Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607PMW with a gang box:

1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, ensuring the datum line is 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel of the device and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the necessary cables through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect them to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Reinstall the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

Activate via Device

1. After powering on the device, the system will enter the Device Activation page.

2. On the “Activate Device” page, create a strong password.

3. Confirm the password.

Password Strength Recommendation: Use a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.

Set Application Mode

After activating the device, you should select an application mode for better performance.

1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

2. Tap OK to save.

Note: If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others. If you do not configure this, the system will default to Indoor.

Set Recognition Mode

After setting the application mode, select a face recognition mode.

1. On the Welcome page, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

   • Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

   • Deep Mode: Recognizes a much wider range of people and is suitable for more complicated environments.

2. Tap OK to save.

Note: The system will default to Normal if not configured. Normal mode and deep mode are not compatible; it is suggested not to change this parameter once it is configured.

Login for the First Time

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entry page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password you created.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page.

Note: The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator

After you have added an administrator to the device, only the administrator can log in to perform device operations.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate using the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

Note: The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts. You can tap the lock icon to enter the activation password for login if needed.

You can configure Network, Wi-Fi, RS-485, and Wiegand parameters from the Communication Settings page.

1. Tap Comm. (Communication Settings) on the Home page.

Set Network Parameters

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap Network.

2. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the required parameters.

3. Tap OK to save the settings.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap Wi-Fi.

2. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

4. Select an IP mode (Static or Dynamic) and input the password and any required network details.

5. Tap OK to save.

Set RS-485 Parameters

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap RS-485.

2. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader) based on your needs.

3. Tap the checkmark to save the network parameters. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

Set Wiegand Parameters

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap Wiegand.

2. Enable the Wiegand function.

3. Select a transmission direction:

   • Output: To connect to an external access controller.

   • Input: To connect to a Wiegand card reader.

4. Tap the checkmark to save. The device will reboot if you change the parameters.

You can add users and manage their credentials (face picture, fingerprint, card, password) from the User Management interface.

To add a new user:

1. On the Home page, tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the Employee ID (must be unique, less than 32 characters, and not start with 0).

3. Tap the Name field and input the user’s name.

To add credentials:

• Add Face Picture:

  1. Tap the Face Picture field.

  2. Position your face looking at the camera, ensuring it is within the outline.

  3. The device will capture the picture automatically.

  4. Tap Save.

• Add Fingerprint:

  1. Tap the Fingerprint field.

  2. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. After adding the fingerprint, tap Yes on the pop-up to save and add another, or No to save and return to the user page. (Up to 10 fingerprints per user).

• Add Card:

  1. Tap the Card field.

  2. Enter the card number manually or swipe the card over the swiping area to capture the number.

  3. Optionally, enable the Duress Card function.

• Add Password:

  1. Tap the Password field.

  2. Create and confirm a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters).

After adding credentials, you can set the Authentication Mode (Device or Custom) and tap the checkmark to save all settings.

Export Data

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap one of the export options: Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

3. Plug a USB flash drive into the device.

4. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the USB flash drive.

Note: The supported USB flash drive format is DB. The system supports storage from 1G to 32G, with more than 512M of free space.

Import Data

1. Plug a USB flash drive containing the data into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window, and the data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device.

Note: The supported USB flash drive format is FAT32. For picture imports, pictures should be saved in a root directory folder named “enroll_pic” and follow the naming rule: Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg.

On the System Settings page, you can configure basic parameters, face picture parameters, fingerprint parameters, and time settings.

Tap System on the Home page to enter System Settings.

Face Picture Parameters

Tap the Face Pic. tab to configure settings like 1:N security level, face anti-spoofing, recognition interval, margin settings, pitch/yaw angles, and WDR level.

Fingerprint Parameters

Tap the Fingerprint tab to set the fingerprint security level. A higher level decreases the false acceptance rate (FAR) but increases the false rejection rate (FRR).

Time Settings

Tap Time on the Home page to set the device time and DST (Daylight Saving Time).

You can set the attendance mode as disable, manual, auto, or a combination. Tap T&A Status on the Home page to begin.

Disable Attendance Mode

Set the Attendance Mode to Disable. You will not view or configure attendance status on the initial page, and the system will follow rules from the platform.

Set Manual Attendance

1. Set the Attendance Mode to Manual.

2. Enable the Attendance Status function.

3. After authentication, you must manually select an attendance status (e.g., Check In, Check Out). If you do not select a status, the authentication will fail and not be marked as valid.

Set Auto Attendance

1. Set the Attendance Mode to Auto.

2. Select an attendance status (e.g., Break Out) and set its schedule.

3. The system will automatically mark authentications within the configured schedule with the corresponding status.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance

Set the Attendance Mode to Manual and Auto. The system will automatically change the status based on the schedule, but you can also manually change it after authentication.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure access permissions. The available parameters are:

Upgrade Firmware

1. Plug in a USB flash drive containing the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

2. On the System Settings page, tap Maint. (Maintenance).

3. Tap Upgrade.

4. The device will automatically read the file and begin the upgrade. Do not power off during this process.

Data Management

Tap Data (Data Management) to manage device data. You can perform the following actions:

• Delete All Events: Deletes all events stored in the device.

• Delete User Data: Deletes all user data in the device.

• Delete Captured Pic.: Deletes all captured pictures.

• Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings. The device will reboot.

• Restore to Default: Restores parameters to default but saves communication and remote user settings. The device will reboot.

• Recommended Finger: Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

• Correct Scanning: Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the center of the scanner.

• Incorrect Scanning: Avoid scanning vertically, from the edge, or from the side of your finger.

• Environment: The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, you can blow on it before scanning again.

• Others: If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it; try a different finger.

To get a good quality and accurate face picture, follow these recommendations:

• Position: The recommended distance from the device is 0.5 meters. Ensure you are not too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

• Expression: Keep your expression natural, similar to a standard passport photo.

• Accessories: Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can obstruct the facial recognition function. Do not let your hair cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

• Posture: Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

• Size: Make sure your face is centered in the middle of the collecting window.

To ensure optimal performance of your HIKVISION DS-K1T607PMW, follow these installation environment guidelines:

1. Light Source Illumination: The device operates under different lighting conditions. Reference values are:

   • Candle: 10 Lux

   • Bulb: 100~850 Lux

   • Sunlight: More than 1200 Lux
