What important information should I know before using the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR?
Before using your OMLET SMART OUTDOOR, please read the following important information:
• The Autodoor is designed solely as an automated way to open and close access to a chicken coop. It is not a device that will care for your chickens. You must still perform all routine daily checks for their health and safety.
• Ensure your chickens have access to food and water daily.
• Follow all assembly instructions to ensure the product works as intended.
• Keep the product free from dirt and obstructions to ensure the crush detector operates correctly.
• The Autodoor is for use with adult chickens. Disable the product if chickens are under 15 weeks of age.
• Do not rely solely on this product to care for your chickens.
• Keep your fingers away from the moving door.
• Stow excess cable to avoid tripping or accidental pulling.
• The control panel must be completely assembled before turning the power on.
• Do not disassemble the control panel when it is wet.
• Ensure the product is securely attached before operating it.
• Children must be supervised when using the Autodoor; it is not a toy.
• Any use beyond what is specified is considered improper. Omlet is not liable for any damage resulting from such use. The user alone bears the risk.
What tools do I need to assemble the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR, and are there any I should avoid?
For assembly, you will need a screwdriver, wire cutters, and 4 x AA 1.5V batteries. It is important that you do not use a Power Drill to tighten screws.
How should I position the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR for the safety sensor to work correctly?
The safety sensor bar, which detects if an object is blocking the door, will only work properly if the door is installed correctly. The opening of the coop must not be smaller than the opening of the Autodoor. To ensure correct operation, you must move the Autodoor so that the coop’s opening is set back from the edge of the safety bar by at least 0.2 inches (5 mm). When viewed from the other side, the opening of the coop should not obstruct the safety bar in any way.
How do I power the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR control panel?
You can power your OMLET SMART OUTDOOR Control Panel using either 4 x AA batteries or the Omlet Power Adaptor (available separately). The power supply is required to enable responsive mode when connected to Wi-Fi. It is important that you do not use both options simultaneously.
If using batteries, check them every 3 months and always use 4 batteries of the same brand and energy level.
How do I correctly close the control panel of the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR to avoid damaging the cable?
When closing the control panel after installing batteries or connecting the power supply, ensure the cable is routed neatly within the housing. The cable should not be pinched or trapped between the front and back parts of the control panel when you screw it together. An incorrectly placed cable can be damaged and may cause the unit to malfunction.
Where should I mount the control panel for the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR?
Mount the Control Panel in a location where the Light Sensor can receive natural light throughout the day. Do not put the Control Panel under cover. Be aware that weather conditions, orientation, seasonal light levels, and artificial lights can significantly affect the light sensor’s performance.
What are the functions of the buttons on the OMLET SMART OUTDOOR control panel?
