To start your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS), touch anywhere on the screen. When you power up, you will see a “splash” screen, followed by an at-a-glance temperature and time status screen.

The Home screen is your central connection to all panel features. It displays:

• Current Water Temperature

• Status Messages (e.g., “Your water is heating to 100°F”)

• Access to Features and Functions

• Icons at the bottom for Settings, Spa Information, Dark/Light Display, Invert Display, and Relax Mode.

You can use your fingertip to touch, scroll, slide, or swipe to activate the various icons and images on the panel screen.

The panel of your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) shows all connected equipment. Features and functions include:

• Connected Equipment Icons: Touch icons to control features like jets, Chromazon3 Lighting, BBA3 (Audio), and the Circulation Pump.

• Navigation Arrows: Touch the right arrow to see more features and the left arrow to go back to the previous screen.

• Messages Icon (i): Touch for important messages and information.

• Relax Mode: This screen displays the temperature and time, with an “All Off” button to turn off all features and a “Home” button to return to the main Home Screen.

To prepare your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) for first use, your spa requires essential settings to provide optimal performance. Follow these steps:

1. “Prime The Pump”

2. “Connect your Spa Touch 4/4 +”

3. “Update Software”

4. “Set The Time”

5. “Set Filter Cycles”

6. “Adjust Water Temperature”

7. “Turn On The Jets”

You can find all of these settings by navigating from the Home Screen to the Settings menu.

Priming the pump on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) is performed during initial use to clear the waterflow of trapped air or possible stoppage. To prime the pump:

1. Power up the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) to activate the pump priming mode. The message “Prime your spa” will be displayed.

2. Touch each jet on and then off to see that air bubbles are purged. The jets will start up and clear air bubbles from the pipes.

NOTE: During priming, you can manually override and touch other features that are lit on the panel (lights, misters, blower, etc.). Components and features that are displayed as dimmed cannot be controlled by the panel.

NOTE: At a minimum, you will always see one pump active for continuous water flow and filtration through the system.

Before you begin connecting your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS), have your Wi-Fi network name and password available. To connect:

1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, and then scroll to and touch Wi-Fi.

2. The Wi-Fi Screen will display “Not Connected” with a list of available networks.

3. Touch your Wi-Fi network to connect.

4. A keyboard will appear. Type your network password and touch Save.

5. The screen will display “Attempting to connect…” and upon successful connection, it will display your newly selected network.

Registering your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) establishes your ControlMySpa (CMS) account and gives you access to the CMS App. You will need your 8-digit CMS Code from your spa dealer.

On your Spa Panel:

1. From the Settings Menu, touch ControlMySpa.

2. Touch the Edit icon. A keyboard will display.

3. Enter the CMS Code supplied by your spa dealer, and then touch Save. The ControlMySpa screen will display a QR code.

4. Leave this QR code screen open on your panel to complete the setup on your phone.

On your Mobile Phone:

5. Go to your App store and download “ControlMySpa.”

6. Follow the in-app prompts to set up an account, and then select Setup Spa. Be sure to set up your spa account “by QR code.”

7. Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on the BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) panel and complete the Spa Account Setup.

8. When you see “Account Setup Successful” on your phone, check your email to authenticate your account and complete this final step.

It is important to keep your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) system current with the latest software. To check for updates:

1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, then Software Update.

2. The Software Update Screen will display. Touch Update.

3. The status will show “Getting Updates,” “Downloading,” and “Installing.” When the update is complete, the status will show “Current.”

Setting the correct time on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) is important for automating functions like filter cycles. An iMessage icon (ⓘ) will display when the time needs to be set. To set the time:

1. From the Home screen, touch Settings, then Time.

2. The Time Screen will appear. Touch and scroll to the current time.

3. Touch Save. The new time is saved in the system.

To set the filter cycle times on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) for clean and ready water:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Filter Cycles.

2. The Filter Cycles Screen displays the number of cycles you can schedule. Touch Filter Cycle 1.

3. Touch Start and then touch the arrows to set the filter cycle starting time.

4. Touch End and then touch the arrows to set the filter cycle ending time. The desired filter cycle duration adjusts automatically as you make changes.

5. Touch Save.

6. Repeat these steps to set additional filter cycles if needed.

7. Touch the Back arrow (<) to return to the Home Screen.

To set the desired water temperature on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS):

1. From the Home Screen, touch the Water Temperature area of the screen. The current temperature is displayed in large numbers.

2. The Desired Temperature screen will display. Touch the plus (+) and minus (-) signs or slide the bar along the bottom of the screen to select your desired temperature. As the system changes the temperature, the panel reading displays in color.

3. To change the unit of measure, touch the upper right of the screen to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).

4. Touch the Back arrow (<) to return to the Home Screen. The system will begin to adjust to the newly set temperature.

The Spa Hold feature on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) is used for temporary servicing or maintenance. When started, it pauses all spa activities for 1 hour. To start Spa Hold:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings.

2. Scroll and touch Spa Hold.

3. On the Spa Hold screen, touch Start Hold.

4. The spa will pause and the screen will display the minutes remaining. You can end the hold at any time by touching Exit.

To turn on the jets on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS):

1. From the Home Screen, touch the available Jet icon to activate it. Touch the right arrow (>) to see more features.

2. The Spa Features screen displays with additional components connected to your system.

3. Touch on each lit jet icon for as many jets you want to activate.

4. Touch the left arrow (<) to display the Home Screen.

To change the display brightness of your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) panel:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then touch Panel Settings.

2. Touch Screen Brightness.

3. The Screen Brightness setting displays with a slider bar. Touch the plus (+) and minus (-) signs or slide the bar to adjust to your desired level of brightness.

4. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

You can change the heat mode on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) to run continuously (Ready) or for energy efficiency (Rest). To change the heat mode:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Heat Mode.

2. The Heat Mode screen displays. Touch to choose an option:

• Ready: Regulates temperature continuously. This is recommended for frequent, scheduled use.

• Rest: Regulates temperature only during filter cycles.

• Ready-In-Rest: When your spa is in Rest Mode and you touch Jet 1, the system switches to Ready-In-Rest Mode. It heats the water to the desired temperature for one hour, then returns to Rest Mode. To cancel this and return to Rest Mode within the hour, perform step 2 again and select the Rest setting.

3. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

Choosing a temperature range on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) sets the limits for your desired temperature setting. To change the range between High and Low:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, then Temperature Range.

2. The Temperature Range Screen displays. Touch either High or Low to choose what range displays in the Desired Temperature screen.

Your selected range displays as the limits of your Desired Temperature screen. For example, choosing High may display a range from 80°F to 104°F. Your system’s available ranges will vary.

3. Touch the Home icon to return to the Home Screen.

You can restrict panel access and changes on your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) by setting locks. To change the security setting:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings and scroll to touch Locks.

2. The Locks Screen displays two types of locks you can set:

• Settings Lock: This lock restricts access to controls, including water temperature and scheduled maintenance functions, in order to maintain spa water quality and safety.

• Panel Lock: This lock restricts preferential and personalized settings that affect the individual spa experience, including what is displayed on the panel and panel access to make changes to settings.

3. Touch the off / on toggle for the desired lock. The message, “Press the lock icon to confirm” will display.

4. Touch the Lock icon. The selected lock now displays as locked or unlocked.

5. To change the setting again, repeat steps 3 and 4.

You can set a different language for the text in the panel screen display of your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS). To set a different language:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings and scroll to touch Language.

2. The Language Menu displays. Touch your desired language to use in the panel screens. Your selection is indicated in blue and the new language displays in the panel.

3. Touch the Back arrow (<) until the Home Screen displays in your selected language.

To find system settings and fault log records for your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS):

To find your system information:

1. From the Home Screen, touch Settings, and scroll to touch Diagnostics.

2. The Diagnostics Menu displays access to two status pages. Touch System Information or Fault Log to see corresponding displays.

To find your spa information:

1. From the Home Screen, touch the iMessage icon (ⓘ). The Spa Information screen will display.

Your BALBOA SPA TOUCH 4+ (4PLUS) displays helpful communication messages to alert you of conditions and status, as well as safe troubleshooting steps to maintain your spa. Messages display on the Home Screen and throughout your system to keep you aware of important updates. Examples include:

• Sample Status Message: “Your water is heating to 100°F”

• Sample Instruction Message: “Prime your spa. Turn each jet on and then off to see that air bubbles are purged.”
