Please follow these important safety precautions when using your V-ZUG GK46TIXSF hob:

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and have understood the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be undertaken by children without supervision.

• WARNING: If the surface is cracked or there is damage to the material thickness, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply in order to avoid a possible electric shock.

• WARNING: During use, the appliance and its exposed parts become hot. Please be careful to avoid the exposed parts of the heating elements.

• Never use a steam cleaner.

• Objects made of metal, e.g. knives, forks, spoons, covers or aluminium foil, should not be put on the hob as they can become hot.

• WARNING: Leaving fat or oil unattended on the hob can be dangerous and can lead to fires. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water. Instead, switch the appliance off and then carefully cover the flames with an object such as a cover or a fire blanket.

• WARNING: Never leave objects on the hob as they pose a fire hazard.

• The appliance must not be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.

To prevent damage to your V-ZUG GK46TIXSF hob, please observe the following:

• In the case of thermal failure, switch the solid plate off and allow it to cool down completely. Do not put any dishes on it. Do not cool with cold water under any circumstances.

• Do not climb onto the appliance.

• To avoid damaging the silicon grouting, do not put hot cookware on the frame.

• Do not cut or prepare food on the surface or drop hard objects onto it. Do not drag cookware across the surface.

• Make sure that no sugary foods or juices end up on the hot cooking zones. If they do, remove them immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still hot, as they can damage the surface.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

• Pots with pure copper or aluminium bases should not be used as they leave behind traces that can be difficult to clean and may permanently ruin the visual appearance of the appliance if not removed immediately.

• Sliding pots and cookware causes scratches. You can largely avoid these by lifting pots and cookware when putting them into place.

To dispose of your old V-ZUG GK46TIXSF hob correctly and safely, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect the appliance from the mains electricity. This should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

2. Disable the appliance to prevent accidents, especially from children playing. Pull the plug out or have it disconnected by an electrician, then cut the mains cable off flush with the appliance.

The control panel of your V-ZUG GK46TIXSF consists of several buttons and displays:

Buttons:

• Power Icon: Device ON/OFF.

• 0 . . . . . . . . P: Slider to set the power level.

• P: PowerPlus function.

• ||: Pause cooking ON/OFF and restore function.

• Hand Icon: Wipe protection ON/OFF.

• 8: Select the cooking zone.

• 88: Set operating time/timer.

Displays:

1. Power level of the cooking zone.

2. Selection point: indicates which cooking zone is selected.

3. Operating time activated.

4. Cooking zone indicator light for the operating time.

5. Operating time/timer value.

6. Pause activated/restoration of saved setting possible.

7. Wipe protection activated.

Every cooking zone on the V-ZUG GK46TIXSF is equipped with pan detection. This feature recognises cookware with a magnetisable base that is suitable for induction hobs.

• If cookware is removed during operation or unsuitable cookware is used, the selected power level display flashes alternately with a “U” symbol.

• If no cookware is placed on the cooking zone within 10 minutes, the cooking zone switches off automatically, and the display changes from “U” to “0”.

• If no other cooking zone is active, the entire appliance will switch off after another 10 seconds.

Only cookware with a full magnetic base is suitable for use with the V-ZUG GK46TIXSF induction hob. You can check this in the following ways:

• A magnet sticks anywhere on the base of the cookware.

• On the hob, the set power level illuminates and does not alternate with the “U” symbol.

Important Notes:

• Do not heat unsuitable cookware using aids like metal rings, as this can damage the hob.

• For energy efficiency, ensure the cookware base is clean, dry, and smooth. Centre the cookware on the cooking zone, use a well-fitting lid, and match the cookware diameter to the amount of food.

• Coated cookware should never be heated empty at a power level higher than 7. For frying, do not use a power level higher than 9. Never use the PowerPlus function with coated frying pans.

To switch the appliance on:

• Press the power button for 1 second. A “0” will flash in all the power level displays. If no other entry is made, the appliance will switch off again after about 10 seconds for safety.

To switch the appliance off:

• Touch the power button.

1. Press the “8” button for the cooking zone you wish to use. A “0” will flash in its power level display, and the selection point for that zone will illuminate.

2. Touch the slider or swipe along it to set the desired power level from 1 to 9. The setting can only be changed while the selection point is illuminated. If it goes out, you must select the cooking zone again.

The following table provides an overview of power levels and their uses:

1. Press the “8” button of the required cooking zone to select it.

2. Touch the power level “0” on the slider. The cooking zone will turn off.

If no other cooking zones are active, the entire appliance will switch off after 10 seconds.

The ‘H’ symbol is the residual heat indicator. After a cooking zone is switched off, ‘H’ remains illuminated in its display as long as there is a risk of burns from residual heat. Do not touch the cooking zone until the ‘H’ symbol has disappeared.

Keep Warm Setting (L):

The keep warm setting ‘L’ keeps ready-cooked foods warm at approximately 65 °C. It can be found between power levels 0 and 1 on the slider.

Melting Function:

This function gently melts items like butter or chocolate at 40 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone, then hold power level ‘L’ on the slider for 2 seconds. Two horizontal bars (=) will appear in the display.

• To switch off: Use the slider to set any other power level.

Simmer Function:

This function cooks food like sausages or dumplings below boiling point at about 94 °C.

• To switch on: Select a cooking zone, then press the level ‘L’ on the slider for 4 seconds. Three cross pieces will appear in the display.

• To switch off: Set any other power level using the slider.

The PowerPlus function (booster) allows a cooking zone to operate at extra high power for 10 minutes, ideal for heating a large quantity of water quickly.

To switch PowerPlus on:

1. Press the “8” button of the required cooking zone.

2. Touch the slider past level 9, at the ‘P’ mark. ‘P’ will be illuminated in the display.

After 10 minutes, the power automatically reverts to level 9. If you remove the cookware, PowerPlus is interrupted and will resume when the pan is placed back on the zone.

To end PowerPlus early:

1. Select the cooking zone.

2. Touch the required power level on the slider.

Yes, the V-ZUG GK46TIXSF has a power management system. The hob is divided into two groups of cooking zones: Group A (left side) and Group B (right side). PowerPlus cannot be used for both cooking zones of a group (A or B) at the same time. If PowerPlus is activated for a second zone in the same group, the power of the first zone will be reduced automatically. The maximum available power levels are as follows:

If you try to raise the power level above these specified values, the PowerPlus function on the other hob will switch off.

The automatic boost function allows a cooking zone to operate at power level 9 for a specific duration before automatically switching back to a lower, pre-selected power level. This is useful for bringing liquids to a boil before simmering.

To switch on automatic boost:

1. Select the desired cooking zone.

2. Press and hold the required final power level on the slider for 3 seconds.

During the boost phase, ‘A’ and the final power level will illuminate alternately in the display. After the boost time ends, the heat output reduces to the selected power level.

The duration of the boost at level 9 depends on the final power level you set:

To switch off automatic boost before time:

1. Select the cooking zone.

2. Set a lower power level using the slider.

The operating time function allows a cooking zone to switch off automatically after a set time from 1 to 99 minutes.

Setting the operating time:

1. Select the required cooking zone.

2. Press the ’88’ button. ’00’ appears in the display and the second digit flashes.

3. Set the second digit (minutes) using the slider.

4. Press the ’88’ button again. The first digit flashes.

5. Set the first digit (tens of minutes) using the slider.

6. Press the ’88’ button to start the timer.

At the end of the operating time:

The assigned cooking zone switches off, an acoustic signal is emitted, and ’00’ flashes in the display. Press any button to switch off the signal and displays.

The childproof lock prevents the hob from being accidentally switched on.

Switching the childproof lock on:

1. Switch the appliance on. Ensure all cooking zones are switched off.

2. Touch the ‘||’ and ‘Hand’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Touch the ‘||’ button again. An acoustic signal is emitted, and the lock symbol illuminates in all displays for 10 seconds. The lock is now on.

Operating the appliance with the childproof lock activated:

To use the hob, you must temporarily override the lock each time.

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Touch the ‘||’ and ‘Hand’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted, and the lock is overridden. The appliance can now be used as normal.

The lock will automatically reactivate after switching the hob off.

Switching the childproof lock off permanently:

1. Switch on the appliance. No cooking zone must be in operation.

2. Touch the ‘||’ and ‘Hand’ buttons at the same time. An acoustic signal is emitted.

3. Press the ‘Hand’ button again. A double acoustic signal is emitted, ‘0’ flashes in all displays for 10 seconds, and the lock is now switched off.

If the appliance was switched off accidentally with the power button, the Restore function allows you to restore your previous settings within 6 seconds.

1. Switch the appliance back on within 6 seconds.

2. The illuminated point for the ‘||’ button will flash.

3. Press the ‘||’ button to restore the previous settings.

The Pause cooking function temporarily reduces the power level of all active cooking zones to level 1 for up to 10 minutes.

• To activate: Press the ‘||’ button. The indicator light illuminates, and all active zones change to power level 1. The operating time is interrupted, but the timer continues to run. Most buttons are inactive during this mode.

• To deactivate: Press the ‘||’ button again to resume cooking with the previous settings.

If the pause function is not turned off within 10 minutes, the appliance switches off completely.

The Wipe Protection function prevents the power level from being changed accidentally, for instance when wiping the control panel with a cloth.

• Press the ‘Hand’ button to activate it. The indicator light for the button illuminates, and the controls are locked.

• Wipe protection is switched off by pressing the ‘Hand’ button again or automatically after 30 seconds.

You can press the main power button to switch the appliance off at any time.

Clean the hob after every use to prevent food residues from burning on. It is preferable to clean when the appliance is cold.

• Do not use scouring cleaning agents, all-purpose scouring pads, or steel wool, as these can damage the surface.

• For everyday dirt, use a soft cloth or sponge with water and a suitable cleaning agent.

• For encrusted dirt (e.g., from milk that has boiled over), use a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• For sugary foods (e.g., marmalade), remove immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm to prevent damage to the surface.

• For melted plastic, remove immediately with a glass ceramic hob scraper while the hob is still warm.

• For limescale stains, use a small amount of lime-dissolving solution (e.g., vinegar or lemon juice) when the hob has cooled down, then clean again with a damp cloth.

If your hob shows no signs of power, check the following:

• The fuse or circuit breaker for your home is defective: Try to change the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

• The fuse or circuit breaker keeps blowing: Call Customer Services.

• There is an interruption in the power supply: Check your home’s power supply.

This indicates a problem with the cookware.

• Cookware is not suitable for induction hobs: Use suitable magnetic cookware.

• Cookware is too small for the selected cooking zone: Ensure the cookware corresponds to the size of the cooking zone.

This symbol indicates that the childproof lock is activated. To operate the appliance, you need to either temporarily override the lock or switch it off completely. Refer to the instructions for operating with the childproof lock activated or deactivating it.

This can happen for a few reasons:

• A button or the slider was touched for longer than 10 seconds.

• An object (like a pan or dish) is on the control panel.

• Food has boiled over onto the control panel.

Solution: Remove the object or clean the food that has boiled over. The appliance can then be used again as normal.

This indicates that the automatic safety shut-off was triggered. If a cooking zone has been running for a long time without any settings being changed, it switches off automatically for safety. The time until shut-off depends on the power level set.

You can switch the cooking zone back on again if required.

A flashing ‘H’ indicates that the excess temperature protection of a cooking zone has been triggered.

Solution:

• Allow the cooking zone to cool down.

• Continue cooking on a different cooking zone.

• Check your cookware to ensure it’s suitable and not empty.

This error message indicates an interruption in the power supply.

Solution: Press any button to quit the error message. The appliance can then be used again as normal.

This error code can indicate one of two issues:

• An object underneath the hob is affecting the air intake: Remove any objects (e.g., paper) in the drawer underneath the hob. Press any button to cancel the error message. After 10 minutes, the appliance can be used again as normal.

• Ventilation is defective: If the problem persists, note down the error number and the serial number (FN) of the appliance from the identification plate and call Customer Services.

This indicates an internal error has occurred.

Solution:

• Note down the error number.

• Note down the serial number (FN) of the appliance from the identification plate.

• Call Customer Services with this information.
