• WARNING: If the glass ceramic surface is cracked or damaged, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply to avoid a possible electric shock.

• WARNING: During use, the appliance and its exposed parts become hot. Be careful to avoid touching the heating elements.

• Never use a steam cleaner on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU.

• Objects made of metal, such as knives, forks, spoons, covers, or aluminium foil, should not be placed on the hob as they can become hot.

• WARNING: Leaving fat or oil unattended on the hob can be dangerous and may lead to fires. Never try to extinguish a fire with water. Instead, switch the appliance off and carefully cover the flames with an object like a cover or a fire blanket.

• WARNING: Never leave objects on the hob as they pose a fire hazard.

• The appliance must not be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.

• Overheated fat and oil can catch fire easily. Do not attempt to extinguish burning oil or fat with water due to the danger of explosion. Smother the flames with a fire blanket and keep doors and windows closed.

• Keep pets away from the device.

To prevent damage to your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU hob, follow these guidelines:

• In case of thermal failure, switch the solid plate off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not place any dishes on it or cool it with cold water under any circumstances.

• Do not climb onto the appliance.

• To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

• Do not cut or prepare food on the surface, or drop hard objects onto it. Avoid dragging cookware across the surface.

• Ensure no sugary foods or juices end up on the hot cooking zones. If they do, remove them immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still hot to prevent surface damage.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

• Pots with pure copper or aluminium bases should not be used, as they can leave traces that are difficult to clean and may become permanently burned on, ruining the visual appearance of the appliance.

• Sliding pots and cookware can cause scratches. Lift pots and cookware when placing them on the hob.

• Signs of usage like scratches or visible material abrasion from cookware are normal with daily use and do not justify a complaint, as the appliance’s function and safety are not affected.

The operating and display elements of your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU hob have the following functions:

Buttons:

• Power symbol: Device ON/OFF.

• 0 . . . . . . . . . P: Slider to set the power level.

• P symbol: Activates PowerPlus.

• II symbol: Pause cooking ON/OFF and restore function.

• Hand symbol: Wipe protection ON/OFF.

• 8 symbol: Select the cooking zone.

• 88 symbol: Set operating time/timer.

Displays:

1. Power level of the cooking zone: Shows the current power setting.

2. Selection point: Indicates that a cooking zone is selected.

3. Operating time activated: Shows that the operating time function is active.

4. Cooking zone indicator light for the operating time: A light associated with the cooking zone using the timer.

5. Operating time/timer: Displays the set time.

6. Pause activated/restoration of saved setting possible: Indicates that the pause function is active or settings can be restored.

7. Wipe protection activated: Shows that the wipe protection function is active.

The V-ZUG GK47TIMSU works differently from conventional hobs. Induction coils under the glass ceramic plate produce a rapidly changing magnetic field that directly heats the magnetic base of the cookware. The glass ceramic plate itself is only warmed by the hot cookware. Removing the cookware immediately interrupts the energy supply.

Pan Detection:

Every cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU is equipped with pan detection, which recognizes cookware with a magnetisable base suitable for induction.

• If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level will flash alternately with the “U” symbol.

• If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from “U” to “0”.

• The entire appliance will switch off after 10 seconds if no other cooking zone is active.

For your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU induction hob, only use cookware with a full magnetic base.

Suitable Cookware Check:

• A magnet will stick anywhere on the base of the cookware.

• When placed on the hob, the power level you set illuminates and does not alternate with the “U” symbol.

Energy-Efficient Cooking Tips:

• The base of the cookware must be clean, dry, and smooth.

• Centre the cookware in the middle of the cooking zone.

• Use a well-fitting lid.

• Match the cookware diameter to the quantity of food being cooked.

Coated Cookware:

• Never heat empty coated cookware at a power level higher than 7, as the coating may overheat and get damaged.

• For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9.

• Never use the PowerPlus function with coated frying pans.

Noise During Cooking:

Cookware can make noise during cooking, which is normal and doesn’t indicate a malfunction. The noise depends on the cookware used. If it is disruptive, try changing the cookware.

The flexible cooking feature on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU means there are no marked cooking zones. Pots of different sizes can be placed on any zone. However, for pan detection to work correctly, the circle symbol (O) on the surface must be covered by the pot.

• If both circle symbols in a zone are covered by a large pot, both heating areas can be operated together using the bridge function.

• For even frying, the pan must be centred on the circle symbol (O).

Switching the Appliance On:

• Depress the power button for 1 second. “0” will flash in all power level displays. The appliance will switch off after about 10 seconds for safety if no other entry is made.

Switching the Appliance Off:

• Touch the power button.

Selecting a Cooking Zone and Setting Power Level:

1. Press the “8” button for the desired cooking zone. “0” will flash in the corresponding power level display, and the selection point for that zone will be illuminated.

2. Touch the slider or swipe it to set the desired power level.

Note: Settings for a cooking zone can only be changed when its selection point is illuminated. If the light goes out, you must select the cooking zone again.

The power levels on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU are designed for various cooking methods. Refer to the table below for guidance:

Your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU hob has several special functions for precise cooking:

Keep Warm Setting (L):

The Keep Warm setting “L” keeps ready-cooked foods warm at approximately 65 °C. It is located between power levels “0” and “1” on the slider.

Melting Function:

This function gently melts items like butter, chocolate, or honey at 40 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone, then hold power level “L” on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars (=) will illuminate in the power level display.

• To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer Function:

This function cooks food like sausages or dumplings below boiling point at about 94 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone, then press the level “L” on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will illuminate in the power level display.

• To switch off: Set any other power level using the slider.

The PowerPlus booster on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU provides extra high power to a cooking zone for 10 minutes, ideal for heating a large quantity of water quickly.

Switching PowerPlus On:

1. Press the “8” button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the slider at the far right end past level 9 twice (• P 2x).

• “P” will be illuminated in the display.

• After 10 minutes, it automatically reverts to power level 9.

Ending PowerPlus Before Time:

• Select the cooking zone and touch the required power level on the slider.

Power Management Limitations:

PowerPlus cannot be used for both cooking zones of a group (Group A: left side zones 1 & 2; Group B: right side zones 3 & 4) at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for a second zone in the same group, the power of the first zone will be reduced automatically. The tables below show the maximum available power levels in the other zone when PowerPlus is active.

With the Automatic Boost function, a cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU will operate at power level 9 for a specific duration before automatically switching back to your pre-selected power level. Do not leave the hob unattended when using this function due to the risk of boiling over or burning.

Switching Automatic Boost On:

1. Press the “8” button of the required cooking zone.

2. Press and hold the required power level (1-8) on the slider for 3 seconds.

• “A” and the selected power level will illuminate alternately in the display.

• After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to the selected power level.

Switching Automatic Boost Off Before Time:

• Press the “8” button of the required cooking zone and set a lower power level using the slider.

The duration of the boost depends on the power level selected:

The operating time function on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU automatically switches off a cooking zone after a set time from 1 to 99 minutes.

Setting the Operating Time:

1. Set the power level for the required cooking zone.

2. Press the “8” button for that cooking zone.

3. Press the “88” button. “00” appears, and the second digit flashes.

4. Use the slider to set the second digit (e.g., for 15 minutes, set ‘5’).

5. Press the “88” button. The first digit flashes.

6. Use the slider to set the first digit (e.g., for 15 minutes, set ‘1’).

7. Press the “88” button to start the timer.

Changing the Operating Time:

1. Press the “8” button for the cooking zone with the active timer.

2. Press the “88” button.

3. Change the second digit using the slider, then press “88”.

4. Change the first digit using the slider, then press “88” to start the new time.

Switching Off Before Time:

Follow the steps for setting the time but set both digits to “0”.

The childproof lock on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU prevents the appliance from being accidentally switched on.

Switching the Childproof Lock On:

1. Switch the appliance on and ensure all cooking zones are switched off.

2. Touch the “II” and hand symbol buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Touch the “II” button again. Another acoustic signal is emitted.

• The lock is now on. The “-” symbol illuminates in all power level displays for 10 seconds.

Operating the Appliance with the Lock Activated (Temporary Override):

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Touch the “II” and hand symbol buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

• The childproof lock is overridden. The appliance can now be used as normal.

• The lock will automatically reactivate after the hob is switched off.

Switching the Childproof Lock Off Permanently:

1. Switch the appliance on. No cooking zone must be in operation.

2. Touch the “II” and hand symbol buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Press the hand symbol button again.

• A double acoustic signal is emitted. “0” flashes for 10 seconds in all displays.

• The childproof lock is now switched off.

Your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU includes several convenience functions:

Restore Function:

If the appliance was accidentally switched off with the power button, the settings can be restored within 6 seconds.

• Switch the appliance on. The illuminated point for the “II” button will flash.

• Press the “II” button to restore the previous settings.

Pause Cooking:

This function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to “1” for up to 10 minutes.

• To activate: Press the “II” button. The indicator light illuminates, and power levels change to “1”. The operating time is interrupted, but the timer continues to run.

• To resume: Press the “II” button again to resume cooking with the previous settings.

• If not resumed within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

Wipe Protection:

This function temporarily deactivates the control panel for 30 seconds to prevent settings from being changed accidentally while wiping it with a cloth.

• To activate: Press the hand symbol button. The indicator light for the button illuminates.

• Wipe protection switches off automatically after 30 seconds or by pressing the hand symbol button again. The main power button remains active at all times.

To keep your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU in good condition, clean the hob after every use to prevent food residues from burning on. For safety, clean the appliance only when it is cold to avoid burns.

• Do not use scouring cleaning agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool, as these can damage the surface.

• For everyday dirt, use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent. Using a protective cleaning agent is recommended.

• Remove encrusted dirt, like boiled-over milk, with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• Remove sugary foods, like marmalade, with a scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent damage to the glass ceramic surface.

• Remove melted plastic with a scraper while the hob is still warm.

• To remove limescale stains, use a small amount of lime-dissolving solution, such as vinegar or lemon juice, when the hob has cooled down. Clean again with a damp cloth afterward.

If your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU is not working and displays are dark, check the following:

• The fuse or circuit breaker is defective: Try changing the fuse or resetting the circuit breaker for the electrical installation in your home.

• The fuse or circuit breaker keeps blowing: Call Customer Services.

• An interruption in the power supply: Check if other appliances are working to confirm if there is a power outage.

If the “U” symbol flashes alternately with the power level on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU, it indicates a pan detection issue. Here are the possible causes and solutions:

• Cookware is not suitable for induction hobs: You are using a pot that is not magnetic. Use suitable magnetic cookware. You can test your cookware with a magnet; if it sticks firmly to the base, it is suitable.

• Cookware is too small for the selected cooking zone: The base of the pot is not large enough for the cooking zone to detect it. Ensure the cookware corresponds to the size of the cooking zone.

If your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU emits a continuous beep, flashes a symbol in a display, and then switches off, it could be due to one of the following:

• A button or a slider was touched for longer than 10 seconds: An object may be resting on the control panel.

• An object (e.g., pan, dish) is on the control panel: The sensor is being obstructed.

• Food boiled over onto the control panel: Spills on the controls can trigger this safety feature.

Solution: Remove the object or clean the food that has boiled over from the control panel. The appliance can then be used again as normal.

If “H” and “0” flash alternately on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU display, it means the automatic safety shut-off has been triggered. This happens when a cooking zone has been running for a long time without any settings being changed. The time until shut-off depends on the power level set.

To resolve this, simply switch the cooking zone back on again if required.

Different error codes on your V-ZUG GK47TIMSU indicate specific issues:

• ‘H’ flashes in the display: The excess temperature protection of a cooking zone was triggered. Allow the cooking zone to cool down. You can continue cooking on a different zone. Check that your cookware is suitable for induction.

• ‘UO’ flashes in the display: There was an interruption in the power supply. Press any button to quit the error message. The appliance can be used again as normal.

• ‘E’ and ‘8’ are illuminated in the display: This indicates an issue with air intake or ventilation.

– An object (e.g., paper) underneath the hob is affecting the air intake. Remove any objects in the drawer underneath the hob. Press any button to cancel the error message. After 10 minutes the appliance can be used again.

– Ventilation is defective. Note down the error number and the serial number (FN) from the identification plate and call Customer Services.

• ‘Er’ or ‘E’ and a number illuminate in the display: An internal error has occurred. Note down the error number and the serial number (FN) of the appliance and call Customer Services.
