In order to use the TOHNICHI QSPCALS30N torque driver properly and safely, please read the instructions before operation. Keep the operating instructions for future use.

• Do not get oily or grease on the grip part. This can make your hand slip, causing accidents or injuries.

• Before use, check for any cracks, flaws, or rusts. Breakage can cause accidents. Have the tool inspected or repaired if damage is found.

• Do not use the TOHNICHI QSPCALS30N for working in high places. Dropping the torque wrench or a socket can cause serious accidents or injuries.

• Do not use the tool if it is missing parts such as pins or the scale plate. This can cause accidents or injuries due to breakage failure.

• Make sure there are no obstacles in the loading direction. Pay attention not to hit your hands or elbows against surroundings when using the torque wrench.

• Do not use it with a torque value over the maximum setting. This can cause breakage failure, leading to accidents or injuries.

• Do not use an adapter to reduce the size of the square drive. This may result in over-stressing the square drive, which can cause accidents or injuries.

• Do not make any alterations to the torque wrench. This can cause torque strength deterioration or accuracy deviation.

• Do not drop or give a strong impact to the torque wrench, as this can cause breakage or shape changes that deteriorate accuracy and durability.

• Do not place the torque wrench in an upright position where it could fall or be knocked over.

• Only use Tohnichi genuine parts for repairs.

1. Insert the optional adjusting tool (sold separately) into the adjusting hole at the end of the handle.

2. With the torque wrench connected to a torque wrench tester (e.g., DOTE, TCC models), turn the adjusting tool to set the torque value. Turn the tool clockwise to increase the torque value, and turn it counterclockwise to decrease the torque value.

Note: It is not necessary to lock the setting after adjustment, as the TOHNICHI QSPCALS30N uses a pre-lock mechanism.

1. Set the proper torque value as described in the “How to set the torque” procedure. If you purchased the wrench with a specified torque, confirm the set value is correct.

2. Insert an appropriate socket into the square drive of the torque wrench.

3. Place the socket onto the bolt head or nut.

4. Turn the torque wrench clockwise for tightening.

5. Tightening is complete when you hear a “click” sound and feel the mechanism slip (disengage).

The TOHNICHI QSPCALS30N is a slip-type wrench. Once the set torque is reached, the mechanism slips, preventing over-torque even if you continue to apply force.

An ordinary click-type torque wrench will produce a “click” sound but may apply excessive torque if you continue to apply force after the click. Be careful not to get confused when switching between slip-type and click-type wrenches.

1. When the curled cable is connected to a loading circuit, follow the limit specifications of AC & DC 30V, below 1A.

2. Be careful not to damage or jolt the limit switch during use, as this may lead to a malfunction.

3. Do not cut or damage the curled cable. This may cause an electric shock and/or make the part inoperable.

4. Do not open the limit switch cover. It protects the internal parts from dirt and dust.

5. Do not disassemble or modify the plug, curled cable, or limit switch parts.

6. Do not pull the curled cable too hard or hang the torque wrench with the curled cable.

7. If you accidentally tighten a fastener twice or more in one operation, completion signals will be output for each tightening. To prevent this, use a count checker (like the CNA-4mk3) with a double-count prevention timer.

8. The female plug (part number WA5219K) is not a standard accessory and must be ordered separately.

• The torque wrench is a measurement tool; have a periodical inspection performed.

• After use, clean off any dirt, dust, mud, oil, moisture, etc.

• Storing the tool while dirty can cause improper operation and reduce accuracy.

• For long-term storage, apply anti-rust oil and keep it in a dry place. Improper storage can accelerate the deviation of accuracy and durability.

• If you notice any abnormal actuation, stop using the torque wrench immediately and ask for an inspection or repair from your seller or Tohnichi.

The optional adjusting tool required depends on the specific model. For the TOHNICHI QSPCALS30N, you need catalog number 930.

No, modification of a QSPCALS model (like the QSPCALS30N) to a wireless QSPCAFH model is not allowed.

• WA5219K: A female connector for the Limit Switch on LS models.
