• In case of thermal failure, switch the hob off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not place any dishes on it or cool it with cold water.

• To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

Every cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF is equipped with pan detection, which recognizes cookware with a magnetisable base suitable for induction hobs.

• If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level display will flash alternately with the symbol ‘u’.

• If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from ‘u’ to ‘0’.

• The appliance will switch off completely after 10 seconds if no other cooking zone is active.

Only cookware with a full magnetic base is suitable for use with the V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF induction hob. You can check for suitability in the following ways:

• A magnet sticks anywhere on the base of the cookware.

• When placed on the hob, the power level you set illuminates and does not alternate with the ‘u’ symbol.

Do not heat any unsuitable cookware using aids such as metal rings, as this can damage the hob.

For maximum energy efficiency and even heat distribution with your V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF, please note the following:

• The base of the cookware must be clean, dry, and smooth.

• Centre the cookware in the middle of the cooking zone.

• Use a well-fitting lid.

• Match the diameter of the cookware to the quantity of food being cooked.

When using coated cookware on your V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF, follow these guidelines to prevent damage to the coating:

• Coated cookware, when empty, should never be heated at a power level higher than 7. The coating may otherwise become overheated and damaged.

• For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9.

• Never use the PowerPlus function with coated frying pans.

To switch the appliance on:

Depress the ON/OFF button (power symbol) for 1 second. ‘0’ will flash in all the power level displays. If no other entry is made, the appliance will switch off again after about 10 seconds for safety reasons.

To switch the appliance off:

Touch the ON/OFF button (power symbol).

1. Press the ‘8’ button for the desired cooking zone.

– ‘0’ will flash in the corresponding power level display.

– The selection point for this cooking zone will be illuminated.

2. Touch the slider or swipe it to set the desired power level.

Note: Settings for a cooking zone can only be changed when its selection point is illuminated. If the light goes out, you must select the cooking zone again by pressing its ‘8’ button.

Keep warm setting (L): This setting keeps ready-cooked foods warm at approximately 65 °C. It is located between power levels ‘0’ and ‘1’ on the slider.

Melting function: This function gently melts items like butter, chocolate, or honey at 40 °C.

• To switch on: Hold power level ‘L’ on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars (=) will appear in the display.

• To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer function: This function cooks food like sausages, dumplings, and stuffed pasta below boiling point, at about 94 °C.

• To switch on: Press the level ‘L’ on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will appear in the display.

• To switch off: Set any other power level using the slider.

The PowerPlus booster provides extra high power for 10 minutes, ideal for heating a large quantity of water quickly.

Switching PowerPlus on:

1. Press the ‘8’ button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the slider past the highest level to ‘P’ (touch twice). ‘P’ will be illuminated in the display.

– After 10 minutes, it automatically reverts to power level 9.

Ending PowerPlus before 10 minutes:

1. Press the ‘8’ button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the required power level on the slider.

Note: If cookware is removed, PowerPlus is interrupted and will continue as soon as the cookware is placed back on the cooking zone.

The cooking zones on the V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF are divided into two groups: Group A (front and back left zones) and Group B (front and back right zones). PowerPlus cannot be used for both cooking zones of a single group at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for a second zone in the same group, the power of the first zone will be automatically reduced.

The maximum available power levels are as follows:

If you try to raise the power level above these specified values, the PowerPlus function on the other zone will switch off.

The Automatic Boost function runs a cooking zone at power level 9 for a set duration before automatically switching back to your pre-selected power level. Do not leave the hob unattended when using this function.

Switching on the automatic boost:

1. Press the ‘8’ button of the required cooking zone.

2. Press and hold the required power level on the slider for 3 seconds.

– As long as the boost is active, ‘A’ and the selected power level will illuminate alternately in the display.

– After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to the selected power level.

Switching off the automatic boost before time:

1. Press the ‘8’ button of the required cooking zone.

2. Set a lower power level using the slider.

The boost duration depends on the selected power level:

The operating time function switches a cooking zone off automatically after a set time (1-99 minutes).

Setting the operating time:

1. Set the required power level for the cooking zone.

2. Press the ‘8’ button of that cooking zone.

3. Press the ’88’ button. ’00’ appears in the display and the second digit flashes.

4. Set the second digit (minutes) using the slider.

5. Press the ’88’ button again. The first digit flashes.

6. Set the first digit (tens of minutes) using the slider.

7. Press the ’88’ button to start the timer.

Changing the operating time:

Follow the same steps as setting the time. The remaining time will be displayed first.

Switching the operating time off before time:

Set both digits of the operating time to ‘0’ using the steps above.

At the end of the operating time:

The cooking zone switches off, an acoustic signal is emitted, and ’00’ flashes in the display. Press any button to switch off the signal and display.

Several operating times:

If times are set for multiple zones, the display shows the shortest remaining time. To view another zone’s time, press its ‘8’ button.

The childproof lock prevents the appliance from being accidentally switched on.

Switching the childproof lock on:

1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure all cooking zones are off.

2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘wipe protection’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Touch the ‘II’ button again. An acoustic signal is emitted. The lock is now on, and a ‘-‘ symbol illuminates in all power level displays for 10 seconds.

Operating the appliance with the childproof lock activated:

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘wipe protection’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

– The childproof lock is now temporarily overridden, and the appliance can be used as normal.

– The lock will automatically reactivate after switching the hob off.

Switching the childproof lock off permanently:

1. Switch on the appliance. No cooking zone must be in operation.

2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘wipe protection’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Press the ‘wipe protection’ button again. A double acoustic signal is emitted. ‘0’ flashes for 10 seconds on all power level displays. The lock is now off.

Restore function:

If the appliance was switched off accidentally with the power button, settings can be restored within 6 seconds.

1. Switch on the appliance. The illuminated point for the ‘II’ button flashes.

2. Press the ‘II’ button to restore the previous settings.

Pause cooking:

This function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to ‘1’ for up to 10 minutes.

1. Press the ‘II’ button to activate. The indicator light illuminates, and all active zones switch to power level ‘1’. The operating time is interrupted, but the timer continues.

2. Press the ‘II’ button again to resume cooking with the previous settings.

If not resumed within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

Wipe protection:

This function deactivates the control panel for 30 seconds to allow for cleaning without accidentally changing settings.

1. Press the ‘wipe protection’ (hand) button. The indicator light for the button illuminates.

2. The function is switched off by pressing the button again or automatically after 30 seconds.

To keep your V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF clean and prevent damage, follow these instructions. Preferably, clean the hob when it is cold to avoid burns.

• Everyday dirt: Use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent. We recommend using protective cleaning agents.

• Encrusted dirt (e.g., boiled-over milk): Remove with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm. Follow the scraper manufacturer’s advice.

• Sugary foods (e.g., marmalade): Remove immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent damage to the glass surface.

• Melted plastic: Remove with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent surface damage.

• Limescale stains: Use a small amount of lime-dissolving solution, like vinegar or lemon juice, when the hob has cooled down. Then clean again with a damp cloth.

Do not use scouring cleaning agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool, as these can damage the surface.

‘u’ flashes alternately with the power level:

Continuous acoustic signal, ‘F’ flashes, and appliance switches off:

Different symbols and codes indicate specific states or errors:

• ‘-‘ illuminates in the displays: The childproof lock is activated. See the instructions for operating the appliance with the lock on or for switching it off.

• ‘H’ and ‘0’ flash alternately: The automatic safety shut-off was triggered because a cooking zone was running for a long time without any setting changes. Switch the cooking zone back on if required.

• ‘H’ flashes: The excess temperature protection of a cooking zone was triggered. Allow the zone to cool down, continue on a different zone, and check if the cookware is suitable.

• ‘U0’ flashes: There was an interruption in the power supply. Press any button to quit the error message. The appliance can be used again as normal.

• ‘E’ and ‘8’ are illuminated: The air intake may be blocked by an object (e.g., paper) underneath the hob, or the ventilation is defective. Remove any objects. If the error persists, note the error number and serial number and call Customer Services.

• ‘Er’ or ‘E’ and a number illuminate: An internal error has occurred. Note down the error number and the appliance’s serial number (FN) from the identification plate and call Customer Services.

If a cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK47TIMXSF has been running for an extended period without any settings being changed, the appliance will automatically switch that cooking zone off for safety. The time before shut-off depends on the power level that was set.
