To start your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4, touch anywhere on the display. You can use your fingertip to touch, scroll, slide, or swipe to activate the various icons and images on the panel screen.

When you power up, you will see a “splash” screen, followed by an at-a-glance temperature and time status screen. The Home screen is your central connection to all your panel’s features. From here you can see the current water temperature, status messages, and access features and settings.

The panel features of the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 allow you to control various aspects of your spa. The main screen displays:

Home Screen: Shows current water temperature, status messages (like “Your water is heating to 100°F”), and provides access to settings and other functions.

Features and Functions Icons: These icons allow you to control jets, lights, audio (BBA3), and the circulation pump.

Navigation Bar (Bottom):

• Settings: Access all spa settings.

• Spa Information: View messages and spa details.

• Dark / Light Display: Toggle between dark and light screen modes.

• Invert Display: Inverts the screen colors.

• Relax Mode: Dims the screen to a simple temperature and time display.

Navigation Arrows: Arrows on the sides of the screen allow you to view more features or go back to the previous screen.

Relax Mode on the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 is a feature that simplifies the display. When activated, the screen shows only the current water temperature and the time. This mode also provides an “All Off” button to turn off all features at once and a “Home” button to return to the main home screen.

Your spa requires essential settings to provide optimal performance. Follow these steps to prepare your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 for first use:

6. “Adjust Water Temperature”

7. “Turn On The Jets”

You can find all settings from the Home Screen by touching the Settings icon.

Priming is performed during initial use and helps to clear the waterflow of trapped air. This prevents possible stoppage that can strain the system.

To prime the pump:

Step 1. Power up the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 during initial use to activate the pump priming mode. A message to prime your spa will be displayed.

Step 2. Touch each jet on and then off to see that air bubbles are purged. The jets will start up and clear air bubbles from the pipes.

NOTE: During priming, you can manually override and touch other lit features on the panel (lights, misters, blower, etc.). Components and features that are displayed dimmed cannot be controlled by your panel.

NOTE: At minimum, you will always see one pump active for continuous water flow and filtration through the system.

After priming, the spa screen displays the active features that your panel controls.

Connecting your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 to Wi-Fi delivers timely updates your system needs. Before you begin, have your Wi-Fi network name and password available.

To connect to Wi-Fi:

Step 1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, then scroll and touch Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi Screen will display “Not Connected” with available networks.

Step 2. Touch to connect your spa panel to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 3. A keyboard will display for you to type your network password. Enter your network password and touch Save. “Attempting to connect…” will display, and upon connection, the Wi-Fi screen will display with your newly selected network.

This process establishes your ControlMySpa (CMS) account and gives you access to the CMS App. You will need your 8-digit CMS Code from your spa dealer.

To register your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4:

Step 1. After connecting to Wi-Fi, touch the Back arrow to return to the Settings Menu.

Step 2. From the Settings Menu, touch ControlMySpa. The ControlMySpa information screen will display.

Step 3. Touch the Edit icon. The ControlMySpa keyboard will display.

Step 4. Enter the CMS Code supplied by your spa dealer, and then touch Save. The ControlMySpa screen will display a QR code.

Create a ControlMySpa Account:

Step 5. Leave the ControlMySpa screen open on your panel. Using your mobile phone, go to your App store and download “ControlMySpa.”

Step 6. Follow the in-app prompts to set up an account, and then select Setup Spa. Be sure to set up your spa account “by QR code.”

Step 7. Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 panel to complete Spa Account Setup.

Step 8. IMPORTANT: When you see “Account Setup Successful”, check your email to authenticate your account and complete this step.

It is important to update the software for your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4 and keep your system current.

To check for software updates:

Step 1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, then Software Update. The Software Update Screen will display.

Step 2. Touch Update. The Status will display “Getting Updates”, “Downloading”, “Installing”, and finally “Current” when the update is complete.

The time you set displays on the Home Screen and is used to automate functions like filter cycles. An iMessage icon displays when the time needs to be set and turns off after you set the time.

To set the time:

Step 1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, then Time. The Time Screen will display.

Step 2. Touch and scroll to the current time and Save. The new time is saved in the system.

Daily filtration ensures your spa is operating as designed and the water is clean and ready to enjoy.

To set the filter cycle times:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Filter Cycles.

Step 2. Touch Filter Cycle 1. The Filter Cycles Screen will display.

Step 3. Touch Start and use the arrows to set the filter cycle starting time. The duration will adjust as you make changes.

Step 4. Touch End and use the arrows to set the filter cycle ending time. The duration will adjust as you change it.

Step 5. Touch Save.

Step 6. Repeat the steps to set additional filter cycles if needed.

Step 7. Touch the Back arrow to return to the Home Screen.

You can find the current water temperature displayed in large numbers on the Home screen. The temperature range is determined by the high and low range available in your system.

To set the desired water temperature:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch the Water Temperature area of the screen. The Desired Temperature screen will display.

Step 2. Touch the plus (+) and minus (-) signs or slide the bar along the bottom of the screen for your desired temperature. As the system changes the temperature, the panel reading displays in color.

Step 3. Touch the unit of measure in the upper right (e.g., °F) to toggle between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C). The system will begin to adjust to the newly set temperature.

Step 4. Touch the Back arrow to return to the Home Screen.

Use the Spa Hold setting for temporary servicing or maintenance. When started, it pauses all spa activities for 1 hour.

To start Spa Hold:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings.

Step 2. Scroll and touch Spa Hold. The Spa Hold Screen will display with an explanation of the feature.

Step 3. Touch Start Hold. The spa will pause, and the screen will display the minutes remaining.

Step 4. You can end the hold before the hour is up by touching End.

Turning on the jets provides water pressure and motion for an enhanced, therapeutic soak.

To turn on the jets:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch the available Jet icon to activate, and touch the arrow to see more features.

Step 2. The Spa Features display will show additional components connected to your system. Touch on each lit jet icon for as many jets you want to activate.

Step 3. Touch the arrow to display the Home Screen.

To change the display brightness:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then touch Panel Settings.

Step 2. Touch Screen Brightness. The Screen Brightness setting will display with a slider bar.

Step 3. Touch the plus (+) and minus (-) signs or slide the bar on the screen to adjust your desired level of brightness.

Step 4. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

Keep your spa heated with these options: Run the spa continuously in Ready (R) state, or in Rest (IR) state for energy efficiency.

To change the heat mode:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Heat Mode.

Step 2. Touch to change the Heat Mode. The options are:

• Ready – Regulates temperature continuously, and is best for frequent, scheduled use.

• Rest – Regulates temperature only during filter cycles.

• Ready-In-Rest – When your spa is in Rest Mode and you touch Jet 1, the system switches to Ready-In-Rest Mode and heats the water to the desired temperature for one hour. Then, the spa returns to Rest Mode. To cancel Ready-In-Rest and return to Rest Mode within the hour, perform step 2 and select the Rest setting.

Step 3. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

Choose a range for your Desired Temperature setting, which becomes the range you use to heat or cool the spa water. For example, choosing High may display a range from 80° F to 104° F. NOTE: Your system’s available ranges will vary.

To change the range between High and Low:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Temperature Range.

Step 2. Touch either High or Low to choose what range displays in the Desired Temperature screen. Your selected range displays as the limits of your Desired Temperature screen.

Step 3. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

Restrict panel access and changes to water temperature by setting the locks.

To change the security setting:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings and scroll to touch Locks. The Locks Screen displays two types of locks you can set:

• Settings Lock – This lock restricts access to controls, including water temperature and scheduled maintenance functions, to maintain spa water quality and safety.

• Panel Lock – This lock restricts preferential and personalized settings that affect the individual spa experience, including what is displayed on the panel and panel access to make changes to settings.

Step 2. Touch the off / on toggle for the lock you wish to activate. The message “Press the lock icon to confirm” will display.

Step 3. Touch the Lock icon. The selected lock will display as locked.

Step 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change the setting again (e.g., to unlock).

You can set a different language for the text in the panel screen display.

To set a different language:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings and scroll to touch Language.

Step 2. The Language Menu displays. Touch your desired language to use in the panel screens. Your selection is indicated in blue, and the new language displays in the panel.

Step 3. Touch the Back arrow until the Home Screen displays in your selected language.

You can find your system settings and fault log record in the Diagnostics menu.

To find your system Information:

Step 1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, and scroll to touch Diagnostics.

Step 2. Touch System Information or Fault Log to see the corresponding displays.

To find your spa information, touch the iMessage icon from the Home Screen. The Spa Information screen will display.
