Opening the Fuel Tank Filler Cap:

1. Press the release button.

2. Turn the fuel tank filler cap counter-clockwise and lift it off.

2. Ensure the fuel tank breather hose is routed without kinks.

The cold start button is located at the bottom of the throttle valve body. It helps the engine burn the increased fuel quantity needed for a cold start by supplying additional oxygen.

To Activate: Push the cold start button in all the way.

To Deactivate: Briefly open the throttle and release the throttle grip, or turn the throttle grip towards the front. The cold start button will return to its original (deactivated) position.

Always check that the cold start button has returned to its basic position after starting.

The idle speed is adjusted using the idle speed adjusting screw. A correctly set idle speed makes the engine easier to start.

Unlocking the Steering:

2. Pull out the key. The handlebar can now be moved again.

To set the combination instrument, the motorcycle must be stationary.

Enter Setup Menu:

• Press and hold both buttons for 3-5 seconds. The Setup menu will be displayed.

Set Speed Unit (KM/H or M/H):

• When the UNIT display flashes, press one of the buttons to select KM/H or M/H.

Set the Clock:

• Wait 5 seconds for the instrument to change to the next menu item. The clock symbol will flash.

• Press one of the buttons to select 24 h or 12 h display format.

• Wait 5 seconds. The time display will flash.

• To reset the time (decrease value), press the left button.

• To advance the time (increase value), press the right button.

Set the Service Interval:

• Wait 5 seconds. The wrench symbol will flash.

Switch Off Service Interval Display:

• Wait 5 seconds. Press and hold the left button until “off” appears in the display.

Press one of the buttons to cycle through the display modes until you see DST or DST2.

To operate DST or DST2:

• Press the left button briefly: Switch to the next display mode.

• Press the left button for 3-5 seconds: Allows you to preset the distance value using the buttons.

• Press the right button for 3-5 seconds: Resets the distance to 0.0.

Press one of the buttons until AVG, ART, and ODO appear on the combination instrument.

5. Press the start button for a maximum of 5 seconds. Wait 15 seconds before another attempt. At low temperatures, you may need to wait 30 seconds between attempts.

Note: At temperatures below 6 °C (43 °F), several attempts may be necessary to warm up the lithium-ion battery. After 6 unsuccessful attempts, check the vehicle for errors.

To switch the traction control on or off on your HUSQVARNA FE 450 2022, press the button labeled TC on the combination switch. The TC LED will light up when traction control is activated. This can be done while riding, provided the engine speed is at or below 4,000 rpm.

Checking Static Sag:

1. Raise the motorcycle on a lift stand and measure the distance from the rear axle to a fixed point (marking SAG) on the rear fender. This is dimension A (rear wheel unloaded).

2. Remove the motorcycle from the stand. With an assistant holding it upright, measure the distance between the same two points. This is dimension B.

3. Static sag is the difference between measurements A and B. The target value is 37 mm (1.46 in).

Checking Riding Sag:

1. Use dimension A from the static sag measurement.

2. With the rider in full gear seated in a normal position (feet on footrests), have an assistant measure the distance between the same two points. This is dimension C.

3. Riding sag is the difference between measurements A and C. The target value is 110 mm (4.33 in).

If the sag values are incorrect, you will need to adjust the spring preload of the shock absorber. This may require changing the shock absorber spring to match the rider’s weight.

You can adjust the compression damping, rebound damping, and spring preload on the fork of your HUSQVARNA FE 450 2022.

Adjusting Compression Damping (left fork leg, white adjuster):

1. Turn the white adjuster at the top of the left fork leg clockwise as far as it will go.

It’s best to drain the engine oil when the engine is at operating temperature.

1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface.

2. Position a container under the engine.

3. Remove the oil drain plug (with magnet) and the two screw plugs for the oil screens (short and long). Allow the oil to drain completely.

4. Thoroughly clean all parts and sealing surfaces.

5. Reinstall the short oil screen and its screw plug. Tighten to 15 Nm (11.1 lbf ft).

6. Reinstall the long oil screen and its screw plug. Tighten to 15 Nm (11.1 lbf ft).

7. Reinstall the oil drain plug with a new seal ring. Tighten to 20 Nm (14.8 lbf ft).

8. Remove the oil filter cover screws and the cover.

9. Pull the old oil filter out of the housing.

10. Lay the motorcycle on its side and fill the oil filter housing about ⅓ full with engine oil.

11. Insert the new oil filter.

12. Oil the O-ring of the filter cover, install the cover, and tighten the screws to 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft).

13. Stand the motorcycle upright. Remove the filler plug and fill with 1.2 L (1.3 qt.) of engine oil (SAE 10W/50).

14. Reinstall the filler plug.

15. Start the engine and check for leaks. Then, check the engine oil level.

1. Remove the air filter box cover and then remove the air filter.

2. Wash the air filter thoroughly in a special air filter cleaning liquid and allow it to dry properly. Only press the air filter to dry it; never wring it out.

3. Oil the dry air filter with a high-grade foam air filter oil.

4. Clean the air filter box and check the intake flange for damage and looseness.

5. Reinstall the air filter, ensuring it is correctly positioned and secured.

6. Reinstall the air filter box cover.
