Air inlet and outlet of indoor or outdoor units have been blocked. Clear the obstacles and keep the area for indoor and outdoor units well ventilated.
Improper temperature setting. Reset to a proper temperature.
Fan speed is too low. Reset to a proper fan speed.
Air flow direction is not right. Change the direction of air louvers.
Doors or windows are open. Close them.
Exposed under direct sunshine. Put on curtains or louvers in front of the windows.
Too many heat sources in the room. Remove unnecessary heat sources.
Filter is blocked or dirty. Send for a professional to clean the filter.
Air inlets or outlets of the units are blocked. Clear away obstacles that are blocking the air inlets and outlets of indoor and outdoor units.

Are these situations with my TCL TCD125D1HWH-DV considered failures?

The following situations are not operation failures and are part of the normal function of your air conditioner:
Phenomenon Time of occurrence Cause
Mist comes from the air conditioner. During operation. If the unit is running under high humidity, the wet air in the room will be quickly cooled down.
Water full protection During operation. When in cooling mode, if the water level is too high, the machine will shut down for protection. The water pump continues to draw water. After the water level drops, the machine returns to normal. This protection frequency is less than or equal to 3 times.
System switches to heating mode after defrosting. Post-defrosting. Defrosting process will generate some water, which will turn to water vapor.
The air conditioner is buzzing at the beginning of operation. Start of operation. The temperature controller will buzz when it starts. The noise will become weak after about 1 minute.
When the unit is turned on, it purrs. When system is just started. The refrigerant is not stable. After about 30 seconds, the purr of the unit becomes low.
Refrigerant brushing sound. About 20s after enabling heating mode or during defrost. This is the sound of the 4-way valve switching direction. It will disappear after the valve changes direction.
Hissing sound. When the unit is started, stopped, or during/after operation. This is the sound of gaseous refrigerant that stops flowing and the sound of the drainage system.
Crunching sound. During and after operation. Due to temperature change, the front panel and other components may swell, causing an abrasion sound.
Hissing sound. When turned on or suddenly stopped during operation or after defrosting. This is caused by refrigerant suddenly stopping or changing its flow direction.
Dust comes from the unit. When starting after being unused for a long time. Dust inside the indoor unit comes out with the air.
The air conditioner generates some smell. During operation. The room smell or the smell of cigarettes comes out through the indoor unit.
