Please observe the following appliance-specific safety precautions when using your V-ZUG GK46TISF hob:

• WARNING: If the surface is cracked or there is damage to the material thickness, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply to avoid a possible electric shock.

• WARNING: During use, the appliance and its exposed parts become hot. Please be careful to avoid the exposed parts of the heating elements.

• Never use a steam cleaner.

• Objects made of metal, such as knives, forks, spoons, covers, or aluminium foil, should not be put on the hob as they can become hot.

• WARNING: Leaving fat or oil unattended on the hob can be dangerous and can lead to fires. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water. Instead, switch the appliance off and then carefully cover the flames with an object such as a cover or a fire blanket.

• WARNING: Never leave objects on the hob as they pose a fire hazard.

• The appliance must not be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and have understood the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be undertaken by children without supervision.

To prevent damage to your V-ZUG GK46TISF hob, follow these guidelines:

• In the case of thermal failure, switch the solid plate off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not put any dishes on it or cool it with cold water under any circumstances.

• Do not climb onto the appliance.

• To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

• Do not cut or prepare food on the surface or drop hard objects onto it. Do not drag cookware across the surface.

• Ensure that no sugary foods or juices end up on the hot cooking zones. If they do, remove them immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still hot, as they can damage the surface.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

• Pots with pure copper or aluminium bases should not be used for cooking as they leave behind traces that can be difficult to clean and may permanently ruin the visual appearance of the appliance if not removed immediately.

• Avoid sliding pots and cookware across the glass ceramic surface to prevent scratches. Lift pots and cookware when putting them into place.

The identification plate, which includes the serial number (FN), and the connection plate are located on the underside of the V-ZUG GK46TISF hob. A second identification plate is supplied and should be affixed in the fitted unit underneath the hob for easier access.

The control panel of your V-ZUG GK46TISF hob features several buttons and displays:

Buttons:

• Power button (circle with vertical line): Device ON/OFF.

• Slider (0 • • • • • P): Used to set the power level.

• P: PowerPlus function.

• II button: Pause cooking ON/OFF and restore function.

• Hand icon button: Wipe protection ON/OFF.

• 8 button: Select the cooking zone.

• 88 button: Set the operating time/timer.

Displays:

• 1: Power level of the cooking zone.

• 2: Selection point; indicates the cooking zone is selected.

• 3: Operating time activated symbol.

• 4: Cooking zone indicator light for the operating time.

• 5: Operating time/timer display.

• 6: Pause activated/restoration of saved setting possible indicator.

• 7: Wipe protection activated indicator.

Every cooking zone on the V-ZUG GK46TISF is equipped with pan detection, which recognizes cookware with a magnetisable base suitable for induction cooking.

• If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level display will flash alternately with a ‘U’ symbol.

• If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from ‘U’ to ‘0’.

• If no other cooking zone is active, the entire appliance will switch off after 10 seconds.

Only use cookware with a full magnetic base on your V-ZUG GK46TISF induction hob. You can check for suitability in the following ways:

• A magnet sticks anywhere on the base of the cookware.

• When placed on the hob, the power level you set illuminates and does not alternate with the ‘U’ symbol.

For energy-efficient cooking, ensure the base of the cookware is clean, dry, and smooth. Centre the cookware on the cooking zone, use a well-fitting lid, and match the cookware diameter to the quantity of food.

Coated Cookware: Never heat empty coated cookware at a power level higher than 7, as the coating may become overheated and damaged. For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9. Never use the PowerPlus function with coated frying pans.

To switch the appliance on:

Depress the Power button for 1 second. A ‘0’ will flash in all the power level displays. If no other entry is made, the appliance will switch off again after about 10 seconds for safety.

To switch the appliance off:

Touch the Power button.

Step 1. Press the ‘8’ button for the required cooking zone. A ‘0’ will flash in the corresponding display, and the selection point for that zone will be illuminated.

Step 2. Touch the slider or swipe it to set the desired power level (e.g., from 1 to 9).

Note: Settings for a cooking zone can only be changed when its selection point is illuminated. If the light goes out, you must select the cooking zone again by pressing its ‘8’ button.

The following table provides an overview of power levels and their uses on your V-ZUG GK46TISF hob:

Step 1. Press the ‘8’ button of the cooking zone you wish to turn off. The selection point will illuminate.

Step 2. Touch the power level ‘0’ on the slider.

If no other cooking zones are active and no further entry is made, the entire appliance will switch off after 10 seconds.

The ‘H’ symbol is the residual heat indicator. After a cooking zone is switched off, ‘H’ remains illuminated in its display as long as there is a risk of burns from residual heat on the glass surface.

Keep Warm Setting (L):

The keep warm setting ‘L’ keeps ready-cooked food warm at approximately 65 °C. It can be selected on the slider between power levels ‘0’ and ‘1’.

Melting Function:

This function gently melts items like butter or chocolate at 40 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone and hold the power level ‘L’ on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars (=) will illuminate in the power level display.

• To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer Function:

This function cooks food like sausages or dumplings below boiling point at about 94 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone and press the level ‘L’ on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will illuminate in the power level display.

• To switch off: Set any power level using the slider.

PowerPlus (‘P’) provides extra high power for 10 minutes, ideal for heating large quantities of water quickly. To activate it, select a cooking zone and touch ‘P’ on the slider. After 10 minutes, it automatically reverts to power level 9.

Power Management Limitations:

The hob manages power distribution between pairs of cooking zones (groups A and B). PowerPlus cannot be used for both cooking zones of a group at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for a second zone in a group, the power of the first zone is automatically reduced. The maximum available power levels are shown below:

If the power level is raised above these specified values, the PowerPlus function on the other zone will switch off.

The automatic boost function allows a cooking zone to operate at power level 9 for a specific duration before automatically switching back to your pre-selected power level. Do not leave the hob unattended when using this function.

To switch on automatic boost:

Step 1. Select the required cooking zone by pressing its ‘8’ button.

Step 2. Press and hold the desired final power level (e.g., 6) on the slider for 3 seconds.

The display will alternately show ‘A’ and the selected power level. After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to the selected level.

To switch off before time:

Select the cooking zone and set a lower power level using the slider.

The boost duration depends on the selected final power level:

This function automatically switches a cooking zone off after a set time from 1 to 99 minutes.

Setting the operating time:

Step 1. Set the required cooking zone and power level.

Step 2. Press the ‘8’ button for that zone.

Step 3. Press the ’88’ button. ’00’ appears in the display, and the second digit flashes.

Step 4. Set the second digit of the operating time using the slider.

Step 5. Press the ’88’ button again. The first digit now flashes.

Step 6. Set the first digit of the operating time using the slider.

Step 7. Press the ’88’ button to start the timer. The operating time starts counting down.

When the time has ended, an acoustic signal sounds, and the cooking zone switches off.

The timer functions like an egg timer for 1–99 minutes and does not switch off a cooking zone. It can only be set when at least one cooking zone is in operation.

Setting the timer:

Step 1. Switch on the appliance.

Step 2. Press the ’88’ button. ’00’ appears, and the second digit flashes.

Step 3. Set the second digit using the slider.

Step 4. Press the ’88’ button. The first digit flashes.

Step 5. Set the first digit using the slider.

Step 6. Press the ’88’ button. The timer starts.

Switching the timer off before time:

If a cooking zone is in operation, press the ’88’ button and set both digits to ‘0’ one after another using the slider.

The childproof lock prevents the appliance from being accidentally switched on.

Switching the childproof lock on:

Step 1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure all cooking zones are off.

Step 2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘hand icon’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

Step 3. Touch the ‘II’ button again. An acoustic signal is emitted. A symbol illuminates in all power level displays for 10 seconds, confirming the lock is active.

Operating the appliance with the lock activated (temporary override):

Step 1. Switch the appliance on.

Step 2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘hand icon’ buttons at the same time. The lock is overridden, and the hob can be used as normal. The lock will automatically reactivate after the hob is switched off.

Switching the childproof lock off permanently:

Step 1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure no cooking zones are operating.

Step 2. Touch the ‘II’ and ‘hand icon’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

Step 3. Press the ‘hand icon’ button again. A double acoustic signal is emitted, and ‘0’ flashes for 10 seconds. The childproof lock is now switched off.

Restore Function: If the appliance was switched off accidentally with the power button, you can restore your settings within 6 seconds. Switch the appliance back on; the illuminated point for the ‘II’ button will flash. Press the ‘II’ button to restore the previous settings.

Pause Cooking: This function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to level ‘1’ for up to 10 minutes. Press the ‘II’ button to activate. The indicator light for the ‘II’ button illuminates. To resume cooking with the previous settings, press the ‘II’ button again. If not resumed within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

Wipe Protection: This function temporarily deactivates the control panel to prevent accidental changes while cleaning. Press the ‘hand icon’ button to activate; its indicator light will illuminate. The panel is locked for 30 seconds. To deactivate it sooner, press the ‘hand icon’ button again.

Clean the hob after every use to prevent food residues from burning on. Preferably, clean the appliance when it is cold to avoid burns.

• For everyday dirt, use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent. Do not use scouring agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool.

• Remove encrusted dirt (e.g., boiled-over milk) with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• Remove sugary foods (e.g., marmalade) with a scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent damage to the surface.

• Remove melted plastic with a scraper while the hob is still warm.

• Remove limescale stains with a small amount of lime-dissolving solution (e.g., vinegar or lemon juice) once the hob has cooled down. Clean again with a damp cloth.

If the appliance is not working and the displays are not illuminated, check the following:

Possible cause	Solution
The fuse or circuit breaker for electrical installations in the home is defective.	Change the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
The fuse or circuit breaker keeps blowing.	Call Customer Services.
An interruption in the power supply.	Check the power supply.

This indicates a pan detection issue.

Possible cause	Solution
Cookware is not suitable for use with induction hobs.	Use suitable magnetic cookware.
Cookware is too small for the cooking zone selected.	Ensure cookware corresponds to the size of the cooking zone.

This happens when the control panel senses a continuous touch or obstruction.

Possible cause	Solution
A button or slider was touched for longer than 10 seconds.	Remove any object, spillage, or food that has boiled over from the control panel. The appliance can then be used again as normal.
An object (e.g., pan, dish) is on the control panel.
Food has boiled over onto the control panel.

This indicates that the automatic safety shut-off was triggered. If a cooking zone has been running for a long time without any settings being changed, it switches off automatically for safety. You can switch the cooking zone back on again if required. The shut-off time depends on the power level set:

‘UO’ flashes in the display:

This indicates an interruption in the power supply. Press any button to quit the error message. The appliance can then be used again as normal.

‘E’ and ‘8’ are illuminated in the display:

This may be due to an object (e.g., paper) underneath the hob affecting the air intake or defective ventilation. First, remove any objects in the drawer underneath the hob and press any button to cancel the error. If the problem persists, or if you suspect defective ventilation, note down the error number and call Customer Services.

‘Er’ or ‘E’ and a number illuminate in the display:

This indicates an internal error has occurred. Note down the error number and the serial number (FN) from the identification plate, then call Customer Services.
