When using the TOHNICHI FTD5CN-S, please adhere to the following warnings to prevent accidents or injury:

1. Make sure there is no oil or grease on the grip. A slip of the hand while tightening may cause an accident or injury.

2. Check for cracks, scratches, and rust. These can cause damage to the driver and may result in an injury. If such conditions exist, have a functional test performed and repair if necessary.

To ensure safe operation and longevity of your TOHNICHI FTD5CN-S, please observe the following precautions:

• Do not use the torque driver beyond the maximum torque setting. This will cause damage or injury.

• Do not use the torque driver if it is missing a pin, scale plate, or any other parts. Ask a repair shop to inspect and repair it before using.

• Do not modify the torque driver. Modifications will weaken the driver and may cause errors in accuracy, as well as cause an accident or injury.

• Do not drop the torque driver or apply a strong shock or jolt. This can cause damage, deformation, and decrease accuracy and durability, which may lead to an accident or injury.

• Use only parts designated by Tohnichi for repair of the torque driver. For assistance with repairs, use only Tohnichi parts.

For proper use and storage, please follow these guidelines:

• Confirm that the driver is set to the correct unit of measure (e.g., kgf·cm, N·m) before using.

• Do not use the torque driver in fresh water or sea water. The internal mechanism will go bad and could cause an accident. If you drop it in water, get it checked out or repaired.

• Use the correct bit that fits the screw you are using.

• Remove any dirt such as dust, mud, oil, and water after each use and before storing the torque driver.

• When storing the TOHNICHI FTD5CN-S for a long time, set it at the minimum torque and keep it in a dry place. Improper storage will cause the accuracy and durability to decrease rapidly.

When you attach or detach a bit or a socket, always hold the shaft of the tool. If you hold the grip and pull strongly, the torque driver might be broken.

Follow these steps to operate the TOHNICHI FTD5CN-S torque driver:

1. Insert the bit into the bit holder at the tip of the torque driver.

2. Lightly press the scale plate and adjust it so that the main pointer is at the “0” position.

3. Move the memory pointer to the “0” position, opposite of the measuring direction.

4. You can now start the measuring or tightening operation.

Perform regular inspections for function and accuracy. Periodical inspections are essential to ensure the torque wrench is in optimal condition, thus preventing injury. If any damage like cracks, scratches, or rust is found, have a functional test and repair performed.
