pause purification when the target air quality has been reached and switch on again when the air quality levels drop.

Airflow speed: The airflow speed will automatically increase until the target air quality has been reached.

Press the Night mode and Sleep timer button (moon icon) on the remote control. In Night mode, your Dyson purifying fan will continue to monitor and respond to changes in air quality, but only using its quietest settings, and the LCD screen will be dimmed. Repeatedly pressing this button will also allow you to scroll through the Sleep timer options.

How do I change the HEPA+Carbon filter?

Before changing your filter, switch off and unplug your Dyson purifying fan.

The remaining filter life is displayed on the screen and will indicate when your non-washable filters need replacing. You can also check by pressing the Information button on your remote.

1. Push down on the buttons on either side of your machine to release the outer cover (shroud).

2. Push down on the tabs on the filter to remove it from the cover.

3. Push the replacement filter into the outer cover and make sure the tabs click securely into place.

4. Put the outer covers back into position on your machine and push firmly until they both click securely into position.

5. Plug in and switch your machine on.

6. Reset your filter life (see separate instruction).

How do I reset the HEPA+Carbon filter life?

It’s important to reset your filter life after you have replaced your filter. Press and hold the Night mode button (moon icon) on your remote control. The display on your machine will countdown from five, after which the filter life will be reset and your machine is ready to use.

How should I clean the purifier?

To always get the best performance, it’s important to regularly clean your purifier and check for blockages.

If your machine is dusty, wipe the exterior with a damp lint-free cloth.

Look for blockages in the air inlet holes on the filter cover and the small aperture inside the loop amplifier.

Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris from these areas.

Do not use detergents or polishes to clean your machine.

What should I do if the machine shows an error code?

If your machine shows an error code on the display, try turning it off using the power button and then turning it on again. If this doesn’t clear the error code, contact Dyson Customer Care. For more information and support for your machine, you can also use the MyDyson™ app or visit the Dyson support website.
