Please follow these safety guidelines when operating your HISENSE WDQY9014EVJM washing machine:

1. Ensure the socket is securely grounded and the water source connection is reliable.

2. This appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

3. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

6. Use the new hose-sets supplied with the appliance; old hose-sets should not be reused.

7. For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, a carpet must not obstruct the openings.

8. The maximum permissible inlet water pressure is 1 MPa, and the minimum is 0.1 MPa for correct operation.

9. The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer.

10. Do not use industrial chemicals for cleaning.

11. Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

12. Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, etc., should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.

13. Items like foam rubber, shower caps, waterproof textiles, and rubber-backed articles should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

14. Fabric softeners should be used as specified by their instructions.

15. Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches before washing.

16. WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.

Before using your new HISENSE WDQY9014EVJM, you must prepare it by following these steps:

1. Removing the packaging and inspection:

• After unpacking, ensure the washing machine is undamaged. If in doubt, do not use it.

• Check that all accessories and supplied parts are present.

• Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

2. Remove the transport bolts:

• The washing machine is fitted with transport bolts to prevent interior damage during transport. It is imperative that these bolts are removed before use.

• After removal, cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps.

3. Install the washing machine:

• Install the appliance on a solid and level floor surface, preferably in a corner.

• Ensure all four feet are stable and resting on the floor. Check that the machine is perfectly level using a spirit level.

• Ensure ventilation openings in the base are not obstructed by carpet.

4. Connect the water inlet:

• Connect the water supply inlet hose according to your local water company regulations. The water tap should be a 3/4 threaded hose connector.

5. Connect the drain hose:

• Connect the drain hose to the siphon or hook it over the edge of a sink using the “U” bend supplied.

• If connected to an integrated drainage system, ensure it has a vent to prevent siphoning.

• Fix the drain hose securely.

6. Electrical connection:

• Electrical connections must be done by a qualified technician.

• The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with an earth connection. Do not use extension leads or multiple sockets.

To remove any residual water used during testing by the manufacturer, it is recommended to carry out a short wash cycle without any laundry.

1. Open the water tap.

2. Close the machine door.

3. Pour a small amount of detergent (about 30 ml) into the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.

4. Select and start a short programme.

1. Sort the laundry according to:

• Type of fabric / care label symbol: Cottons, mixed fibres, easy care/synthetics, wool, handwash items.

• Colour: Separate coloured and white items. Wash new coloured articles separately.

• Loading: Wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficiency.

• Delicates: Wash small items (e.g., nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (e.g., bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip. Remove curtain rings or wash curtains with the rings inside a cotton bag.

2. Empty all pockets:

• Coins, safety pins, etc., can damage your laundry and the appliance drum and tub.

3. Fasteners:

• Close zips and fasten buttons or hooks. Loose belts or ribbons should be tied together.

4. Stain removal:

• Blood, milk, eggs, etc., are generally removed by the automatic enzyme phase of the programme.

• To remove red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, add a stain remover to the main wash chamber.

• Pre-treat heavily-soiled areas with a stain remover if necessary.

Always use high efficiency, low foam detergent for a front-load machine like the HISENSE WDQY9014EVJM.

The choice of detergent depends on:

• Type of fabric (cottons, easy care/synthetics, delicate items, wool). Use only specific detergents for washing wool.

• Colour.

• The wash temperature.

• Degree and type of soiling.

Follow the dosage recommendations on the detergent pack, which depend on the degree of soiling, size of the wash, and water hardness in your area.

Where to put detergent and additives:

The detergent drawer has three chambers:

• Prewash chamber (I): Detergent for the prewash/soak.

• Mainwash chamber (II): Detergent for the main wash, stain remover, water softener (for water hardness class 4).

• Softener chamber (flower symbol): Fabric softener.

In case of a power outage or other special circumstances where the door cannot be opened, you can use the emergency door lock lever located at the drainage pump door.

Note:

1. Do not operate when the machine is working normally.

2. Before proceeding, ensure the inner drum has stopped turning, the water is not at a high temperature, and the water level is lower than the clothing inlet. If the water level is too high, drain the water first.

Operation method:

1. Open the cover of the drainage pump door.

2. Pull down the lock lever with the help of a tool.

3. The door can now be opened.

Appliance exterior and control panel:

• Can be washed down with a soft, damp cloth.

• A little neutral, non-abrasive detergent can also be used.

• Dry with a soft cloth.

Door seal:

• Clean with a damp cloth when necessary.

• Check the condition of the door seal periodically.

Detergent dispenser:

1. Press the release lever in the main wash compartment downward and remove the drawer.

2. Remove the siphon in the softener slot.

3. Wash all parts under running water.

4. Refit the siphon and fit the drawer back inside its housing.

Filter:

Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year. IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

2. Use a tool like a slotted screwdriver to open the bottom baffle.

3. Place a flat container underneath and drain any residual water using the emergency drain pipe. Then, loosen the filter counter-clockwise and completely unscrew and remove it.

4. Clean the filter and the filter chamber.

5. Check that the pump rotor moves freely.

6. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

7. Reinstall the plinth.

Water supply hose:

• Check the supply hose regularly for brittleness and cracks and replace if necessary.

• To clean the mesh filter in the connection:

1. Close the tap and loosen the inlet hose from the tap.

2. Clean the internal mesh filter and screw the hose back onto the tap.

3. Unscrew the inlet hose from the rear of the washing machine.

4. Pull off the mesh filter from the machine connection with pliers and clean it.

5. Refit the mesh filter and screw the inlet hose on again.

6. Turn on the tap and ensure connections are water-tight.

If your HISENSE WDQY9014EVJM washing machine does not start and shows no lights, please check the following:

• Ensure the mains plug is inserted correctly into the socket.

• Verify that the wall socket is functioning correctly by testing it with a table lamp or a similar appliance.

If the “Start/Pause” indicator is flashing and the machine won’t start, check the following:

• The door is properly closed (check child safety lock).

• The “Start/Pause” button has been pressed.

• The “Water tap closed” indication is lit. If so, open the water tap and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

If the appliance stops mid-cycle, check these possibilities:

• The door has been opened and the “Start/Pause” indicator lamp is flashing. Close the door and press the “Start/Pause” button again.

• There is too much foam inside, and the machine has entered a kill-foam routine. The machine will run again automatically after a period.

• The washing machine’s safety system has been activated (refer to the “Fault description table”).

If the machine vibrates during the spin cycle, please check:

• The washing machine is level and standing firmly on all four feet.

• The transport bolts have been removed. Before using the machine, it is imperative that the transport bolts are removed.

Poor spin results can be due to the following:

• The washing machine has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy items are loaded (e.g., bathrobes), the system may reduce the spin speed or interrupt the spin to protect the machine. If laundry is still too wet, remove some articles and repeat the spin cycle.

• Excessive foam formation may prevent spinning. Use the correct amount of detergent.

• Check that the spin speed selector has not been set to “0”.

The “F01” code indicates the machine is not fed with water or has insufficient water. Check the following:

• The faucet is fully open and has enough water pressure.

• The water inlet pipe is not knotted.

• The filtering net of the water inlet pipe is not blocked (refer to maintenance and repair).

• The water pipe is not frozen.

After checking, press the “Start/Pause” key to clear the fault. If the fault occurs again, please contact After-Sales Service.

The “F03” code means the washer is not emptying. The washer stops the program. Shut down the machine and disconnect the power supply. Check:

• The drain pipe is not knotted.

• The filter in the drain pump is not blocked (refer to cleaning instructions). IMPORTANT: Ensure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

• The drain hose is not frozen.

Plug in the appliance again. Select and start the “Spin” programme or push the “Start/Pause” button for at least 3 seconds to restart the desired programme. If the fault persists, contact After-Sales Service.

If fault code “F13” is shown: Door lock is abnormal. Start the program for 20 seconds and unlock the door to check if it is closed properly. Open or close it again. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”. If the fault persists, disconnect power and contact after-sale service.

If fault code “F14” is shown: Door open fault. Press the “Start/Pause” button; the machine will try to open the door. The alarm will remain until the door is unlocked. Alternatively, turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds, then choose the desired program to start.

If fault code “F24” is shown: Water level has reached overflow level. Remove it by pressing “Start/Pause”. Select and start the required program. If the fault reoccurs, disconnect power and contact after-sale service.

If any fault code from “F04” to “F98” is shown: Electronic module has failed. Turn the knob to Off for 3 seconds to turn off the machine. After the fault is removed, press “Start/Pause”. If the fault persists, disconnect power and contact after-sale service.

The “Unb” unbalance alarm can be solved by the following methods:

1. Laundry winding: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, shake the clothes to untangle them, and put them back into the machine. Then, select the single dewatering program to dry again.

2. Too light-weighted laundry: Turn the knob to “off” for 3 seconds to shut down. Open the door, put in one or two towels to help balance the load, and then select the single dewatering program to dry again.

If you wish to connect hot and cold water supply (Dual Inlets):

1. Fix the red-marked inlet hose to the hot water tap and to the inlet valve with the red filter on the rear side of the machine.

2. Fix the other inlet hose (blue filter) to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve with the blue filter on the rear side of the machine.

Make sure the connections are tightly fixed and not inverted.

If you wish to connect only the cold fill (Dual Inlets):

1. You will need a Y-piece connector, which can be purchased from a local hardware or plumbing supplier.

2. Fix the Y-piece connector to the cold fill tap.

3. Connect the two inlet valves on the rear of the machine to the Y-piece connector using the hoses provided.

Ensure all connections are tightly fixed.

Never lift the appliance by the worktop when transporting.

1. Pull out the mains plug.

2. Turn off the tap.

3. Disconnect the inlet and drain hoses.

4. Eliminate all water from the hoses and from the appliance (see “Removing the Filter”, “Draining Residual Water”).

5. Fit the transport bolts (obligatory).

6. The machine is over 55 kg in weight; two people are needed to move it.

Important: Transport bolts which are not removed can cause damage to the appliance.

1. Screw off all transportation bolts for approx. 30mm with a wrench, following the direction of the arrow shown (do not fully screw it off).

2. Push the four transportation bolts inward horizontally to loosen them.

3. Pull out the transportation bolt together with its rubber and plastic part.

4. To ensure safety and reduce noise, install the transportation bolt covers supplied. Lean the machine and place the cover into the hole, pressing it until it clicks.

Important: Keep the transport bolts and the wrench for future transporting of the appliance. To refit, perform these steps in reverse order.

The appliance must be installed on a solid and level floor surface.

1. Slacken the locknut clockwise (see arrow) using the wrench.

2. Lift the machine slightly and adjust the height of the foot by revolving it higher or lower.

3. Important: Tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing. The maximum adjustment height is 20 mm.

1. If the drain hose is installed on the rear clip, unhook it only from the right clip.

2. Connect the drain hose to the drain or hook it over the edge of a sink by means of the “U” bend. Fit the “U” bend (E) at the end of the drain hose if it is not already installed.

Notes:

• Ensure there are no kinks in the drain hose.

• Secure the hose so that it cannot fall down. The machine will drain out hot water.

• Small hand basins are not suitable.

• The top of the drain hook should be between a minimum of 70 cm and a maximum of 125 cm from the floor.

• Maximum overall drain hose length is 2.50 m.
