Check the spoke tension. It must be checked again after the first half an hour of operation.

Run in the engine according to the specified procedure.

During the running-in phase, do not exceed the specified engine performance to ensure a long service life for your engine.

Maximum engine performance:

During the first 3 operating hours: < 70 %

During the first 5 operating hours: < 100 %

Avoid fully opening the throttle during this period.

Check the idle speed regularly, as it may change during the run-in time. The specified idle speed is 1,400 – 1,500 rpm. If it changes, adjust it accordingly.

Lithium-ion batteries have more starting power than lead batteries at temperatures over 15 °C (60 °F). However, at lower temperatures, the starting power drops.

If you have trouble starting in the cold, multiple attempts may be needed. Press the start button for 5 seconds, then wait 30 seconds between attempts. The pauses allow the heat created by the attempt to distribute through the battery, which warms it up internally and increases its starting power (current output).

If a charged lithium-ion battery cannot actuate the starter motor below 15 °C (60 °F), it does not mean the battery is faulty; it simply needs to be warmed up through these starting attempts.

Riding in dry sand causes increased wear. Prepare your motorcycle as follows:

1. Check the radiator cap to ensure it holds 1.8 bar (26 psi). If it doesn’t, change it.

2. Mount an air filter dust cover (part no. 79006920000).

3. Mount an air filter sand cover (part no. 79006922000).

4. Clean the chain.

5. Mount a steel sprocket for durability.

6. Grease the chain with universal oil spray.

7. Clean and straighten any bent radiator fins.

8. For regular use in sand, change the piston every 10 operating hours.

For wet sand or muddy conditions, follow these preparation steps:

1. Check that the radiator cap holds 1.8 bar (26 psi). If not, replace it.

2. Mount an air filter rain cover (part no. 79006921000).

3. Clean the chain.

4. Mount a steel sprocket.

Note: High revving speed with a cold engine negatively impacts the lifespan of the engine. Always run the engine warm at a low speed.

1. Take the motorcycle off the side stand and secure the side stand with the rubber strap.

2. Shift the transmission into neutral.

3. (All EU/AR/CN models) Turn the emergency OFF switch to the “ON” position (circle icon).

4. If the ambient temperature is below 10 °C (50 °F): Pull the cold start button out all the way and turn it by a ¼ turn. If the engine is warm, the cold start button must be deactivated.

5. Press the start button for a maximum of 5 seconds. Do not open the throttle.

6. If the engine does not start, wait 30 seconds before trying again. At temperatures below 15 °C (60 °F), several attempts may be necessary to warm up the battery.

First gear is primarily for starting off and for steep inclines.

Warning: If the oil level warning light comes on, you have enough 2-stroke oil for the remaining fuel in the tank. Add 2-stroke oil at the next opportunity before you refuel.

Upshifting: When conditions allow, release the throttle while simultaneously pulling the clutch lever, shift into the next higher gear, release the clutch lever, and open the throttle.

Downshifting: To shift down, apply the brakes and close the throttle at the same time. Pull the clutch lever, shift into a lower gear, and release the clutch lever slowly. Either open the throttle or shift down again.

Throttle Use: After reaching maximum speed, turn the throttle back to ¾ open to reduce fuel consumption. Abrupt throttle opening increases fuel consumption.

Clutch Use: Avoid frequent or lengthy slipping of the clutch, as this causes the gear oil, engine, and cooling system to heat up. Ride at a low engine speed instead of a high engine speed with a slipping clutch.

If the cold start function was activated, deactivate it after the engine has warmed up.

Warning: Excessively forceful application of the brakes can block the wheels. Adjust your braking to the riding situation and surface conditions.

For optimal deceleration, apply the front and rear brakes simultaneously.

On sandy, wet, or slippery surfaces, prioritize using the rear brake.

Braking should always be completed before you enter a bend. Downshift to a lower gear appropriate for your speed while braking.

If you feel a spongy pressure point, this indicates a problem with the brake system. Do not continue riding until the problem is eliminated by an authorized workshop.

If moisture or dirt impairs the brakes, brake carefully several times to dry out and clean the brake linings and discs.

1. Apply the brakes to stop the motorcycle.

2. Shift the transmission into neutral.

3. (All EU/AR/CN and US models) Press and hold the stop button while the engine is idling until the engine stops.

4. Park the motorcycle on a firm and level surface using the side stand.

5. (All EU/AR models) For added security, you can lock the steering.

Note: Hot vehicle components pose a fire hazard. Do not park the vehicle near flammable or explosive materials. Allow the vehicle to cool down before covering it.

To transport your motorcycle safely:

1. Turn off the engine.

2. Park the vehicle on a firm and level surface.

3. Use tension belts or other suitable securing devices to secure the motorcycle against falling over or rolling away.

Danger: Fire Hazard Fuel is highly flammable.

Do not refuel near open flames or lit cigarettes.

Switch off the engine before refueling.

Avoid spilling fuel, especially on hot parts. Wipe up any spills immediately.

1. Open the fuel tank filler cap.

2. Fill the fuel tank with Super unleaded (ROZ 95) fuel up to level A, which is 35 mm (1.38 in) from the top.

3. Do not refuel using pre-mixed fuel.

4. Close the fuel tank filler cap securely.

Warning: Engine failure The engine will not be lubricated without 2-stroke oil in the oil tank.

If the oil level warning light comes on, there is enough oil for the remaining fuel in the tank. Ride no further than until the fuel is depleted and add 2-stroke oil at the next opportunity before you refuel.

1. Open the 2-stroke oil tank cap.

2. Fill the tank up to the lower edge (A) of the filler neck. Only use high-grade 2-stroke oil appropriate for separate lubrication systems.

3. Close the 2-stroke oil tank cap securely.

Always adjust the shock absorber first, then the fork. The standard settings are for a rider weight of 75 – 85 kg (165 – 187 lb.).

Shock Absorber Adjustments:

• Low-Speed Compression: Turn the adjuster screw (1) clockwise to the stop, then turn counterclockwise the specified number of clicks.
  • Comfort: 17 clicks
  • Standard: 15 clicks
  • Sport: 13 clicks
• High-Speed Compression: Use an open-end wrench to turn the adjuster (1) clockwise all the way, then turn counterclockwise the specified number of turns.

If the engine cranks but won’t start, check the following possible causes and perform the corresponding actions:

Operating error: Ensure you are following the correct start procedure.

Quick release coupling not joined: Join the quick release coupling for the fuel line.

Idle speed is not set correctly: Adjust the idle speed.

Fuel supply interrupted: Check the fuel tank breather to ensure it’s not clogged.

Spark plug sooty or wet: Clean and dry the spark plug and spark plug connector, or replace if necessary.

Plug gap of spark plug too wide: Adjust the plug gap to the specified 0.6 mm (0.024 in).

Faulty ignition: Check the primary winding of the ignition coil, the spark plug connector, and the stator winding of the alternator.

Wiring harness issue: Visually check the wiring harness for frayed cables, and check the stop button or emergency OFF switch for faults. Check the electrical system.

Loose connector: Clean any loose or oxidized connectors on the ignition coil and treat with contact spray.

Malfunction in the electronic fuel injection: Have the fault memory read out using the diagnostics tool at an authorized workshop.

• Brake fluid: DOT 4 / DOT 5.1. Only use clean brake fluid from a sealed container.
• Coolant: High-grade, silicate-free coolant. Antifreeze protection should be at least -25 °C (−13 °F). Recommended: MOTOREX® COOLANT M3.0.
• Gear oil (Engine oil): 15W/50 that meets JASO T903 MA2 standard. Recommended: MOTOREX® Top Speed 4T. Capacity: 0.80 l (0.85 qt.).
