Please adhere to the following safety precautions when using your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC:

• Read the operating instructions before using the appliance for the first time.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and have understood the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be undertaken by children without supervision.

• If the mains cable of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its Customer Services or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.

For your safety, please observe these specific precautions for your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC:

• WARNING: If the surface is cracked or there is damage to the material thickness, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply in order to avoid a possible electric shock.

• WARNING: During use, the appliance and its exposed parts become hot. Please be careful to avoid the exposed parts of the heating elements.

• Never use a steam cleaner.

• Objects made of metal, e.g. knives, forks, spoons, covers or aluminium foil, should not be put on the hob as they can become hot.

• WARNING: Leaving fat or oil unattended on the hob can be dangerous and can lead to fires. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water. Instead, switch the appliance off and then carefully cover the flames with an object such as a cover or a fire blanket.

• WARNING: Never leave objects on the hob as they pose a fire hazard.

• The appliance must not be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.

To prevent damage to your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC induction hob, follow these guidelines:

• In the case of thermal failure, switch the solid plate off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not put any dishes on it. Do not cool with cold water under any circumstances.

• Do not climb onto the appliance.

• To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

• Do not cut or prepare food on the surface or drop hard objects onto it. Do not drag cookware across the surface.

• Make sure that no sugary foods or juices end up on the hot cooking zones. If they do, remove them immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still hot, as they can damage the surface.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

• Pots with pure copper or aluminium bases should not be used as they can leave traces that are difficult to clean and may permanently burn on.

• Lift pots and cookware when moving them to avoid sliding them across the glass, which can cause scratches.

The identification plate and the connection plate for your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC are located on the underside of the hob. A second identification plate is supplied and should be affixed in the fitted unit underneath the hob for easy access.

The V-ZUG GK37TIMSC features the following controls and displays:

Buttons:

• On/Off button: Turns the device ON/OFF.

• Slider (0 • • • P): Used to set the power level.

• P (PowerPlus): Activates the PowerPlus booster function.

• II (Pause): Activates Pause cooking ON/OFF and the restore function.

• Hand icon (Wipe protection): Turns Wipe protection ON/OFF.

• Cooking zone selector: Selects the desired cooking zone.

• Clock icon (Timer): Sets the operating time or timer.

Displays:

1. Power level of the cooking zone.

2. Selection point: indicates which cooking zone is selected.

3. Operating time activated indicator.

4. Cooking zone indicator light for the operating time.

5. Operating time/timer display.

6. Pause activated/restoration of saved setting possible indicator.

7. Wipe protection activated indicator.

Every cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC is equipped with pan detection. This feature recognizes cookware with a magnetisable base suitable for induction cooking.

• If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level display flashes alternately with a “U” symbol.

• If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from “U” to “0”.

• The entire appliance will switch off after 10 seconds if no other cooking zone is active.

Only use cookware with a full magnetic base on your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC. You can check for suitability in the following ways:

• A magnet sticks anywhere on the base of the cookware.

• When placed on the hob, the power level you set illuminates and does not alternate with the “U” symbol.

Do not heat unsuitable cookware using aids like metal rings, as this can damage the hob.

For Coated Cookware:

• Never heat empty coated cookware at a power level higher than 7, as the coating can become overheated and damaged.

• For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9.

• Never use the PowerPlus function with coated frying pans.

Switching the appliance on:

• Depress the On/Off button for 1 second. A “0” will flash in all power level displays.

Selecting a cooking zone and setting power:

• Press the selector button for the required cooking zone. A “0” will flash in its display and the selection point will illuminate.

• Touch the slider or swipe it to set the desired power level.

Switching a cooking zone off:

• Press the selector button for the required cooking zone.

• Touch the power level “0” on the slider.

Switching the appliance off:

• Touch the On/Off button.

Keep warm setting (L):

This setting keeps ready-cooked food warm at approximately 65 °C. Select the cooking zone and set the power level to “L” on the slider, which is found between “0” and “1”.

Melting function:

This function gently melts items like butter or chocolate at 40 °C.

• To switch on: Hold power level “L” on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars will illuminate in the display.

• To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer function:

This function cooks food like sausages or dumplings below boiling point at about 94 °C.

• To switch on: Press the level “L” on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will illuminate in the display.

• To switch off: Set any other power level using the slider.

PowerPlus is a booster function that operates a cooking zone at extra high power for 10 minutes, ideal for heating large quantities of water quickly. After 10 minutes, it automatically reverts to power level 9.

Switching PowerPlus on:

1. Press the selector button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the slider at the “P” position (touch twice).

3. “P” is illuminated in the display.

Ending PowerPlus before 10 minutes:

1. Press the selector button of the cooking zone.

2. Touch the required power level on the slider.

Power Management:

PowerPlus cannot be used on certain cooking zones at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for both cooking zones in a linked pair, the power of the first zone set will be reduced. For the GK37TIMS model group (which includes the V-ZUG GK37TIMSC), cooking zones 1 and 2 are paired. The following table shows the maximum power available:

Cooking zone 3 can be operated with PowerPlus independently of zones 1 and 2.

The Automatic boost function allows a cooking zone to operate at power level 9 for a set period before automatically switching back to a lower power level that you pre-selected. Do not leave the hob unattended when using this function.

Switching on Automatic boost:

1. Select the required cooking zone.

2. Press and hold the desired final power level on the slider for 3 seconds.

3. The display will alternately show “A” and the selected power level. After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to your selected level.

Switching off Automatic boost before time:

1. Select the cooking zone.

2. Set a lower power level using the slider.

The duration of the boost depends on the final power level selected:

This function automatically switches a cooking zone off after a set time from 1 to 99 minutes.

Setting the operating time:

1. Set the power level for the required cooking zone.

2. Press the selector button for that cooking zone.

3. Press the timer button. “00” appears in the display and the second digit flashes.

4. Set the second digit of the operating time using the slider.

5. Press the timer button again. The first digit flashes.

6. Set the first digit of the operating time using the slider.

7. Press the timer button to start. The timer symbol will illuminate.

At the end of the time, an acoustic signal sounds, and the cooking zone switches off.

The childproof lock prevents the appliance from being accidentally switched on.

Switching the childproof lock on:

1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure all cooking zones are off.

2. Touch the Pause (II) and Wipe protection (hand icon) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Touch the Pause (II) button again. Another signal is emitted. The lock symbol illuminates in all displays for 10 seconds.

Operating the appliance with the lock activated (temporary override):

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Touch the Pause (II) and Wipe protection (hand icon) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted, and the lock is overridden. You can now use the hob as normal. The lock will automatically reactivate after the hob is switched off.

Switching the childproof lock off permanently:

1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure no cooking zones are in operation.

2. Touch the Pause (II) and Wipe protection (hand icon) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Press the Wipe protection (hand icon) button again. A double acoustic signal is emitted. A “0” flashes in all power level displays for 10 seconds. The childproof lock is now off.

Restore function:

If the appliance was accidentally switched off, your settings can be restored within 6 seconds.

• Switch the appliance back on. The illuminated point for the Pause (II) button will flash.

• Press the Pause (II) button to restore your previous settings.

Pause cooking:

This function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to level 1 for up to 10 minutes.

• Press the Pause (II) button to activate. The indicator light illuminates, and power levels change to 1. The operating time is interrupted, but the egg timer continues to run.

• Press the Pause (II) button again to resume cooking with the previous settings.

If not resumed within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

Wipe protection:

This function locks the control panel for 30 seconds to prevent settings from being changed accidentally while wiping it clean.

• Press the Wipe protection (hand icon) button to activate. The indicator light illuminates.

• Wipe protection switches off automatically after 30 seconds or can be switched off manually by pressing the button again.

Clean the hob after every use to prevent food residues from burning on. Preferably, clean the appliance only when it is cold to avoid burns.

• Do not use scouring cleaning agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool, as they can damage the surface.

• For everyday dirt, use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent. Using a protective cleaning agent is recommended.

• Remove encrusted dirt (e.g., from boiled-over milk) with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• Remove sugary foods (e.g., marmalade) immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent surface damage.

• Remove melted plastic with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• Remove limescale stains with a small amount of lime-dissolving solution (e.g., vinegar or lemon juice) when the hob has cooled down. Then clean again with a damp cloth.

If there is no power to your V-ZUG GK37TIMSC, check the following:

• Possible Cause: The fuse or circuit breaker for your home’s electrical installation is defective.

Solution: Change the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

• Possible Cause: The fuse or circuit breaker keeps blowing.

Solution: Call Customer Services.

• Possible Cause: An interruption in the power supply.

Solution: Check the power supply to your home.

This indicates a problem with the cookware.

• Possible Cause: Cookware is not suitable for use with induction hobs.

Solution: Use suitable magnetic cookware.

• Possible Cause: Cookware is too small for the cooking zone selected.

Solution: Ensure the cookware corresponds to the size of the cooking zone.

This means the childproof lock is activated.

• To operate the appliance temporarily with the lock activated, please see the instructions for overriding the lock.

• To use the hob normally, switch the childproof lock off.

This is usually caused by an object or spill on the control panel.

• Possible Causes:

– A button or slider was touched for longer than 10 seconds.

– An object (e.g., pan, dish) is on the control panel.

– Food has boiled over onto the control panel.

• Solution: Remove the object or clean the food that has boiled over. The appliance can then be used again as normal.

This indicates that the automatic safety shut-off was triggered. If a cooking zone has been running for a long time without any settings being changed, the appliance switches it off automatically for safety. The shut-off time depends on the power level set.

Solution: Switch the cooking zone back on again if required.

The safety shut-off times are as follows:

A flashing “H” indicates that the excess temperature protection of a cooking zone has been triggered.

• Solution: Allow the cooking zone to cool down. You can continue cooking on a different cooking zone. Also, check that your cookware is suitable and clean.

This indicates a ventilation issue.

• Possible Cause: An object (e.g., paper) underneath the hob is affecting the air intake.

Solution: Remove any objects in the drawer underneath the hob. Press any button to cancel the error message. After 10 minutes, the appliance can be used again as normal.

• Possible Cause: Ventilation is defective.

Solution: Note down the error number and the serial number (FN) from the identification plate and call Customer Services.

This indicates an internal error has occurred.

Solution:

1. Note down the error number.

2. Note down the serial number (FN) of the appliance from the identification plate.

3. Call Customer Services with this information.
