In order to use the TOHNICHI QSPCA30N properly and safely, please read the instructions before operation. If there are any questions, please contact a Tohnichi authorized distributor or Tohnichi sales office. Keep this Operating Instruction for future use.

• Do not get oily or grease on the grip part. This makes a hand slipping to cause accidents or injuries.

• Make sure if there are any cracks, flaws or rusts. This generates breakage to cause accidents or injuries. Have an inspection or repair.

• Do not use it for a higher place working. Dropping a torque wrench or socket causes accidents or injuries.

• Do not use it with shortage of parts such as pins, scale plate or others. This causes accidents or injuries by breakage failure.

• Make sure if there is an obstacle around the loading direction. Pay attention not to hit your hands or elbows against surroundings when using a torque wrench.

• Do not use it with over the maximum torque value. This causes accidents or injuries by breakage failure.

• Do no not use an adapter to reduce the size of squire drive. The may result in over-stressing of the square drive which causes accidents or injuries by breakage failure.

• Do not make any alteration to the torque wrench. This makes torque strength deterioration or accuracy deviation to cause accidents or injuries.

• Do not drop or give a strong impact to the torque wrench. This makes breakage or change of shape to deteriorate accuracy or durability to cause accidents or injuries.

• Do not place a torque wrench in an upright position. Falling or dropping down the torque wrench causes accidents or injuries.

• Do not use any spare parts except for Tohnichi genuine parts. Contact the seller or Tohnichi and use the Tohnichi spare parts only when making a repair.

• Make sure if the set torque is correct before use. Make sure the proper torque unit.

• Confirm the torque unit before use.

• Distinguish the slip type torque wrench from ordinary click-type torque wrenches (Ex. QL). Click-type torque wrench may apply excessive torque if you keep applying force after the click sound. Be careful not to get confused when you switch from the slip type torque wrench to click-type torque wrenches.

• Do not use a torque wrench in the water or sea. This makes an internal structure defect to cause accidents or injuries. Have an inspection or repair if you drop the torque wrench in the water or sea.

• Make a preventive measure for dropping when working at a higher place. Dropping the torque wrench or socket causes serious accidents or injuries.

• Use an appropriate socket to fit the size of your hexagon bolt head. Using a different size of socket causes accidents or injuries.

1. Insert the Adjusting tool into an adjusting hole. (Note: Adjusting tool is sold separately.)

2. Set the torque value by the Adjusting tool with a torque wrench tester (DOTE, TCC models). Turn the Adjusting tool clockwise to increase torque value, and turn counterclockwise to decrease torque value.

※ Not need to lock after the torque set due to adopting the pre-lock mechanism.

1. Set the proper torque value. For “How to set the torque”, refer to the chapter 4. Make sure if the set torque value is correct before use when you purchased with specifying the required set torque.

2. Insert a socket into the square drive of the torque wrench.

3. Place the socket onto the bolt head or nut.

4. Turn the torque wrench clockwise for tightening.

5. Tightening is complete when you hear a click sound and feel slipping.

Accuracy ±4% (QSPCA12N ~ 70N), ±6% (QSPCA6N)

1) When the curled cable is connected to the loading circuit, follow the limit specifications of AC & DC 30V, below 1A.

2) Be careful not to damage or jolt the limit switch when in use. This may lead to a malfunction.

3) Do not cut or damage the curled cable. This may cause an electric shock and/or make the part inoperable.

4) Do not open the limit switch cover. It protects the parts from dirt and dust that may interfere with proper operation of the parts.

5) Do not disassemble or modify the plug, curled cable, or limit switch parts.

6) Do not pull the curled cable too hard or hang the torque wrench with the curled cable.

7) If you accidentally tighten twice or more in one tightening operation, completion signals will be output according to the number of actual tightening. To prevent this, please set the function of double-count prevention timer using the count checker (CNA-4mk3) or equivalent device.

8) The female plug is not a standard accessory. When ordering the female plug, request part number WA5219K.

• Have a periodical inspection for the torque wrench as a measurement tool.

• Keep it with taking out dirt, dust, mud, oil, moisture, etc. after use.

• If not, it causes improper operation and accuracy.

• Keep it at a dried place with applying the anti-rust oil when not using it for a long time.

• Improper stock keeping fastinates the deviation of accuracy and durability.

• Stop using the torque wrench when occurring abnormal actuation. Ask for an inspection or repair to the seller or Tohnichi.

• WA5219K: Female connector for Limit Switch.

• CNA-4mk3: Count checker is directly connected with the torque wrench with limit switch. It counts the number of tightened bolts which prevents missed tightening.

• LC20N3/LC200N3, LC20N3-G/LC200N3-G: For daily inspections.

• TCC2: Torque Calibrator and Controller TCC2-G.

• QSPCAFH30N, QSPCAFH70N: Wireless error-proofing (Pokayoke) torque system.

No modification allowed: QSPCALS → QSPCAFH, QSPCAMS → QSPCAFHS. The receiver R-FH256 can be used for QSPCAFHS. QSPCAFHS is available for use in Japan only.
