What are the safety warnings for installing the KEF CI130QS?

Installation should be performed by an installer who is skilled in the proper use of hand and power tools, has knowledge of local building and fire codes, and is familiar with the environment behind the wall or ceiling where the speaker is being installed. Do not attempt to install the KEF CI130QS unless you are sure you will not be cutting through electric cables, water or gas pipes, or supporting joists. Ensure the loading on the wall or ceiling will support the weight of the speaker assembly.


What types of installations is the KEF CI130QS designed for?

The KEF CI130QS custom installation loudspeaker is designed for dry-lined, stud partition walls and ceilings, as well as for suspended ceilings.


How do I install the KEF CI130QS speaker?

Step 1. Carefully cut the appropriately sized hole in the ceiling or wall surface.

Step 2. Connect the speaker cables to the terminals on the back of the KEF CI130QS, ensuring correct polarity.

Step 3. Insert the speaker assembly into the cutout. Push the mounting clamps outwards so they are positioned to grip the installation surface.

Step 4. Tighten the screws on the front of the speaker baffle. This will cause the mounting clamps to secure the speaker firmly in place. Do not over-tighten.

Step 5. Attach the magnetic grille to the front of the speaker.


How can I paint the grille of the KEF CI130QS?

Step 1. Carefully remove the magnetic grille from the speaker.

Step 2. Remove the protective acoustic cloth from the inside of the grille.

Step 3. Apply a thin layer of spray paint in your desired color to the front of the grille.

Step 4. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Step 5. Reattach the acoustic cloth to the inside of the grille.

Step 6. Reattach the newly painted grille to your KEF CI130QS speaker.
