CAUTION: Floorstanding loudspeakers have a high center of gravity and may become unstable and tip over during earthquakes or if they are rocked, tipped, or improperly positioned. Consider anchoring these speakers to the wall behind them using procedures and hardware customary for bookcases and wall units. You are responsible for proper selection and installation of hardware.

When installing screws, do not over-tighten.

When wall-mounting, avoid in-wall electrical lines and seek professional guidance if you are unclear on how to proceed safely.

Ensure that all electrical components are turned OFF and unplugged from electrical outlets before connecting other components.

The JBL STAGE 2 245C comes with self-adhesive feet. To install them, peel the backing off each foot and press them firmly onto the designated spots on the bottom of the speaker cabinet, typically near each corner.

The main front left and right speakers should be positioned so that they form a 40° to 60° angle with the primary listening position, creating an equilateral triangle between the two speakers and the listener for optimal stereo imaging.

For a 5.1 system, follow these placement guidelines:

Center (C): Place the JBL STAGE 2 245C directly in front of the listening position at 0°, usually above or below your display.

Front Left (L) and Right (R): Position these speakers at a 20° to 30° angle on either side of the center channel, relative to the listening position.

Left Surround (LS) and Right Surround (RS): Place these speakers at a 110° to 120° angle relative to the listening position, to the sides and slightly behind the listener.

Surround Speaker Height: The surround speakers should be positioned approximately 5-6 ft (1.5 m – 1.8 m) from the floor.

For a 7.1 system, build upon the 5.1 setup with the following additions:

Center (C), Front Left (L), and Front Right (R): Placement is the same as in a 5.1 setup, with the JBL STAGE 2 245C at the 0° center position.

Side Surround Left (LSS) and Right (RSS): Place these speakers directly to the sides of the listening position, at a 90° to 110° angle.

Rear Surround Left (LRS) and Right (RRS): Place these speakers behind the listener at a 135° to 150° angle.

Side Surround Speaker Height: The side surround speakers should be positioned approximately 5-6 ft (1.5 m – 1.8 m) from the floor.

The binding posts on the JBL STAGE 2 245C accept three types of connections:

Bare Wire:

1. Unscrew the terminal cap.

2. Insert the stripped end of the speaker wire through the hole in the metal post.

3. Tighten the cap securely over the wire.

Spade Lugs:

1. Unscrew the terminal cap.

2. Place the spade lug around the metal post.

3. Tighten the cap to clamp the lug in place.

Banana Plugs:

1. Ensure the terminal cap is fully tightened.

2. Insert the banana plug directly into the opening at the end of the terminal cap.
