What are the safety devices on the KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM and how do they work?
The KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM has several safety devices for your protection. You should never modify or bypass these safety devices.
Pressure controller: This keeps the pressure in the steam boiler as constant as possible during operation. The heating switches off when the maximum operating pressure is reached and activates again if there is a pressure drop from steam removal.
Safety thermostat: This prevents the device from overheating. If the pressure regulator and boiler thermostat fail and the unit overheats, the safety thermostat switches the unit off. For resetting, contact the responsible KÄRCHER Customer Service.
Boiler thermostat: This switches off the heating in the event of a fault, for example, if there is no water in the steam boiler and the temperature rises. The device is ready for use again as soon as you refill the water.
Maintenance lock: This seals the steam boiler from the steam pressure. It is also a pressure relief valve. If the pressure regulator is defective and the steam pressure rises, the valve opens and steam escapes through the lock. Prior to restarting, contact the responsible KÄRCHER Customer Service.

What are the general guidelines for cleaning various surfaces with the KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM?
Cleaning the floor areas: We recommend sweeping the floor or vacuum cleaning it before using the appliance. This will clear the floor of dirt and loose particles before the wet cleaning.
Freshening up textiles: Prior to use, always check the compatibility of textiles at a concealed point. Steam down the textile, allow it to dry, and then check it for any change in colour or shape.
Cleaning coated or painted surfaces: ATTENTION: Damaged surfaces. Steam can loosen wax, furniture polish, plastic coatings, paint, and edge bands from edges. Do not direct the steam at glued laminated edges as the edge band may loosen. Do not use the appliance for cleaning unsealed wood or parquet floors. For painted or plastic coated surfaces like kitchen furniture, doors or parquet, steam a cloth briefly and use it to wipe over the surfaces.
Glass cleaner: ATTENTION: Glass breakages and damaged surfaces. Steam can damage sealed points of the window frame and, at low outside temperatures, lead to tension on window panes, causing glass breakages. Do not direct steam at sealed points on the window frame. At low outside temperatures, heat up window panes by gently steaming the full surface of the glass. Clean the window area with a manual nozzle and cover. Use a squeegee or wipe the surfaces dry to remove water.
How do I use the various accessories with the KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM?
Steam gun: Can be used without accessories for:
● Removing slight creases from hanging clothing: Steam the item from a distance of 10-20 cm.
● Wiping damp dust: Briefly steam a cloth and use it to wipe over furniture.
Spotlight nozzle: Suitable for cleaning hard-to-access areas, joints, fittings, drains, sinks, WCs, blinds, or radiators. The closer the nozzle is to the soiled area, the greater the cleaning efficiency. Slide it onto the steam gun.

What should I do if the water shortage indicator light on my KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM flashes red and a signal sounds?
This indicates there is no water in the tank.
● Fill the water reservoir up to the “MAX” marking.
What does it mean if the water shortage indicator light on my KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM is lit red?
This means there is no water in the steam boiler and the pump’s overheat protection has triggered, or the water tank is not inserted correctly or is calcified.
For no water in the boiler:
Step 1. Switch the device off.
Step 2. Fill the water reservoir.
Step 3. Switch on the device.
If the water tank is not inserted correctly:
Step 1. Remove the water reservoir.
Step 2. Rinse the water reservoir.

Why can’t I press the steam lever on my KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM?
The steam lever is locked with the child lock.
● Set the child lock (selector switch for steam volume) to the front. The steam lever is now released.
Why is my KARCHER SC 5 EASYFIX PREMIUM experiencing a long heating-up time or high water output?
The steam boiler is likely scaled (has lime buildup). You need to descale the steam boiler.
If you are experiencing high water output, also check if the VapoHydro steam stage is set. If so, turn the selector switch to the steam setting selection range.
Why does the steam pressure iron “spit” water or release water droplets after breaks?
If the iron “spits” water, the steam boiler of the steam cleaner needs to be rinsed or descaled.
If water droplets come out after ironing breaks, it is because steam can condense in the steam line during longer breaks.
● After pauses in the ironing process, direct the blast of steam onto a cloth until the steam flows evenly.
