Follow these steps to install the CPU:

1. Lift the socket retention lever to open the socket.

2. Align the triangle marker on the CPU with the corresponding triangle marker on the socket corner. Carefully place the CPU into the socket.

3. Lower the retention lever back down.

4. Lock the retention lever under the retention tab to secure the CPU.

There are two common types of CPU fan installations for the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II motherboard.

For Type 1 (Clip-on style cooler):

1. Place the CPU fan assembly onto the CPU.

2. Attach the retention clips on each side of the fan to the hooks on the motherboard’s mounting bracket.

3. Push the locking lever down to tighten the cooler and secure it in place.

4. Connect the CPU fan’s power cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

For Type 2 (Screw-on style cooler):

1. First, remove the pre-installed screws and the plastic retention modules from the motherboard. Do not remove the backplate on the bottom of the motherboard.

2. Place the CPU fan assembly onto the CPU, aligning its screws with the screw holes in the motherboard’s backplate.

3. Tighten the screws to secure the fan assembly to the motherboard.

4. Connect the CPU fan’s power cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

To install memory modules (RAM) on the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II motherboard:

1. Open the retention clips at the ends of the memory slots.

2. Align the notch on the bottom edge of the memory module with the key inside the slot.

3. Insert the module firmly into the slot until the retention clips automatically snap shut, locking the module in place.

For optimal performance with two modules, it is recommended to install them in slots DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2.

Follow these steps to install an M.2 storage device:

1. Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.

2. Insert the M.2 storage device into the slot at an angle.

3. Press the other end of the M.2 device down so it is parallel with the motherboard.

4. Secure the M.2 device in place using the M.2 screw.

To install an expansion card:

1. Locate the appropriate PCI Express (PCIe) slot for your card.

2. Align the card’s connector with the PCIe slot.

3. Firmly press the card straight down into the slot until it is fully seated and the retention clip on the slot clicks into place.

4. Secure the card’s metal bracket to the computer case with a screw if required.

Locate the system panel header on the motherboard. Connect the cables from your computer case for the power button, reset button, hard drive activity light (HDD LED), and power light to the corresponding pins on this header. Refer to the motherboard manual for the specific pin layout.

To power your motherboard, connect the following cables from your power supply unit (PSU):

1. Connect the large 24-pin main ATX power connector to the corresponding socket on the motherboard until it clicks into place.

2. Connect the 8-pin EATX12V CPU power connector to its socket, typically located near the CPU.

Connect your external devices to the ports on the rear I/O panel of the motherboard. This includes:

• USB devices such as your keyboard and mouse.

• Your monitor, using the HDMI or other available display ports.

• Audio devices like speakers, headphones, or a microphone into the audio jacks.

• An Ethernet cable for a wired network connection.

After all hardware components are installed and connected correctly:
