Work area safety:

• Keep work area clean and well lit.

• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres.

• Keep children and bystanders away while operating.

Electrical safety:

• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug.

• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.

• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.

• Do not abuse the cord. Keep it away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

• When operating outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.

• If operating in a damp location, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply.

Personal safety:

• Stay alert and use common sense. Do not use while tired or under the influence.

• Use personal protective equipment, including eye protection.

• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position before connecting to power.

• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance.

• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.

• If provided, connect and use dust extraction facilities properly.

• Do not let familiarity from frequent use lead to complacency.

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application.

• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.

• Disconnect the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing.

• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children.

• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment, breakage, or any other condition that may affect operation.

• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

• Use the power tool and accessories according to these instructions, considering the working conditions and the work to be performed.

• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

• Keep all parts of the body away from the blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Blades continue to move after the switch is turned off.

• Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the blade stopped and be careful not to operate any power switch.

• When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer, always fit the blade cover.

• When clearing jammed material or servicing the unit, make sure all power switches are off and the battery pack is removed or disconnected.

• Hold the hedge trimmer by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the blade may contact hidden wiring.

• Keep all power cords and cables away from the cutting area.

• Do not use the hedge trimmer in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning.

Always use approved personal protective equipment when you use the product. Personal protective equipment cannot fully prevent injury but it decreases the degree of injury if an accident does occur.

• Use a protective helmet where there is a risk of falling objects.

• Use hearing protectors for long-term use, as long-term exposure to noise can result in damaged hearing.

• Use approved eye protection. If you use a visor, you must also use approved protective goggles complying with ANSI Z87.1 (USA) or EN 166 (EU).

• Use gloves when necessary, for example when you attach, examine or clean the cutting equipment.

• Use sturdy non-slip boots or shoes.

• Use clothing made of a strong fabric. Always use heavy, long pants and long sleeves. Do not use loose clothing. Do not wear jewelry, short pants, or sandals, or go with bare feet. Put your hair up safely above shoulder level.

• Keep first aid equipment close at hand.

To check the user interface:

1. Push and hold the start/stop button (A).

a) The product is on when the LED (B) is on.

b) The product is off when the LED (B) is out.

2. If the warning indicator (C) comes on or flashes, refer to the maintenance section.

To check the power trigger and power trigger lockout:

1. Start the product.

2. Push the power trigger lockout up.

3. Push the power trigger up and apply full power.

4. Release the power trigger and make sure the return spring operates correctly. The blade must stop in less than 1 second.

5. Stop the product.

6. Do steps 1 and 2 again.

7. Release the power trigger lockout and make sure its return spring operates correctly. The blade must stop in less than 1 second.

To check the hand guard:

1. Stop the product.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Check that the hand guard is attached correctly.

4. Examine the hand guard for damages.

To check the blades and blade guards:

1. Stop the product.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Put on protective gloves.

4. Make sure that the blades (A) and blade guard (B) are not damaged or twisted. Replace them if they are damaged or bent.

Battery Safety:

• Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack.

• Do not expose the battery to fire or temperatures above 130°C (265°F).

• Only use the BLi100 battery for related Husqvarna products.

• Do not connect battery terminals to metal objects to avoid short circuits.

• Keep the battery away from sunlight, heat, rain, and wet conditions.

• Do not try to disassemble or break the battery.

• If the battery leaks, avoid contact with the liquid. If contact occurs, flush with water and seek medical aid.

• Use the battery in temperatures between -10°C (14°F) and 40°C (114°F).

• Do not clean the battery with water.

Battery Charger Safety:

• Use an approved grounded mains socket that is not damaged.

• Only use Husqvarna QC chargers for replacement BLi batteries.

• Do not lift the charger by the power cord. Pull the plug to disconnect.

• Keep cables away from water, oil, and sharp edges.

• Do not use the charger near flammable materials. Ensure it is not covered.

• Only charge the battery indoors in a location with good airflow and away from sunlight.

• Only use the charger where the temperature is between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C (104°F).

To connect the battery charger:

1. Connect the battery charger to the voltage and frequency specified on the rating plate.

2. Put the plug in a grounded socket outlet. The LED on the battery charger flashes green one time.

To install the battery:

1. Fully charge the battery.

2. Put the battery into the battery holder of the product.

a) Make sure that the battery is installed correctly. If it cannot move easily, the installation is not correct.

b) Make sure that the battery locks into position. When you hear a click, the battery locks.

To do before you start the product:

1. Examine the work area and remove objects that can be thrown out.

2. Examine the cutting attachment for sharpness, cracks, and damages.

3. Make sure the product works correctly and all nuts and screws are tight.

4. Ensure the handle and safety devices are not damaged and are attached correctly.

5. Make sure the covers are not damaged and are attached correctly.

To start the product:

1. Push and hold the start/stop button until the green LED comes on.

2. Push and hold the power trigger lockout on the front handle.

3. To apply full speed, push the power trigger fully.

To operate the product:

1. Start near the ground and move the product up along the hedge when you cut the sides.

2. Adjust the speed to align with the work load.

3. Hold the product near your body for a stable work position.

4. Make sure that the tip of the cutting equipment does not touch the ground.

5. Be careful and work slowly until all the branches are correctly cut.

To stop the product:

1. Release the power trigger or the power trigger lockout.

2. Push the start/stop button until the green LED goes out.

3. Push the release buttons on the battery and pull the battery out.

To select the cutting speed:

The product has a mode button with 3 speed levels. A lower level increases the operation time.

1. Push the mode button to set a limit to the maximum speed. The white LEDs will come on to show the function is on.

2. Press the Mode button again to choose the next speed level.

To adjust the angle of the rear handle:

For the best operation position, the rear handle can be adjusted in 5 different positions. Ensure the bottom of the rear handle points down during operation.

1. Release the handle lock and turn the handle.

To examine the battery and the battery charger:

1. Examine the battery for damages, for example cracks.

2. Examine the battery charger for damages, for example cracks.

3. Make sure that the connection cord of the battery charger is not damaged and that there are no cracks in it.

To clean the product, the battery and the battery charger:

1. Clean the product with a dry cloth after use.

2. Clean the battery and battery charger with a dry cloth. Keep the battery guide tracks clean.

3. Make sure that the terminals on the battery and the battery charger are clean before the battery is put in the battery charger or the product.

To examine the blade:

1. Clean the blade from unwanted materials with an anti-corrosion cleaning agent before and after you use the product.

2. Examine the edges of the blade for damages and deformation.

3. Use a file to remove burrs on the blade.

4. Make sure that the blades move freely.

To use manual gear rotation:

1. Remove the battery.

2. Put a T27 key in the gear housing and turn clockwise and counterclockwise.

3. Examine the edges of the blades for damages and deformation.

4. Remove the T27 key.

To lubricate the blade:

1. Lubricate the blade bars with a recommended spray grease before long periods of storage.

• Obey the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements for the supplied Li-ion batteries.

• Use tape on open contacts when packing the battery.

• Remove the battery for storage or transportation.

• Store the battery and charger in a dry, moisture-free, and frost-free space.

• Do not keep the battery where static electricity can occur, such as in a metal box.

• Store the battery where the temperature is between 5°C/41°F and 25°C/77°F, away from open sunlight.

• Store the battery charger where the temperature is between 5°C/41°F and 45°C/113°F, away from open sunlight.

• Charge the battery to 30%-50% before long-term storage.

• Keep the battery away from the charger during storage and in a locked space away from children.

• Clean and service the product before long-term storage.

• Use the transportation guard to prevent injuries or damage.

• Attach the product safely during transportation.
