This applies to certain models only. When turning on the appliance for the first time, the clock will show 12:00. To set the clock, keep the Timer/clock button (P) pressed for more than 2 seconds.

A single press of the Timer/clock button (P) increases the time by one minute; keep pressing to increase with more speed. After 3 seconds of no button presses, the clock is set and the appliance returns to active mode.


How do I set the timer for auto-start on my DELONGHI ICM16210?

This applies to certain models only. If the timer is not set, the default timer is 6:00.

1. To set the timer, press the Timer/clock button (P). The clock icon will turn on.

How do I make coffee with the DELONGHI ICM16210?

Please note: The first time the appliance is used, all accessories and internal circuits must be washed by making at least two jugs of coffee without using pre-ground coffee.

1. Open the lid (E) and use the jug to pour clean cold water into the water fill compartment (F) up to the level indicated for the number of cups you want to make. You can check the level through the water level window (D).

2. Position the permanent filter (H) (if provided) in the filter holder (G). If your model does not have a permanent filter, use a paper filter (size 1×4).

3. Place the pre-ground coffee in the filter using the provided measure (C) and level it evenly. See the table for recommended quantities.

4. For models with a glass jug (A), close the appliance lid (E) and place the closed jug on the plate (I).

5. For models with a thermal jug (B), ensure the jug lid is closed before placing it on the base.

6. Press the On/stand by button (M) for switch models, or the AUTO button (O) for electronic models to start brewing. The coffee maker will beep when delivery begins and beep three times when it ends.


What are the recommended coffee quantities for the DELONGHI ICM16210?

The quantities given in the table are indicative and should be adapted to your personal taste and the type of coffee. Never exceed the maximum quantity of 10 measures. One level measure equals 1 tablespoon (5g).

How do I use the Aroma function on my DELONGHI ICM16210?

The Aroma function enables a process of percolation which releases the water in the filter more slowly, improving the flavour and aroma of the coffee.

For electronic models:

The taste of the coffee can be optimized by pressing the “My aroma” button (Q). This function enables a process of percolation which releases the water in the filter more slowly or quickly. You can loop between three different options:

One dot Light
Two dots Medium
Three dots Strong

For models with a switch:

To enable the function, press the AROMA button (L); the light on the button will come on. To disable the function, press the button again. It is recommended to use the AROMA button when you do not want to make a full jug of coffee.


How do I operate my DELONGHI ICM16210?

Electronic Models:

To start brewing, press the AUTO button (O). The white light indicates the coffee maker is operating and “BREW” appears on the display. To use the pre-set timer, press and hold the AUTO button (O) for more than 2 seconds. The clock icon will turn on, and the brew will start at the preset time.

Switch Models:

Press the On/stand by button (M). The light on the switch indicates that the coffee maker is operating. Coffee delivery will start after a few seconds.

For Models with Glass Jug:

If you leave the On/stand by button (M) pressed after percolation has finished, the plate will keep the coffee at the ideal temperature. The appliance goes off automatically 40 minutes after coffee delivery ends. To turn the plate off sooner, press the On/stand by button (M) again.

For Models with Thermal Jug:

To pour the coffee, press the button on the lid. To remove the lid completely, turn it as shown in the diagram. After percolation has ended, the appliance goes off automatically.


How do I clean my DELONGHI ICM16210?

Before cleaning, turn off the appliance, unplug it from the mains socket, and allow it to cool.

Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents. Just wipe the coffee maker with a soft damp cloth.

Never immerse the coffee maker in water as it is an electrical appliance.

The water tank filter (S) can be reached through the lid (E). Clean it when necessary.


How and when do I descale my DELONGHI ICM16210?

If the water in your area is hard, limescale can build up. You are recommended to descale the coffee maker every 40 coffee making cycles.

Descaling Indication:

Models with electronic controls: The Descale button (R) will flash.

Models with switch: The AROMA button (L) and On/stand by button (M) will flash simultaneously.

Descaling Procedure:

1. Always use special commercially available descaling products for drip coffee makers.

2. Dilute the descaling product in the jug, following the instructions on the descaler pack.

3. Pour the solution into the water fill compartment.

4. Place the jug on the warming plate.

5. Start the descaling cycle:

– For electronic models: Press the Descale button (R) and then press the AUTO button (O).

– For switch models: Press the On/stand by button (M) and AROMA button (L) simultaneously for more than 1.5 seconds. Percolate the equivalent of one cup, then turn the appliance off.

6. After descaling, rinse the appliance by operating it with water only at least 2 times (2 complete tanks of water).

Failure to clean as described above invalidates the guarantee. The appliance resets automatically after descaling is complete.

If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted.

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

• Green and yellow: Earth

• Blue: Neutral
