What precautions should be taken during installation?
• This unit is designed for negative ground (earth) 12 V DC operation only.
• Do not get the leads caught under a screw, or pinched in moving parts (e.g., seat railing).
• Before making connections, turn the car ignition off to avoid short circuits.
• Connect the yellow and red power supply leads only after all other leads have been connected.
• Run all ground (earth) leads to a common ground (earth) point.
• Be sure to insulate any loose unconnected leads with electrical tape for safety.
• For safety, be sure to use the supplied mounting hardware.
• When installing, be sure to fix the unit securely. If the unit is not fixed securely, it may cause a malfunction (e.g., the sound may skip).
What are the specific instructions for connecting speaker leads?
• Before connecting the speakers, turn the unit off.
• Use speakers with an impedance of 4 to 8 ohms, and with adequate power handling capacities to avoid damage.
• Do not connect speaker terminals to the car chassis, or connect the terminals of the right speakers with those of the left speaker.
• Do not ground (earth) the speaker leads to the car chassis, or connect the negative terminal of one speaker to the positive terminal of another speaker.
• Do not attempt to connect the speakers in parallel.
• Connect only passive speakers. Connecting active speakers (with built-in amplifiers) to the speaker terminals may damage the unit.
• To avoid a malfunction, do not use the built-in speaker leads when you use an external power amplifier.
• When your car has a built-in Fader, do not connect it.
What is included in the parts list?
① Bracket (1)
② Protection collar (1)
③ Release keys (2)
④ Power supply cord (1)
What are the notes on connecting the power supply cord?
• Before connecting, check the wiring in your car carefully to avoid a short circuit. The connection differs according to the type of vehicle.
• Note on the control and power supply leads: The power aerial (antenna) control lead (blue) supplies +12 V DC when you turn on the tuner. When your car has a built-in FM/AM aerial (antenna) in the rear/side glass, connect the power aerial (antenna) control lead (blue) or the accessory power supply lead (red) to the power terminal of the existing aerial (antenna) booster. For details, consult your dealer. A power aerial (antenna) without a relay box cannot be used with this unit.
• Memory hold-on connection: When the yellow power supply lead is connected, power will always be supplied to the memory circuit even when the ignition switch is turned off.
How do I connect the power supply leads?
Note ① To the car’s speaker connector
If your car has ISO standard connectors, use the supplied power supply cord ④ to make the connection.
Note ② To the car’s power connector
First connect the black ground (earth) lead, then connect the yellow and red power supply leads. If the pin positions of the connector on the car do not match the supplied power supply cord, change the positions of the yellow and red leads of the supplied power supply cord.

Note ⑤ To an optional power amplifier
• Make the connections as illustrated.
• Before connecting, disconnect the ground (earth) terminal of the car battery to avoid short circuits.
• Connect the ground (earth) lead securely to a metal point of the car.
• The REM OUT lead is for controlling the power amplifier. This connection is only for amplifiers. Connecting any other system may damage the unit.
• If a power amplifier is not connected, keep the REM OUT lead unconnected and insulate it.
• Be sure to install a fuse in the power supply lead connected to the battery. Install it as close to the battery’s positive terminal as possible.
• Use a power supply lead with a fuse attached (not supplied) that is thick enough to handle the total current of this unit and the power amplifier.
• All power amplifiers to be connected must be earthed to a common ground point.
