To ensure reliable performance and safety, please observe the following matters during installation:

Installation Environment:

Please do not use this product in the following places: dusty areas, places with soot and electric conductivity dust, corrosive or combustible gas, locations exposed to high temperature, condensation, wind, and rain, or places with vibration and impact. Failure to do so can lead to electric shock, fire, or damage to the product.

During Installation:

In processing screw holes and wiring, make sure that metal scraps and wire heads do not fall into the controller’s shaft, as this could cause a fire, fault, or incorrect operation.

After installation, ensure there is nothing on the ventilated face, including packaging items like dust and paper. Otherwise, this may cause a fire, fault, or incorrect operation due to improper cooling.

Avoid wiring and inserting cable plugs while the device is powered on, as it is easy to cause shock or electrical damage.

The installation and wiring should be strong and reliable; undesirable contact may lead to false action.

In applications with interference, use shielded cable for the high-frequency signal input or output to improve the noise suppression ability of the system.

Please adhere to the following wiring guidelines:

Only after cutting down all external power sources can you begin installation and wiring operations; otherwise, it may cause electric shock or equipment damage.

This product grounds by the grounding wires. To avoid electric shocks, grounding wires and the earth must be linked together. Before connecting the input or output terminal, please make sure this product is correctly grounded.

Immediately remove all other items after the wiring installation. Please cover the terminals of the products before electrification to avoid causing an electric shock.

Please follow these precautions during operation and maintenance:

Do not touch terminals when the device is powered on, as it may cause a shock or incorrect operation.

Perform cleaning and terminal tightening work only after turning off the power supply. These operations can lead to electric shock in a powered state.

Connect or dismantle the communication signal cable, expansion module cable, or control unit cable only after turning off the power supply, or it may cause damage to the equipment or incorrect operation.

Do not dismantle the equipment to avoid damaging internal electrical components.

Be sure to read the manual and fully confirm safety before making program changes, commissioning, or starting and stopping operations.

When discarding the product, be aware of electrolytic explosion risks: the burning of electrolytic capacitors on circuit boards may lead to an explosion.

The SMART-E 444K-777 transmitter has the following connections and indicators:

1. HDMI IN: HDMI input.

2. MODE dial: Mode selection dial (Test: test image mode; Def: custom mode, using internal EDID, supporting 4K@60 4:4:4 input; Pass: direct mode, using the receiving end EDID).

3. SWITCH button: In Test mode, short press to switch different test images; long press for 3 seconds to switch different resolutions, and release the button to output.

4. PWR: Power LED indicator.

5. LINK: RJ45 link LED indicator.

6. VIDEO: Video input LED indicator.

7. RS-232: 5-pin phoenix connector for 1x RS232 control and 1x RS232 bidirectional transmission.

8. IR IN: 3.5mm infrared input.

9. IR OUT: 3.5mm infrared output.

10. HDMI OUT: HDMI loop-out.

11. AUDIO OUT: 3.5mm audio de-embedding output.

12. HDBaseT: RJ45 twisted pair port (supports 1080P up to 70m; 4K60Hz up to 40m for the 777 model).

13. DC 12-48V: Power port.

The SMART-E 444K-777 receiver has the following connections and indicators:

1. PWR: Power LED indicator.

2. LINK: RJ45 link LED indicator.

3. VIDEO: Video input LED indicator.

4. RS-232: 5-pin phoenix connector for 1x RS232 control and 1x RS232 bidirectional transmission.

5. IR IN: 3.5mm infrared input.

6. IR OUT: 3.5mm infrared output.

7. HDMI OUT: HDMI output.

8. AUDIO OUT: 3.5mm audio de-embedding output.

9. HDBaseT: RJ45 twisted pair port (supports 1080P up to 70m; 4K60Hz up to 40m for the 777 model).

10. DC 12-48V: Power port.

The SMART-E 444K-777 has the following features:

• Transmits HDMI video, audio, and control signals through a shielded CATX cable. The 444K-777 accommodates 1080P transmission up to 70m and 4K60Hz up to 40m.

• The transmitter (TX777) complies with HDMI 2.0b, with data rates up to 18 Gbps and 3D images. The receiver (RX777) complies with HDMI 1.4b, with data rates up to 10.2 Gbps and 3D images.

• The transmitter is compatible with HDCP 2.2/2.3 and earlier. The receiver is compatible with HDCP 1.4.

• The transmitter has an internal signal generator, which can output various resolutions and test images in Test mode.

• In Def mode, the transmitter supports a maximum 4K/60 @4:4:4 input, while the receiver supports a maximum 4K/30 @4:4:4 transmission.

• The transmitter has a scaler function. In Test mode, a 4K test image can be set to 1080P output. In Def mode, a 4K@60 4:4:4 input is automatically converted to 4K@60 4:2:0.

• In Pass mode, the transmitter can output images synchronized with the signal source.

• Provides de-embedding of HDMI audio for the 3.5mm audio port output.

• Audio output frequency is 32KHz-192KHz. It supports all compressed and uncompressed audio formats, such as 2.0/2.1/5.1/7.1 channel LPCM, Dolby, AC3, DTS, etc.

• Through the RS232 interface, the transmitter allows version query, work mode setting, resolution setting, EDID management, firmware update, and factory reset. The receiver allows version query, EDID management, firmware update, and factory reset.

• Bidirectional RS232 control and IR signals can be transmitted together with video signals.

• Compatible with shielded CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6a.

• Power can be provided by the transmitter or receiver (POC).

• Has LED indicators for video input, power, and link status for real-time feedback.

• Features a small case for discreet installation.

• A wide voltage power supply permits the use of a DC 12V to 48V power adapter.

The SMART-E 444K-777 video extender has three application modes: Test, Def, and Pass. You can select a mode using the MODE dial on the transmitter (444K-TX777). After selecting a mode, the extender needs to be restarted for the change to take effect.

To use Test mode:

1. Turn the MODE dial on the transmitter to “Test”.

2. The transmitter will make 13 test images available for output.

3. Use the SWITCH button on the transmitter to cycle through the test images and resolutions.

– Short press the SWITCH button to switch between different test images.

– Long press the SWITCH button for 3 seconds, then release it, to switch between different resolutions.

To use Def mode, turn the MODE dial on the transmitter to “Def”. In this mode, the extender uses its internal EDID. The transmitter supports a 4K@60 4:4:4 input, which is automatically converted to 4K@60 4:2:0 for transmission.

To use Pass mode, turn the MODE dial on the transmitter to “Pass”. This mode uses the EDID of the receiving end (the display), and the signal passes through directly without alteration.

The classic use of the SMART-E 444K-777 is as a point-to-point HDMI extender. Follow these steps for setup:

1. Connect Video Source: Connect your HDMI video source (e.g., a PC) to the HDMI IN port on the transmitter (444K-TX777).

2. (Optional) Local Monitor: If you have a local monitor, connect it to the HDMI OUT (loop-through) port on the transmitter.

3. (Optional) Control Signals: Connect your RS232 and bi-directional infrared control devices to the respective ports on the transmitter.

4. Connect Transmitter to Receiver: Connect a single shielded Cat6/6A STP cable from the HDBaseT port on the transmitter to the HDBaseT port on the receiver (444K-RX777).

5. Connect Display: At the remote end, connect the HDMI OUT port of the receiver to your display (monitor, TV, projector).

6. (Optional) Remote Audio: The receiver provides a de-embedded analogue audio output. Connect this to external speakers if needed.

7. Power: Connect the DC 12-48V power supply to either the transmitter or the receiver. The Power over Cable (POC) feature will power the other unit. This allows flexibility depending on power outlet availability at either location.

The SMART-E 444K-777 extenders are compatible with the Smart-e range of LDX/MDXE and VDX matrices for system solutions.

1. Connect Sources: Connect HDMI sources to the HDMI IN ports of multiple 444K-TX777 transmitters.

2. Connect Transmitters to Matrix: Run Cat6/6A cables from the HDBaseT output of each transmitter to the HDBaseT input ports (on a compatible blade) of the central matrix.

3. Connect Matrix to Receivers: Run Cat6/6A cables from the HDBaseT output ports of the matrix to the HDBaseT input ports of multiple 444K-RX777 receivers located at each display.

4. Connect Displays: Connect the HDMI OUT port of each receiver to its respective display.

This application allows high-resolution video from multiple sources to be distributed to various displays over a standard Cat6/6A cable infrastructure, which is ideal for corporate buildings, luxury yachts, or residential homes.
