Please observe the following appliance-specific safety precautions when using your V-ZUG GK36TISF hob:

▪ WARNING: If the surface is cracked or there is damage to the material thickness, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply to avoid a possible electric shock.

▪ WARNING: During use, the appliance and its exposed parts become hot. Be careful to avoid touching the exposed parts of the heating elements.

▪ Never use a steam cleaner.

▪ Objects made of metal, such as knives, forks, spoons, covers, or aluminum foil, should not be put on the hob as they can become hot.

▪ WARNING: Leaving fat or oil unattended on the hob can be dangerous and may lead to fires. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water. Instead, switch the appliance off and carefully cover the flames with an object like a cover or a fire blanket.

▪ WARNING: Never leave objects on the hob as they pose a fire hazard.

▪ The appliance must not be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.

To avoid damaging your V-ZUG GK36TISF hob, please follow these guidelines:

▪ In case of thermal failure, switch the solid plate off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not put any dishes on it or cool it with cold water.

▪ Do not climb onto the appliance.

▪ To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

▪ Do not cut or prepare food on the surface or drop hard objects onto it. Do not drag cookware across the surface.

▪ Ensure no sugary foods or juices end up on the hot cooking zones. If they do, remove them immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still hot to prevent surface damage.

▪ Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

▪ Pots with pure copper or aluminum bases should not be used, as they can leave traces that are difficult to clean and may permanently burn on.

▪ Avoid sliding pots and cookware across the glass ceramic surface to prevent scratches. Lift pots and cookware when placing them.

▪ Signs of usage like scratches are normal with daily use and do not affect the appliance’s function or safety.

Before the first use, your V-ZUG GK36TISF must be installed and connected to the electricity supply according to the separate installation instructions by a qualified fitter/electrician.

During the first few hours of use, a cooking zone might emit an unpleasant smell. This is normal for new appliances. Ensure the room is well-ventilated.

The identification plate and connection plate are on the underside of the hob. A second identification plate is supplied to be affixed in the fitted unit underneath the hob. Note down the serial number (FN) as it is required for identifying the appliance for customer services.

Every cooking zone on your V-ZUG GK36TISF is equipped with pan detection, which recognizes cookware with a magnetisable base suitable for induction hobs.

▪ If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level flashes alternately with the U symbol.

▪ If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from U to 0.

▪ The appliance will switch off completely after 10 seconds if no other cooking zone is active.

Only use cookware with a full magnetic base with your V-ZUG GK36TISF. You can check for suitability in the following ways:

▪ A magnet sticks anywhere on the base of the cookware.

▪ On the hob, the set power level illuminates and does not alternate with the U symbol.

Do not heat unsuitable cookware using aids like metal rings, as this can damage the hob.

Energy-efficient cooking

For maximum energy efficiency, ensure:

▪ The base of the cookware is clean, dry, and smooth.

▪ The cookware is centered in the middle of the cooking zone.

▪ You use a well-fitting lid.

▪ The diameter of the cookware matches the quantity of food.

Coated cookware

▪ Never heat empty coated cookware at a power level higher than 7, as the coating can become overheated and damaged.

▪ For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9.

▪ Never use PowerPlus with coated frying pans.

Noise during cooking

Cookware can make noise during cooking, which is not a malfunction. The noise depends on the cookware used. If it causes a disturbance, changing the cookware may help.

To switch the appliance on:

Depress the (Power symbol) button for 1 second. A 0 will flash in all the power level displays. If no other entry is made, the appliance switches off again after about 10 seconds for safety.

To switch the appliance off:

Touch the (Power symbol) button.

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button for the required cooking zone. A 0 will flash in the corresponding power level display, and the selection point for this zone will be illuminated.

2. Touch the slider or swipe it to set the desired power level.

Note: Settings for a cooking zone can only be changed when its selection point is illuminated. If the light goes out, you must select the cooking zone again.

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required cooking zone. The selection point for this zone will illuminate.

2. Touch power level «0» on the slider.

If no other entry is made and the other cooking zones are switched off, the appliance switches off completely after 10 seconds.

Keep warm setting (L): This setting keeps ready-cooked foods warm at approximately 65 °C. It is located between power levels 0 and 1.

Melting function: This function gently melts items like butter, chocolate, or honey at 40 °C.

▪ To switch on: Hold power level L on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars = will illuminate in the display.

▪ To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer function: This function cooks food like sausages, dumplings, and pasta below boiling point at about 94 °C.

▪ To switch on: Press the level L on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will illuminate in the power level display.

▪ To switch off: Set any power level using the slider.

The PowerPlus booster provides extra high power for 10 minutes, ideal for heating a large quantity of water quickly. All cooking zones are equipped with it.

Switching PowerPlus on

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the slider at the far right twice (past level 9). P will illuminate in the display.

After 10 minutes, the power automatically reverts to level 9. If cookware is removed, PowerPlus is interrupted and will resume when the cookware is placed back on the zone.

Ending PowerPlus before time

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the required power level on the slider.

On the V-ZUG GK36TISF, PowerPlus cannot be used on cooking zones 1 (front left) and 2 (back left) at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for both, the power of the cooking zone that was initially set will be reduced. Cooking zone 3 (right) can be operated with PowerPlus independently of zones 1 and 2.

The maximum available power levels are as follows:

If the power level is raised above these specified values, the PowerPlus function on the other zone will switch off.

WARNING: Do not leave the hob unattended when using the automatic boost due to the risk of boiling over, burning on, and igniting.

This function runs a cooking zone at power level 9 for a set time before automatically switching back to the pre-selected power level. The function must be activated anew each time a cooking zone is switched on.

Switching the automatic boost on

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required cooking zone.

2. Press the required power level on the slider for 3 seconds.

As long as the boost is active, A and the power level will illuminate alternately in the display. After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to the selected power level.

Switching the automatic boost off before time

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required cooking zone.

2. Set a lower power level using the slider.

The operating time function switches a cooking zone off automatically after a set time from 1 to 99 minutes.

Setting the operating time

1. Set the required cooking zone and power level.

2. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button for that zone.

3. Press the (Timer symbol) button. 00 appears, and the second digit flashes.

4. Set the second digit of the operating time using the slider.

5. Press the (Timer symbol) button. The first digit flashes.

6. Set the first digit of the operating time using the slider.

7. Press the (Timer symbol) button to start.

Changing the operating time

1. Press the (Cooking zone symbol) button of the required zone.

2. Press the (Timer symbol) button.

3. Change the second digit using the slider, then press the (Timer symbol) button.

4. Change the first digit using the slider, then press the (Timer symbol) button to start the new time.

Switching the operating time off before time

1. Select the cooking zone.

2. Press the (Timer symbol) button.

3. Set the second digit to 0 using the slider, then press the (Timer symbol) button.

4. Set the first digit to 0 using the slider, then press the (Timer symbol) button. The cooking zone remains in operation without a timer.

The timer functions like an egg timer for 1-99 minutes and can only be set when a cooking zone is in operation. A cooking zone can be started while the timer is running, but you cannot set a separate operating time for it.

Setting the timer

1. Switch on the appliance.

2. Press the (Timer symbol) button. 00 appears, and the second digit flashes.

3. Set the second digit using the slider.

4. Press the (Timer symbol) button. The first digit flashes.

5. Set the first digit using the slider.

6. Press the (Timer symbol) button to start.

Changing the timer

1. Switch on the appliance.

2. Press the (Timer symbol) button. The remaining time is displayed.

3. Follow the steps for setting the timer to enter a new time.

Switching the timer off before time

▪ If no cooking zone is in operation: Turn the appliance on and off again.

▪ If a cooking zone is in operation: Press the (Timer symbol) button and set both digits to 0 one after another using the slider.

Switching the childproof lock on

1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure all cooking zones are switched off.

2. Touch the II (Pause symbol) and (Hand/Wipe symbol) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Touch the II (Pause symbol) button again. An acoustic signal is emitted, and a symbol illuminates in all power level displays for 10 seconds. The childproof lock is now on.

Operating the appliance with the childproof lock activated

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Touch the II (Pause symbol) and (Hand/Wipe symbol) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted, and the lock is temporarily overridden. You can now use the appliance as normal. The lock will automatically reactivate after switching off the hob.

Switching the childproof lock off

1. Switch the appliance on. No cooking zone must be in operation.

2. Touch the II (Pause symbol) and (Hand/Wipe symbol) buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Press the (Hand/Wipe symbol) button again. A double acoustic signal is emitted, and 0 flashes on all power level displays for 10 seconds. The childproof lock is now switched off.

Restore function

If the appliance was accidentally switched off with the (Power symbol) button, the settings can be restored within 6 seconds.

1. Switch on the appliance. The illuminated point for the II (Pause symbol) button will flash.

2. Press the II (Pause symbol) button to restore the previous settings.

Pause cooking

This function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to 1 for up to 10 minutes.

▪ To activate: Press the II (Pause symbol) button. The indicator light illuminates, power levels change to 1, and the operating time is interrupted. All buttons except (Power symbol), II (Pause symbol), and (Hand/Wipe symbol) are inactive.

▪ To resume: Press the II (Pause symbol) button again. The cooking zones resume with their previous settings. If not resumed within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

Wipe protection

This function prevents the power level from being changed accidentally, for example, when wiping the control panel.

▪ To activate: Press the (Hand/Wipe symbol) button. The indicator light for the button illuminates.

▪ Wipe protection is switched off by pressing the (Hand/Wipe symbol) button again or automatically after 30 seconds. You can press the (Power symbol) button at any time to switch the appliance off.

Preferably, clean the appliance only when it is cold to avoid a burns hazard. Clean the hob after every use to prevent food residues from burning on.

▪ Do not use scouring cleaning agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool, as this can damage the surface.

▪ For everyday dirt, use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent. Using protective cleaning agents is recommended.

▪ Remove encrusted dirt, like boiled-over milk, with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

▪ Remove sugary foods, like marmalade, with a scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent surface damage.

▪ Remove melted plastic with a scraper while the hob is still warm.

▪ Remove limescale stains with a small amount of lime-dissolving solution (e.g., vinegar or lemon juice) when the hob has cooled down. Then clean again with a damp cloth.

This indicates that the automatic safety shut-off was triggered. If a cooking zone has been running for a long time without any settings being changed, it switches off automatically. The time depends on the power level set. To continue cooking, switch the cooking zone back on if required.

If ‘H’ flashes in the display:

This indicates the excess temperature protection of a cooking zone was triggered.

▪ Allow the cooking zone to cool down.

▪ Continue cooking on a different cooking zone.

▪ Check the cookware.

If ‘U0’ flashes in the display:

This indicates an interruption in the power supply.

▪ Press any button to quit the error message.

▪ The appliance can be used again as normal.

If ‘E’ and a number are illuminated in the display:

This could be due to an object affecting air intake or defective ventilation.

▪ Remove any objects (e.g., paper) in the drawer underneath the hob.

▪ Press any button to cancel the error message. After 10 minutes, the appliance can be used again.

▪ If the error persists, note down the error number and the serial number (FN) from the identification plate and call Customer Services.

If ‘Er’ or ‘E’ and a number illuminate in the display:

This indicates an internal error occurred.
