To connect the base unit of your VTECH ERISSTATION VCS754, follow these steps:

1. Plug one end of the DC power cable (with yellow plugs) into the power jack of the base unit, and plug the other end into the VCS754 jack of the power adapter. Route the cord through the slots on the bottom of the base unit.

2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN jack of the power adapter, and plug the other end into a network switch or router.

3. Plug the small end of the AC power cord into the power jack of the adapter, and plug the large end into a wall outlet not controlled by a switch.

4. Optional: Plug the mini-USB end of the USB cable into the base unit. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a PC to use the PC speakerphone mode.

When the base unit is powered up, the status indicators turn green for about two seconds.

Follow these steps to install the battery in the wireless microphone:

1. Place the battery with the label “THIS SIDE UP” facing up into the battery compartment.

2. Slide the battery door until it clicks into place.

3. Place the wireless mic onto the charging cradle until it is flush. The status indicator on the wireless mic turns orange when charging and turns off when the wireless mic is fully charged.

Lift all the wireless mics from the charging cradles and place them on the table. Then, press the TALK/OFF key. If you hear a dial tone and the status indicators on both the base unit and the wireless mics turn green, the installation is successful.

Active Call Screen Icons

1. Press MENU to show the main menu.

2. Press the up or down navigation keys to highlight menu items.

3. Press SELECT or a corresponding dial pad key to select a highlighted menu item. For example, when Features is highlighted, you can press SELECT or press 1 on the dial pad to view the Features submenu.

4. Press SELECT or an appropriate soft key to save changes.

5. Press CANCEL to cancel an operation, exit the menu display, or return to the idle screen.

You can make a call in two ways:

Standard Dialing:

1. Press the TALK/OFF key. You will hear a dial tone.

2. Use the dial pad keys to enter the desired phone number.

3. Press the “Dial” softkey. The phone will dial the number.

Pre-dialing:

1. While the phone is in idle mode, use the dial pad keys to enter the desired phone number.

2. Press the TALK/OFF key or the “Dial” softkey to call the number.

While entering a number, you can press the “Backspc” softkey to correct digits or press the “123” softkey to switch to entering letters for domain names.

1. During a call, lift a wireless mic from the base unit charging cradle and place it on the table. The status indicator on the wireless mic will turn green.

2. Speak towards the microphone on the wireless mic. For best performance, speak to the microphone from a distance of no more than 3 feet.

Always return the wireless mics to the charging cradles after use.

To answer a call:

On the base unit, press the TALK/OFF key or press the “Answer” softkey.

To end a call:

Press the TALK/OFF key or the “End” softkey.

During a call, press the HOLD button on the base unit. The “On hold” screen will appear, and the status indicators will flash green slowly.

From the “On hold” screen, you have several options:

End: Ends the call.

New: Dials a new call.

Resume: Takes the call off hold.

Transfer: Transfers the held call to another party.

Conf: Starts a conference with the held call.

1. When an incoming call appears, press the “Forward” softkey. The phone stops ringing and the “Forward to” screen appears.

2. Enter the number to which you want to forward the call. You can also press MENU to select a number from the directory or call history.

3. Press the “Forward” softkey again. The call will be forwarded, and your phone will return to idle mode if you have no other active calls.

You can perform a supervised transfer (talk to the recipient first) or a blind transfer.

Supervised Transfer:

1. During a call, press the “Transfer” softkey. The call is automatically put on hold.

2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.

3. When the second party answers, you can talk to them to announce the transfer.

4. Press the “Transf” softkey to complete the transfer.

Blind Transfer:

1. During a call, press the “Transfer” softkey.

2. Press the “Blind” softkey.

3. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.

4. Press the “Transf” softkey. The call is transferred immediately.

1. While on an active call, press the “Conf” softkey. The first call is automatically put on hold.

2. Dial the number of the second party you want to add to the conference.

3. When the second call is established, press the “Conf” softkey again. The conference begins, and all three parties are connected.

When you have a new message, the phone displays a “New Message” alert screen. You can press “View” on this screen to access your messages. To check messages at any time:

1. When the phone is idle, press MENU.

2. With “Features” highlighted, press SELECT.

3. On the Features menu, use the down navigation key to highlight “Message”, and then press SELECT.

4. The Message menu appears, showing available mailboxes (e.g., LINE 1, LINE 2). Highlight the desired line and press SELECT to access messages for that line.

During a call, press MUTE ALL on the base unit or on any active wireless mic. The status indicators will turn red. This mutes all microphones in the system, so the other party cannot hear you, but you can still hear them.

To unmute, press MUTE ALL again on the base unit or a wireless mic. The status indicators will turn green.

This feature helps you find any misplaced wireless mics that are within range of the base unit.

1. Press MENU, then highlight and select STATUS.

2. On the Status menu, highlight and select “Wireless microphone”.

3. On the Wireless microphone menu, press the “Locate” softkey.

The base unit screen will display “Wireless microphones will ring. Press CANCEL/Back to stop.” All wireless mics that are not on their charging cradles will play a location tone for 30 seconds.

To mute the tone, press MUTE ALL on a wireless mic, or place it back onto the charging cradle.

1. Connect the VTECH ERISSTATION VCS754 to your PC using the supplied USB cable. The cable connects to the USB port on the rear of the base unit.

2. After connecting, the device will install drivers and appear as “USB Audio Device” in your PC’s audio settings.

3. Ensure that you have selected the VTECH ERISSTATION VCS754 as the default audio device on your PC for both microphone and speaker.

4. When you are on the phone’s idle screen, press the “PC SPK” soft key. The audio from your softphone or messaging application will be directed to the conference phone. The screen will show “PC Speakerphone mode in use” and the status indicators will turn green.

1. Press MENU, select “Features,” then select “Call.”

2. From the Call menu, select “Do Not Disturb.”

3. On the Do Not Disturb menu, highlight the line for which you want to turn DND on or off.

4. Press the left or right navigation key to toggle the setting between On and Off.

5. Press the “Save” softkey. When Do Not Disturb is on, an icon will appear on the idle screen.

You can store up to 200 contacts. To access the directory:

1. Press MENU, select “Features,” then select “Directory.”

2. Select “Local.”

From here, you can use the softkeys to manage entries:

Add a new entry:

1. Press the “Add” softkey. A blank entry screen appears.

2. Use the dial pad keys to enter the first name, last name, and contact numbers. Press the ABC key to switch between upper-case, lower-case, and numbers.

3. After entering the information, press the “Save” softkey.

Edit an entry:

1. Use the navigation keys to find the desired entry.

2. Press the “Edit” softkey.

3. Use the dial pad keys to change the information.

4. Press the “Save” softkey.

Delete an entry:

1. Find the desired entry.

2. Press the “Delete” softkey.

3. When the confirmation screen appears, press “Yes.”

To add a speed dial entry:

1. When the phone is idle, press MENU.

2. Select “Features,” then select “Speed dial.”

3. Use the navigation keys to highlight an “” entry and press the “Add” softkey.

4. Use the dial pad keys to enter the name and number.

5. Use the navigation keys to select the line you want to use for this speed dial entry.

6. Press the “Save” softkey.

To dial a speed dial number:

Press and hold the dial pad key that matches the speed dial entry number (for entry 10, press and hold 0).

1. Press MENU when the base unit is not in use.

2. Use the down navigation key to highlight “User settings” and press SELECT.

3. Select “Preferences.”

From the Preferences menu, you can select:

Language: Highlight “Language,” press SELECT, highlight the desired language (English, Spanish, French), and press SELECT.

Date & Time: Highlight “Date & Time,” press SELECT. Here you can set the time format (12/24 hour), date format, and time zone. Note that if Network Time Protocol (NTP) server is enabled, you cannot manually set the date and time.

1. Press MENU, then select “User settings.”

2. Highlight “Display,” then press SELECT.

In the Display menu, you can adjust:

Contrast: Highlight “Contrast” and use the left/right navigation keys to set the level from 1 to 7. Press “Save.”

Backlight ON: This sets the backlight level when the phone is active. Select from Off, Low, Medium, or High. Press “Save.”

Backlight idle: This sets the backlight level when the phone is idle. Select from Off, Low, Medium, or High. Press “Save.”

Timeout: This sets how long the backlight stays on after a key press. Select between 10 and 60 seconds. Press “Save.”

1. Press MENU, then select “User settings.”

2. Highlight “Audio,” then press SELECT.

To select different ringer tones for each line:

1. Ensure “Ringer tone” is highlighted and press “Select.”

2. Highlight the line for which you want to select a ringer tone and press “Select.”

3. Use the left/right navigation keys to select one of ten ringer tones. The tones will sample as you select them.

4. Press “Save.”

To adjust the ringer volume, press the VOL up/down keys while the phone is idle.

1. Ensure your computer is connected to the same network as your phone.

2. Find the IP address of your phone:

a. When the phone is idle, press MENU.

b. Highlight “Status” and press SELECT.

c. Ensure “Network” is highlighted and press SELECT.

d. Note the IP Address displayed on the screen (e.g., 192.168.100.100).

3. On your computer, open an Internet browser.

4. Type the phone’s IP address into the browser’s address bar and press ENTER.

5. A Login page will appear. Under “User Name,” enter ‘user’.

6. Under “Password,” enter ‘user’ (the default password), or your own password if you have changed it.

7. Click “Log In.”

It takes up to 8 hours for a wireless mic battery to be fully charged. When fully charged, you can expect the following operating times:

Actual talk time will be shorter for calls using HD audio (G.722). The wireless mic is not charging or in use during standby.

1. When the phone is idle, press MENU.

2. On the Main menu, use the down navigation key to highlight “Status,” and then press SELECT.

3. On the Status screen, highlight “Product Info,” and then press SELECT.

4. On the Product Info screen, press the down navigation key until “Firmware Ver.” appears.

If the VTECH ERISSTATION VCS754 does not power up or show a display name after setup, please try the following:

1. Make sure the DC power cable is securely plugged into the base unit and the power adapter.

2. Make sure the AC power cord is securely plugged into the power adapter and a wall outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.

1. Make sure there is a dial tone before dialing.

2. If other telephones in your office are having the same problem, the issue may be with the wiring or telephone service. Contact your IP PBX system administrator.

3. Try to eliminate any background noise. Dial from another room in your office with less background noise.

If the status indicator on the wireless mic remains off and inactive when you lift it from the cradle, please follow these steps:

1. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

2. Insert the battery again and secure the battery door. Then, return the wireless mic to the charging cradle.

3. Make sure the wireless mic is placed in the charging cradle correctly. The status indicator under the MUTE ALL button should turn orange.

If the indicator does not turn orange:

1. Remove the wireless mic from the charging cradle and install the battery again.

2. Return the mic to the charging cradle. The indicator should turn orange.

3. Allow the mic to charge for at least 30 minutes.

4. Remove the mic from the cradle again and press the TALK/OFF key on the base unit. The status indicator on the mic should turn green within 2 seconds.

If it still does not work, the wireless mic might have lost its connection to the base unit and may need to be re-registered.

This indicates the wireless mic has a low battery.

Place the wireless mic onto the charging cradle for recharging.

For optimal battery life, charge the wireless mics for up to 8 hours before the first time of use and return them to the charging cradle after each use.

If your calls fade out or you experience interference, try the following:

1. Move the wireless mic closer to the base unit, as it may be out of range.

2. Appliances plugged into the same electrical circuit as the base unit can cause interference. Try moving the appliance or the base unit to a different outlet.

3. Other electronic products such as HAM radios and other DECT phones can cause interference. Try installing your conference phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic devices.

4. If your phone is plugged into a modem or surge protector, try plugging it into a different location. If that doesn’t solve the problem, relocate your phone or modem farther apart, or use a different surge protector.

When the base unit is not in use or on a call, press the following key sequence on the dial pad: MENU → 3 → 1 → 1 → 1.

If the telephone is not responding normally, put the wireless mics onto the charging cradles. If it still does not respond, try the following in order:

1. Disconnect the power to the base unit.

2. Remove the battery from the wireless mics.

3. Wait a few minutes before connecting power back to the base unit.

4. Install the batteries again and place the wireless mics onto the charging cradles.

5. Wait for the wireless mics to synchronize with the base unit. Allow up to one minute for this to take place.

Taking care of your phone:

Your conference phone contains sophisticated electronic parts and should be treated with care. Avoid rough treatment and save the original packing materials for shipping if needed. Avoid water and do not use the wireless mics outdoors in the rain or handle with wet hands. Do not install the base unit near a sink, bathtub, or shower.

Cleaning your phone:

The phone has a durable plastic casing. Clean it only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or mild soap. Do not use excess water or cleaning solvents of any kind.
