To set up multiple monitors:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Connect two monitors to the display output ports on your computer and connect the power cords to the monitors.

• Use your Desktop PC in a well-lit area, away from sources of glare.

• Take regular mini-breaks from using your computer.

To use the memory card reader:

1. Insert the memory card into the correct card slot. A memory card is keyed to fit in only one direction; do not force it.

2. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access your files. If AutoPlay is not enabled, open File Explorer, and double-click the memory card icon to access its data.

3. When finished, right-click the memory card drive icon in File Explorer, click Eject, and then remove the card.

To insert an optical disc:

1. While the system is on, press the eject button on the drive bay cover to open the tray.

2. Place the disc on the optical drive with the label side facing outward (if the desktop is vertical) or the label side up (if the desktop is horizontal).

3. Gently push the tray to close it.

4. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access your files.

To remove an optical disc:

3. Navigate to Advanced > Security > I/O Interface Security > USB Interface Security > USB Port Control.

4. Select the USB port you want to configure and press <Enter> to enable or disable it.

5. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset to save the changes and restart.

To set a password for your HDD:

1. Press <Delete> during startup to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press <F7> to enter the Advanced Mode.

3. Go to Security > HDD Security Configuration: [name of HDD] to open the HDD Password screen.

4. Select Set Master Password and press <Enter>.

5. In the Create New Password box, type a password, then press <Enter>. Confirm the password when prompted.

6. Select Set User Password and press <Enter>. Follow steps 4 and 5 to set the user password.

7. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset to save the changes.

Note: You must take note of this password to access the HDD.

You can use an RJ-45 cable for a wired connection.

Connecting via a DSL/Cable Modem:

1. Set up your DSL/cable modem.

2. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN port on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to your DSL/cable modem.

3. Turn on the modem and your computer.

4. Configure the necessary Internet connection settings.

Connecting via a Local Area Network (LAN):

1. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN port on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to your LAN (e.g., a wall jack or router).

2. Turn on your computer.

1. Launch Network and Sharing Center. You can do this by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar or by navigating through Start menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet.

2. In the Network and Sharing Center, click Change Adapter settings.

If your computer won’t power on, try the following steps:

• Check if your computer is properly connected. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the computer and a wall outlet.

• Check if the wall outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.

• Ensure your computer’s power cord is properly connected. Try using another compatible power cord if available.

• Make sure the computer is turned on by pressing the power key on the front panel.

If your computer hangs:

• Try to close the program that is not responding. Simultaneously press <Alt> + <Ctrl> + <Delete> on the keyboard, then click Task Manager. Select the non-responsive program and click End Task.

• If the keyboard is not responding, press and hold the Power button on your chassis until the computer shuts down. Then, press the Power button again to turn it on.

• If the system frequently hangs or freezes, it could be due to too many programs running, a computer virus, hard disk drive failure, memory module problems, insufficient air ventilation, or incompatible software. Try closing some programs, running an anti-virus scan, or checking your hardware.

If there is no display on your monitor, check the following:

• Check if the monitor is powered on.

• Ensure that your monitor is properly connected to the correct video output port on your computer.

• If your computer has a discrete graphics card, ensure that you connect your monitor to a video output port on the discrete graphics card, not the onboard port.

• Check if your monitor is plugged into a power source properly.

• Check the signal cable for any bent pins. If you find bent pins, replace the monitor video connector cable.

• Try connecting to another monitor to see if the issue is with the computer or the original monitor.

If only one of your multiple monitors is displaying an image:

• Ensure that both monitors are powered on.

• During the initial boot process (POST), only the monitor connected to the primary port (often VGA) may have a display. The dual display function works only once Windows has loaded.

• If a discrete graphics card is installed, ensure that you connect both monitors to the output ports on the graphics card.

• Check that the multiple display settings are configured correctly in Windows.

If your USB storage device is not detected:

• The first time you connect a USB device, Windows automatically installs a driver for it. Wait a moment and then check ‘My Computer’ or ‘File Explorer’ to see if the device is detected.

• Connect your USB storage device to another computer to test if the device itself is broken or malfunctioning.

You can use the Windows 10 “Refresh your PC without affecting your files” recovery option. To use this, click Settings > Update & security > Recovery from the Start menu. Under “Refresh your PC without affecting your files,” click Get started and follow the instructions. This will restore or undo changes to your computer’s system settings without affecting personal data like documents or photos.

If your speakers produce no sound:

• Ensure that you connect your speakers to the correct port, which is the Line out port (lime) on the front or rear panel.

• Check if your speaker is connected to an electrical source and turned on.

• Adjust your speakers’ volume control.

• Ensure that your computer’s system sounds are not Muted. If the volume icon in the Windows notification area shows a muted symbol, click it to enable the sounds.

• If it is not muted, click the volume icon and drag the slider to adjust the volume.

• Connect your speakers to another computer to test if the speakers are working properly.

• Try using another speaker or headphones with your computer.

• If both front and back audio ports do not work, try reinstalling the audio driver.

If the DVD drive fails to read a disc:

• Check if the disc is placed with the label side facing up.

• Check if the disc is centered in the tray, especially for discs with a non-standard size or shape.

• Check if the disc is scratched or damaged.

If your system speed is too slow, consider these possible causes and actions:

• Too many programs are running: Close some of the programs you are not using.

• Computer virus attack: Use an anti-virus software to scan for and repair your computer. You may also need to reinstall the operating system.

• Hard disk drive failure: If you suspect the hard drive is failing, contact service for assistance or replace it with a new hard disk drive.

• If it’s too noisy right after turning on: This is normal. The fan runs at its full speed when the computer is powering on and will slow down after the OS has started.

• If it’s too noisy during use:

– There may not be enough air ventilation for the computer. Ensure your computer is in an area with good air flow.

– The system temperature may be too high. Try updating the BIOS, and if you are comfortable doing so, clean the inner space of the chassis.

– The CPU fan may have been replaced with a non-compatible one. Ensure you are using a compatible or ASUS-recommended CPU fan.

When you start your computer for the first time, a series of screens will guide you through configuring Windows 10.

1. Press the power button on your Desktop PC. Wait a few minutes for the setup screen to appear.

2. From the setup screen, pick your region and language.

3. Carefully read the License Terms, then tap I Accept.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure basic items such as Personalize, Get online, Settings, and Your account.

5. Wait until Windows 10 finishes installing the apps and system settings. After installation, the Windows 10 desktop will appear.

To pin an app to the Start screen or taskbar:

1. From the Start menu, click All apps, then find the app you want to pin.

2. Right-click the app and select Pin to Start or Pin to taskbar. You can also drag and drop an app to the Start Screen or taskbar to pin it.

The Snap feature helps you arrange multiple apps on one screen.

Using your mouse:

a) Launch an app, then drag its title bar and release it on a screen corner to snap it in place.

b) Snap another app to your preferred location on the screen.

Using your keyboard:

a) Launch an app, then press the Windows key + an arrow key to select the direction where you want to snap the app.

b) Snap another app using the Windows key + arrow keys.

You can restore your PC to its original factory settings by removing everything and reinstalling Windows. Be aware that this process will delete all your personal data, so you should back up your files first.

1. From the Start menu, click Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

2. Scroll down to the Remove everything and reinstall Windows option.

3. Under this option, click Get started.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the reinstallation and reset process.
