CAUTION: The JBL STAGE 2 260F floorstanding loudspeaker has a high center of gravity and may become unstable and tip over during earthquakes or if it is rocked, tipped, or improperly positioned. Consider anchoring this speaker to the wall behind it using procedures and hardware customary for bookcases and wall units. You are responsible for the proper selection and installation of hardware. When installing screws, do not over-tighten.

When wall-mounting, avoid in-wall electrical lines and seek professional guidance if you are unclear on how to proceed safely.

Ensure that all electrical components are turned OFF and unplugged from electrical outlets before connecting other components.

To assemble the feet for the JBL STAGE 2 260F, carefully lay the speaker on its side or top on a soft, non-abrasive surface. Align the four outrigger feet with the screw holes on the bottom of the speaker cabinet. Use the provided screws to attach the feet, ensuring they are secure.

To set up a Dolby ATMOS® enabled module, place the module on the top surface of the JBL STAGE 2 260F speaker. The module is designed to fit securely on top. Connect the speaker wires from your receiver’s “Height” or “Atmos” channel outputs to the terminals on the back of the ATMOS® module.

For a 2.0 stereo layout, place the left (L) and right (R) JBL STAGE 2 260F speakers so that they form an equilateral triangle with the main listening position. The angle between the speakers from the listening position should be between 40 and 60 degrees. For a 2.1 layout, follow the same placement for the L and R speakers and add a subwoofer (Sub) to the system. The subwoofer’s placement can vary, but it is often placed along the front wall.

For a 5.1 surround sound layout:

Front Speakers (L/R): Place your JBL STAGE 2 260F as the left (L) and right (R) speakers. The angle from the listening position to each speaker should be 20 to 30 degrees off-center.

Center Speaker (C): Place the center channel speaker directly in front of the listening position, typically above or below the display screen.

Surround Speakers (LS/RS): Place the left surround (LS) and right surround (RS) speakers to the sides and slightly behind the listening position. The angle from the listening position should be between 110 and 120 degrees. The recommended height for surround speakers is 5 to 6 feet (1.5 m to 1.8 m).

Subwoofer (Sub): Place the subwoofer in a suitable location, often along the front wall.

For a 7.1 surround sound layout:

Front Speakers (L/R): Place your JBL STAGE 2 260F as the left (L) and right (R) speakers. The angle from the listening position to each speaker should be 20 to 30 degrees off-center.

Center Speaker (C): Place the center channel speaker directly in front of the listening position.

Side Surround Speakers (LSS/RSS): Place the left side surround (LSS) and right side surround (RSS) speakers directly to the sides of the listening position. The angle from the listening position should be between 90 and 110 degrees. The recommended height is 5 to 6 feet (1.5 m to 1.8 m).

Rear Surround Speakers (LSR/RSR): Place the left rear surround (LSR) and right rear surround (RSR) speakers behind the listening position at an angle between 135 and 150 degrees.

Subwoofer (Sub): Place the subwoofer in a suitable location in the room.

There are three common methods for connecting speaker wires to the binding posts on the JBL STAGE 2 260F:

A. Bare Wire:

1. Unscrew the binding post cap.

2. Insert the bare end of the speaker wire through the hole in the post.

3. Tighten the cap to secure the wire.

B. Spade Connectors:

1. Unscrew the binding post cap.

2. Place the spade connector around the metal post.

3. Tighten the cap to secure the connector.

C. Banana Plugs:

1. Ensure the binding post cap is fully tightened.

2. (If present, remove the plastic plug from the end of the binding post cap).

3. Insert the banana plug directly into the back of the binding post.

Standard Wiring:

Connect the speaker wire from your amplifier’s or receiver’s FRONT speaker outputs to the lower set of binding posts on the back of the JBL STAGE 2 260F, labeled “FRONT”. Ensure the positive (+) terminal on the amplifier is connected to the positive (+) terminal on the speaker, and the negative (-) to the negative (-). The metal jumpers should remain in place, connecting the FRONT and HEIGHT terminals.

Wiring with a Dolby Atmos Module:

1. First, remove the metal jumpers that connect the “FRONT” and “HEIGHT” binding posts on the back of the speaker.

2. Connect speaker wire from your amplifier’s or receiver’s FRONT speaker outputs to the lower set of binding posts labeled “FRONT”.

3. Connect a separate speaker wire from your receiver’s ATMOS or HEIGHT speaker outputs to the upper set of binding posts labeled “HEIGHT”.

4. Always ensure correct polarity (+ to + and – to -) for all connections.
