TOHNICHI QSPCALS70N (01) PDF DOCUMENT

In order to use the TOHNICHI QSPCALS70N torque wrench properly and safely, please read all instructions before operation. Keep the Operating Instruction for future use.

Please observe the following safety warnings when operating the TOHNICHI QSPCALS70N:

• Do not get oily or grease on the grip part. This can cause your hand to slip, leading to accidents or injuries.

• Make sure there are no cracks, flaws, or rusts. Damage can lead to breakage, causing accidents or injuries. Have the tool inspected or repaired if damage is found.

• Do not use it for working in high places. Dropping a torque wrench or socket can cause serious accidents or injuries.

• Do not use it if parts such as pins, scale plate, or others are missing. This can cause accidents or injuries from breakage failure.

• Make sure there are no obstacles in the loading direction. Pay attention not to hit your hands or elbows against surroundings when using the torque wrench.

Please adhere to the following cautions:

• Do not use it with a torque value over the maximum setting. This can cause accidents or injuries due to breakage.

• Do not use an adapter to reduce the size of the square drive. This may result in over-stressing the square drive, leading to breakage failure.

• Do not make any alterations to the torque wrench. This can cause torque strength deterioration or accuracy deviation.

• Do not drop or give a strong impact to the torque wrench, as this can cause breakage or shape changes that deteriorate accuracy and durability.

• Do not place the torque wrench in an upright position, as it may fall and cause injury or damage.

• Do not use any spare parts except for Tohnichi genuine parts. When making a repair, use only Tohnichi spare parts.

• Before use, always make sure the set torque is correct and that you are using the proper torque unit.

• Distinguish the slip-type torque wrench from ordinary click-type torque wrenches. A click-type wrench can apply excessive torque if you continue to apply force after the click sound. Be careful not to get confused when switching between wrench types.

• Do not use the torque wrench in water or the sea, as this can damage the internal structure. If the wrench is dropped in water, have it inspected and repaired.

• When working in a high place, take preventive measures to prevent the wrench or socket from dropping.

• Use an appropriate socket that fits the size of your hexagon bolt head. Using a different size socket can cause accidents or injuries.

Follow these steps to set the torque. Note that the adjusting tool is sold separately.

1. Insert the adjusting tool into the adjusting hole at the rear of the tool’s body.

2. With the tool on a torque wrench tester (e.g., DOTE, TCC models), turn the adjusting tool to set the torque value.

• Turn the adjusting tool clockwise to increase the torque value.

• Turn the adjusting tool counterclockwise to decrease the torque value.

The TOHNICHI QSPCALS70N uses a pre-lock mechanism, so it is not necessary to lock the setting after the torque is set.

1. Set the proper torque value. If the wrench was purchased with a specified torque, confirm the set value is correct before use.

2. Insert a socket into the square drive of the torque wrench.

3. Place the socket onto the bolt head or nut.

4. Turn the torque wrench clockwise for tightening.

5. Tightening is complete when you hear a click sound and feel the wrench slip (disengage).

1. When the curled cable is connected to the loading circuit, follow the limit specifications of AC & DC 30V, below 1A.

2. Be careful not to damage or jolt the limit switch when in use. This may lead to a malfunction.

3. Do not cut or damage the curled cable. This may cause an electric shock and/or make the part inoperable.

4. Do not open the limit switch cover. It protects the parts from dirt and dust that may interfere with proper operation of the parts.

5. Do not disassemble or modify the plug, curled cable, or limit switch parts.

6. Do not pull the curled cable too hard or hang the torque wrench with the curled cable.

7. If you accidentally tighten twice or more in one tightening operation, completion signals will be output according to the number of actual tightening. To prevent this, please set the function of a double-count prevention timer using a count checker (CNA-4mk3) or an equivalent device.

8. The female plug is not a standard accessory. When ordering the female plug, request part number WA5219K.

• Have a periodical inspection for the torque wrench as it is a measurement tool.

• After use, keep it clean by taking out dirt, dust, mud, oil, moisture, etc.

• If not kept clean, it can cause improper operation and affect accuracy.

• Keep it in a dried place, applying anti-rust oil when not using it for a long time.

• Improper storage keeping festinates the deviation of accuracy and durability.

• Stop using the torque wrench if abnormal actuation occurs. Ask for an inspection or repair from the seller or Tohnichi.

• CNA-4mk3: A count checker that connects directly to the torque wrench with a limit switch. It counts the number of tightened bolts to prevent missed tightening.
