Please adhere to the following safety information when using your ASUS D700SA:

• DO NOT expose to or use near liquids, rain, or moisture. DO NOT use the modem during electrical storms.

• Battery safety warning: DO NOT throw the battery in fire. DO NOT short circuit the contacts. DO NOT disassemble the battery.

• Use this product in environments with ambient temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C (104°F).

• DO NOT cover the vents on the Desktop PC to prevent the system from getting overheated.

• DO NOT use damaged power cords, accessories, or other peripherals.

• To prevent electrical shock hazard, disconnect the power cable from the electrical outlet before relocating the system.

• Seek professional assistance before using an adapter or extension cord. These devices could interrupt the grounding circuit.

• Ensure that your power supply is set to the correct voltage in your area. If you are not sure about the voltage of the electrical outlet you are using, contact your local power company.

• If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.

To connect an external monitor to the onboard display output ports of your ASUS D700SA:

1. Connect a monitor to a display output port on the rear panel of your computer.

2. Plug the monitor into a power source.

NOTE: If your computer comes with a discrete graphics card, it is set as the primary display device in the BIOS. Connect your monitor to a display output port on the graphics card.

Connect a USB keyboard and a USB mouse to the USB ports on the rear panel of your ASUS D700SA.

Connect one end of the power cord to the power connector on the rear panel of your ASUS D700SA and the other end to a power source. For safety purposes, ONLY connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet.

To turn on your ASUS D700SA:

1. Turn your monitor ON.

2. Press the power button on your computer.

3. Wait until the operating system loads automatically.

To connect a USB storage device to your ASUS D700SA, insert the USB storage device into any of the USB 3.2 Gen 1 or USB 2.0 ports on the front or rear panels. You can enable or disable these ports individually from the BIOS Setup.

To change to an external audio output on your ASUS D700SA:

1. Connect an external audio device such as an earphone or speaker to the rear Line Out port. The Audio Manager screen will automatically pop up.

2. Tick Front Speaker Out, then click OK.

3. The audio output will now be from the external audio device.

To set up multiple displays with your ASUS D700SA:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Connect the two monitors to your computer and connect the power cords to the monitors.

3. Turn on your computer.

4. From the Start menu, click Settings > System > Display.

5. Configure the settings for your displays.

NOTE: For some graphics cards, only the monitor set as the primary display will show an image during POST. The dual display function works only under Windows.

Connect a High Definition TV (HDTV) to the HDMI™ port of your ASUS D700SA using an HDMI™ cable (purchased separately). To get the best display performance, ensure that your HDMI™ cable is less than 15 meters.

The function of the audio ports changes depending on the channel configuration. Refer to the table below:

To maintain proper posture and prevent strain while using your ASUS D700SA:

• Position your chair so your elbows are at or slightly above the keyboard.

• Adjust your chair height so your knees are slightly higher than your hips. Use a footrest if needed.

• Adjust the chair back to firmly support the base of your spine at a slightly backward angle.

• Sit upright with your knees, elbows, and hips at an approximate 90° angle.

• Place the monitor directly in front of you, with the top of the screen even with your eye level so your eyes look slightly downward.

• Keep the mouse close to the keyboard and use a wrist rest if necessary.

• Use your PC in a comfortably-lit area, away from sources of glare.

• Take regular mini-breaks.

To use the memory card reader:

1. Insert the memory card into the appropriate card slot. A memory card is keyed to fit in only one direction; do not force it.

2. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access your files. If AutoPlay is not enabled, open File Explorer, and double-click the memory card icon.

3. When finished, right-click the memory card drive icon on the Computer screen, click Eject, and then remove the card.

CAUTION: To prevent data loss, do not remove cards while data is being read, copied, formatted, or deleted. Use the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” option in the Windows notification area before removing the card.

To insert an optical disc:

1. While the system is on, press the eject button on the drive bay cover to open the tray.

2. Place the disc on the optical drive. The label side should be outward if the desktop is vertical, and the label side up if the desktop is horizontal.

3. Gently push the tray to close it.

4. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access your files. If AutoPlay is disabled, open File Explorer and double-click the CD/DVD drive icon.

To remove an optical disc:

1. While the system is on, do one of the following to eject the tray:

• Press the eject button on the drive bay cover.

• From the Start menu, click File Explorer, right-click the CD/DVD drive icon, and click Eject.

2. Remove the disc from the disc tray.

To configure the USB ports from the BIOS:

1. Press <Delete> during startup to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press <F7> to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Navigate to Advanced > Security > I/O Interface Security > USB Interface Security > USB Port Control.

4. Select the USB port you want to configure and press <Enter> to enable or disable it.

5. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset to save the changes.

To set a new password for your HDD:

1. Press <Delete> during startup to enter BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press <F7> to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Go to Security > HDD Security Configuration: [name of HDD] to open the HDD Password screen.

4. Select Set Master Password and press <Enter>.

5. In the Create New Password box, key in a password and press <Enter>. Confirm the password when prompted.

6. Select Set User Password and press <Enter>. Follow the prompts to set the user password.

7. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset.

To change an existing HDD password:

1. Follow steps 1-3 from above to open the HDD Password screen.

2. Select Set Master Password and press <Enter>.

3. In the Enter Current Password box, key in the current password, then press <Enter>.

4. In the Create New Password box, key in a new password, then press <Enter>. Confirm the new password when prompted.

5. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset.

To connect via a DSL/cable modem:

1. Set up your DSL/cable modem according to its documentation.

2. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN (RJ-45) port on the rear panel of your ASUS D700SA and the other end to the modem.

3. Turn on the DSL/cable modem and your computer.

4. Configure the necessary Internet connection settings.

To connect via a Local Area Network (LAN):

1. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN (RJ-45) port on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to your LAN.

2. Turn on your computer.

3. Configure the necessary Internet connection settings.

1. Launch Network and Sharing Center. You can do this by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting it, or via the Start menu: Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet > Network and Sharing Center.

2. Click Change adapter settings.

3. Right-click on your LAN and select Properties.

4. Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

5. Click Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, then click OK.

6. If using PPPoE, return to the Network and Sharing Center and click Set up a new connection or network.

7. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.

8. Select Broadband (PPPoE) and click Next.

9. Follow the next onscreen instructions to complete the setup.

1. Follow steps 1 to 4 for configuring a dynamic IP connection to get to the TCP/IPv4 Properties window.

2. Click Use the following IP address.

3. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Gateway from your service provider.

4. If needed, select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter the preferred and alternate DNS Server addresses.

5. When done, click OK.

1. Insert your ASUS support DVD into your optical drive.

2. On the support CD window, click Utilities > ASUS Business Manager.

3. On the ASUS Manager setup screen, select the applications you want to install.

4. Click Install.

5. The system will prompt you to reboot your system once the installation is complete.

ASUS Secure Delete makes deleted files completely irrecoverable.

1. Once ASUS Secure Delete is launched, add files to the deletion box by either:

• Dragging and dropping the files into the box.

• Right-clicking the file(s) and selecting ASUS Secure Delete.

2. To remove a file from the list, select the file and click the remove icon.

3. (Optional) Tick Delete the files listed in the recycle bin to permanently delete all files in the recycle bin as well.

4. Click Clear, and then click OK on the confirmation message to permanently delete the files.

The USB Lock feature in ASUS Business Manager secures your USB ports, card reader, and optical drive with a password.

1. Launch ASUS Business Manager and navigate to the Security section.

2. Select USB Lock.

3. Set a password if you haven’t already.

4. Choose the function you want to lock:

• USB / Card reader Writing locked only

• USB / Card reader Reading and Writing locked

• DVD Reading and Writing locked

5. Click Apply to save the settings.

1. In ASUS Business Manager, go to Tool > MyLogo.

2. Select one of the options, then click Next:

• Change the BIOS boot logo and update the BIOS.

• Change the BIOS boot logo only.

Note: Before selecting the first option, download the latest BIOS file for your ASUS D700SA.

3. Click Browse to locate the picture file you want to use as the boot logo (and the downloaded BIOS file, if required), then click Run.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

If your computer cannot be powered on and the power LED is off:

• Check if your computer is properly connected.

• Check if the wall outlet is functioning.

• Check if the Power Supply Unit is switched on.

If your computer hangs, do the following to close programs that are not responding:

1. Simultaneously press <Alt> + <Ctrl> + <Delete> keys on the keyboard, then click Task Manager.

2. Select the program that is not responding, then click End Task.

If the keyboard is not responding, press and hold the Power button on your chassis until the computer shuts down. Then press the Power button to turn it on.

If there is no display on your monitor:

• Check if the monitor is powered on.

• Ensure that your monitor is properly connected to the correct video output port on your computer (onboard or discrete graphics card port).

• Check if any of the pins on the monitor video connector are bent. If so, replace the monitor video connector cable.

• Check if your monitor is plugged into a power source properly.

• Refer to the documentation that came with your monitor for more troubleshooting information.

If only one monitor has a display:

• Ensure that both monitors are powered on.

• During POST, only the monitor connected to the VGA port has a display. The dual display function works only under Windows.

• If a discrete graphics card is installed, ensure that you connect the monitors to the output ports on the graphics card.

• Check if the multiple displays settings are correct in Windows.

• The first time you connect your USB storage device, Windows automatically installs a driver for it. Wait for a moment and then check My Computer to see if the device is detected.

• Connect your USB storage device to another computer to test if the USB storage device is broken or malfunctioning.

You can use the Windows 10 “Refresh your PC without affecting your files” recovery option. To use this option, click Settings > Update & security > Recovery from the Start menu, select Refresh your PC without affecting your files, and click Get started.

• Ensure that you connect your speakers to the Line out port (lime) on the front or rear panel.

• Check if your speaker is connected to an electrical source and turned on.

• Adjust your speakers’ volume.

• Ensure that your computer’s system sounds are not Muted. If the volume icon shows muted, click it to enable the sounds.

• Connect your speakers to another computer to test if they are working properly.

• Check if the disc is placed with the label side facing up.

• Check if the disc is centered in the tray, especially for discs with a non-standard size or shape.

• Check if the disc is scratched or damaged.

To start your ASUS D700SA for the first time:

1. Press the power button on your Desktop PC. Wait for a few minutes until the setup screen appears.

2. From the setup screen, pick your region and language.

3. Carefully read the License Terms, then tap I Accept.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure the following basic items:

• Personalize

• Get online

• Settings

• Your account

5. Wait until Windows® 10 finishes installing the apps and system settings. The Windows® 10 desktop will then appear.

1. From the Start menu, click All apps, then select the app that you want to pin.

2. Right-click the app and select Pin to Start or Pin to taskbar. You can also drag and drop an app to the Start Screen or taskbar to pin it.

The Snap feature allows you to display multiple apps in one screen.

Using your mouse:

a) Launch an app, then drag and release it on a screen corner to snap it in place.

b) Snap another app to your preferred location on the screen.

Using your keyboard:

a) Launch an app, press the Windows key and the arrow keys to select the direction where you want to snap the app in place.

b) Snap another app using the Windows key and the arrow keys.

IMPORTANT: Back up all your data before using this option. This process may take a while to complete.

1. From the Start menu, click Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

2. Scroll down to the Remove everything and reinstall Windows option. Under this option, click Get started.

3. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the reinstallation and reset process.
