What are the key features of the TOHNICHI RNTD torque driver?
The TOHNICHI RNTD features a Toggle type torque detection mechanism that ensures accuracy and long durability. When you feel a click, tightening is completed. It is suitable for single purpose tightening.
What are the critical warnings for using the TOHNICHI RNTD torque driver?
Make sure there is no oil or grease on the grip. A slip of the hand while tightening may cause an accident or injury.
Do not set the torque driver beyond the maximum torque setting. This will cause damage or injury.
Check for cracks, scratches and rust. These will cause damage to the driver and may result in an injury. If such conditions exist, have a functional test performed and repair if necessary.
Do not drop the torque driver or apply a strong shock or jolt. This will cause damage or deformation as well as decrease the accuracy and durability, which may cause an accident or injury.
Are there any environmental restrictions for using the TOHNICHI RNTD torque driver?
Do not use the torque driver in the rain, high temperature or high humidity; this may result in malfunction due to rust. Do not use the torque driver where there are high levels of dirt or dust.

The accuracy for all models is ±3% and the loading direction is clockwise.

For RNTD120CN, 260CN, a black-colored resin grip is supplied as a standard accessory.
For NTD120CN, 260CN, a green-colored resin grip is supplied as a standard accessory.
A T-bar is a standard accessory for NTD 500CN and 1000CN only.
How do I operate the TOHNICHI RNTD torque driver?
1. Torque Setting: Hold the grip of the Driver in your hand. Insert the optional Adjusting Bar into the slit of the Adjusting Screw and turn it. When turning the Adjusting Screw clockwise, the torque will increase. Use a TDT3-G torque driver tester to set the desired torque.
2. Insert the Bit: Insert the required bit into the adapter of the Driver.
3. Position the Bit: Insert the tip of the bit into the slit of the screw head.
4. Tighten: Turn the Torque Driver clockwise to tighten.
5. Completion: Tightening is completed when a click is felt.
Model Specifics:
The RNTD model is a rotary slip clutch type.
For the NTD model, when reaching the set torque, the break is felt by hand in 15 degrees. Stop and complete the tightening work within these 15 degrees.
What are the main precautions when handling the TOHNICHI RNTD?
For the NTD model, applying more torque beyond the click will lead to over-torquing.
Since the RNTD model is a rotary slip clutch type mechanism, over-torquing is eliminated. However, idle extra clicks will result in clutch engagement wearing and may shorten durability.
Select a proper bit to adapt to the slit of the screw head. If the size of the bit is not correct, the screw head may be damaged by the bit.
How do I change the bit on my TOHNICHI RNTD torque driver?
When inserting the bit, push the bit until the ball in the Coupler stays in the center of the bit groove.
If the bit is tight and difficult to remove, use a plier to pull it out.
